It was not indeed. However, we still have a piece of information that is amiss…How long have they been working on the new formulas? All this wasn’t simply made in a single day. What if what we had back then was no more than a placeholder to what we are to receive?
It doesn’t change the fact that it was indeed short-sighted, but of course…I am only assuming that and obviously IMC would never agree with or deny it. It kinda connects though.

Those gears are all a pain in the ass to acquire.
Even more so once Trans became tradeable they created a super divide. When it wasn’t tradeable it was just super unrealistic.
There are two possible choices : Either change the game formulas or leave them.
Leaving them as it is would result in players still doing ridiculous damage-cap hits, even per hit with their multihit skills, the defense formula being too extreme (either you get 1 dmg or like 5~10k dmg), attack stats being unimportant and everyone just going for a single stat.
Is that a game you want to play and you think that’s balanced? I’m pretty sure most people agree that with endgame gear the current formulas we have are not working out very well.
Bro…MMORPGs only turn into final product once they stop supporting it and the game enters in maintenance mode. The games of this genre are ever growing projects that require core changes in order to remain revelant.
okay first of all, no rank 9 news. second, i have a feeling this will make the game more Tree of Clerics if you know what i mean. im scared what will happen to the game.
thats why i said MORE tree of clerics. im a swordsman and this update makes me sad but then again i need that rank reset cos my build’s kinda crap so thats something lol
I’m not saying we may not hear from it now but watching @Nekorin video of gm meetup it was said that rank 9 is supposed to come after the stat/skill/damage balance thing.
I’m very excited to hear that they’re getting rid of the bonus stats for investing heavily into one, better late than never!
I wonder how many classes that don’t scale well as damage dealers will end up with the rebalancing patch, like will we see Ice Mages? I wonder how underwhelming spells like Earthquake, Freezing Sphere and Flare will turn out.

I don’t feel like there’s a real difference in them removing the bonus to increasing stats because there’s no diminishing returns. Unless investing in a stat to full becomes more expensive, then it really makes no difference to me.
More importantly it’s all insignificant. I mix stats and then what, am I going to take Int on my Swordsman? Nah.
Taking Dex and STR? Well if you do the math right the choice to mix becomes obvious regardless.
