The EXP rate is atrocious, and deals a heavy blow to the game

It really takes the fun out of it when you’re doing quests in a zones 15 over your level, grind for a whole day, and after doing all the quests you now have access to get told you have to spend another day grinding up 4 more levels.

I’ve done more grinding then testing. I’ve been through every piece of content up to lvl 35 with a fine tooth comb in maybe 2-3 hours. The rest is pure grind, I’ve barely made any progress, and I’ve been playing since the servers opened.

The quests do not give enough exp, even being underleveled the coupons you get only give you a few % at best. It just takes too long to get enough exp. The rates of everything need to be increased.

Not to mention this is really EARLY game. If the grind is bad at this point, I don’t even want to bother with lvl 50 content, much less 100, 200, and so on.

The pacing on the Korean beta feels much better, you do all the quests in the maps the main quest takes you through and you end up following the progression kind of close, you just need to grind here and there, or you can just grind and do the main quest with no side quests.

It definitly doesn’t take them an hour to get close to a single a level. :stuck_out_tongue: And thats only because they have x3.

Honestly, I think we need x4 when it’s actually released.

Eh the X3 was an event the true rate are not known some dude who said he data mined the steam client said that at 15 kr client get x5 then it increases progressively to x48 at level 185, somehow I doubt it’s that high the levels slowly increase in experience requirement, so I doubt it’s really that high but who knows, I’m level 94 after a few days on the Korean beta.

But people shouldn’t be hitting grind walls so early. That’s definitly reserved for atleast AFTER you get all your class upgrades. A few grinds here and there for a bit of exp is fine. But I shouldn’t be having to kill bosses 15 above my level, and grind on eneemies for an hour and a half each level until much later.

I know that, as I mentioned, the Korean beta has a very nice pace it’s not too fast but not abysmally slow.

It’s a pain to level up.

In less than 10 minutes I got Class Level 5 as Ranger in Korean Server

Now I am taking ages to get Level 4 in International

18K CEXP to Level up? Holy Macarone.
Even killing a blue mob didn’t level me up.

And I haven’t even used a single Exp Card due to this.

update: Leveled up by killing 2 blue mobs to reach 26K next exp.

I agree that the grind is horrible atm and is the main factor in me not enjoying the game as much as i would like to (outside of wizard feeling pretty weak).

No i do not imply grinding is bad, if it was up to me i’d rather do it than questing (i actually enjoy the fact you need to grind), but since i reached level 30 i barely felt my character progressing.
It’s the feeling you generally get for the last level grinds in other MMOs, which isn’t much of an issue in those because your character is probably already strong and has a diverse amount of tools at his disposal, but in the current version of ToS you’re rank 2, you barely have any tools.

I’m 37 and close to 38 but honestly i feel the main reason i’m at that level is because i lucked out on parties and blue mobs. I guess my in game name was appropriate.

tldr: Yes to grinding, no to high level content grind for low level content.

after a certain level grinding is much faster than questing, you can rush the main quest and just grind whenever you find mobs you like killing, I got bored of questing around 80 in the Korean beta and I am currently 94 and doing fine, I know the rates are increased but still, that’s how it goes.

Gimmi your account than if you’re complain about the grind please and thanks ;^)

i dont have this prob ive been getting quest all the time and im lvl 22 wit still about 4 quest to do still i havent had to grind yet

Around 24/25 possibly earlier, you run out all quests including blue quests. You can slowly get more doing main quests that tell you to kill bosses 15 levels higher.

the hell starts to break loose close to 30.

well ill look forward to that when ever i can get in ill update

Surely the people asking for x4 experience rate are joking? It definitely takes long to level up in the game, but x3 or x4 rate is ridiculous.

I agree, the exp rate is really crappy. I spent all day playing and I’m only level 36, and i heard max level is 600. A WHOLE DAY and only getting about 26 levels is a bit ridiculous. I mean. I leveled over 8 hours today.

I completely agree here. While I am having fun leveling through the areas and running around in parties, it’s just really slow. My one party wanted to get out 5th member up to 25 so we could continue the main quest as a group, but it took quite a bit of grinding to get them from 23 to 25 since we had all finished the available quests in the area. Even getting from 29 to 30 was more a pain than had hoped (was easier outside of a party than while in a party). I currently have about 15 hours on the game (3-4 hours spent leveling a wizard which I then left due to it feeling way underpowered), and then the remaining 11 or so hours on an archer which only just reached 31. I’ve played in betas for other grind oriented games, and this just feels really slow with not much reward compared to those.

Dude, in two days you are at lvl 35 already?! In ragnarok 1 it took us like at least a week to get lvl 35.

Highest level here is what… 250? What was it in RO back then? 99.
And a small fyi, this isn’t RO.

Based on that, I also agree the exp is kinda low. Or rather, the grind windows between progression quests are too large.
