The Problem: Dragoon

Yup, even some of the lead up classes are in need of rebalancing which just causes even more problems for Dragoons.

It’s easy enough to aim, but due to the hitbox being bad and the animation long, the enemy can walk half a metre to avoid it. And that’s with you being mounted and having additional mobility, dismounted classes it’s even more difficult.

I’m going to continue with my Dragoon and aim for a Wingshard. I’m finding 2H to be underwhelming compared to 1H and as a Hoplite the synergy is too good to ignore.

This is where the dethrone bind synergy comes in, dethrone bind then gae bolg, my favorite move when I was dragoon 2 for a day.

The RHP is crying for the sweet release of death after all.

Which means I have to use a Dethrone before Gae Bulg reducing my damage, then waste time going to get the spear I threw, all this after actively running away to position myself to use Gae Bulg. And that’s only for bosses, Dethrone scatters normal mobs (and desyncs them) meaning using Gae Bulg afterwards will be ineffective. We can see what IMC was going for, it just doesn’t work properly and places too much of an emphasis on these difficult and unpredictable mechanics.

Ah, pardon me, because I always talk in PvP perspective where you don’t race for DPS unlike bossing, dethrone followed by gae bulg is more than enough to kill even those with trans 10 solmiki set, but requires you to have good weapon of course. For PvE, dragoontooth still seems to be better than gae bulg.

Okay, what you said in a PVP setting does make more sense. I’m not sure how productive it is taking things in a PVP perspective given how unbalanced the entire system is, and with it getting an overhaul in the future. Still though, given the slow animations and hitboxes, even in PVP they could use more rebalancing.

I have a sneaking suspicion that C3 Dragoon is going to be like C3 Doppel, where Doppel C1 was okay and Doppel C2 was slightly better but still “okay”, and Doppel C3 is amazing.

I think Dragoon is going to have some amazing C3 attributes to make the class feel more refined. Not to say that anything you said is wrong, it’s just a feeling I have of what IMC will do with Dragoon

Dragoon C3 will give a heavy hitting damage nuke like Nibelung Valesti, except with dragons and sh*t.

That’s what Dethrone was originally supposed to be.

Lol dethrone got overnerfed.

Dethrone got buffed with this ninja patch, which seems to have brought over the updated changes on kToS we were due.

Went from doing 619% x 2 to 746% x 2 (reverse-mathed from attribute; I have 49 Enhance which puts it at 771% x 2 in my tooltip)

It also seems like they increased the values on Dragontooth and Serpentine, unless there’s a bug with my attributes and I’m actually getting double the benefit. Anyone with a completely unattributed Dragoon2 that can compare the numbers today against the skill simulators online?

I used a rank reset voucher just now that I ninja’d before maintenance, so I could get rid of my attributes. I’ll give you guys solid numbers soon, but… I forgot about the fact I have to redo my class quests now that the event is over. Bear with me.

My Serpentine and Dragontooth appear to be unchanged, but I may be misremembering their values prior to the maintenance.
