The brazilian situation and the shout chat

The sheer amount of broken english on these forums makes it hard to tell who is “American” and who isn’t anyway. It’s embarrassing how many of you can’t even type properly in your native language.

Yea dude i cant write it better.im spanish and i begun to play with 13 years old with everquest at 1997 and i havent spoken in spanish never in general chats.
Im not racist, but it is true that all south american people are comonly hated in every game because they are generally rude, disrespectfull etc.
Not only br in portuguese, mexican or others south american in spanish also.
You never see german, french etc only portuguese and spanish everytime in every mmo are who are disrespectfull and im not racist in rl but i hate every south american in games

The only thing Brazilians are the largest fanbase of, is any game they don’t have to pay for. Which is why when iRO was subscription based, I never saw them, compared to private servers hosted in North America that still have over an 80% Brazilian population. If you think “majority rules” is a valid reason to disregard mutual respect in speaking a language that doesn’t make the rest of the community feel alienated, then you are just another part of the problem.

Yeah, free games like WoW, FF, D3. We always say there is a huge number of good brazilians that don’t get noticed ingame because they speak english, are polite and don’t run around screaming “hue”. People usually don’t believe it.

iRO didn’t have many brazilians because we had a huge brazilian server, which, out of curiosity, was subscription based for years.

That said, I don’t think speaking portuguese in the chat is natural. It’s unpolite, at least. IMC asked to use english. IMC said they would ban people for spamming. They should have done it.

Well then the problem still lies with your own countrymen, not the perception that other countries have of you. The simple fact is that “good BRs” are outnumbered by “bad BRs” at what seems like a 3:1 ratio.

I sympathize and don’t support the racism that takes place on this game, but it’s an uphill battle in which you’re being dragged down by your own.

Yes, the problem is mostly created by brazilians themselves. I get ashamed everytime someone talks in portuguese. I ask them to stop. They don’t give a ■■■■. I would say that for free games this ratio can be even worse, while in paid games it’s more even.

What botters me, however, is how everything is br’s fault. Botting, server atacks, blocking people from completing quests. Even the change in packs was a BR thing according to some posts last night.

I will pay for the 50 pack, and I just hope I can play without those kids. Including the BR ones.

That’s the thing, it is trully something like a 3:1 ratio as @nethereus said. I’m a brazilian myself and, despiste not being so good at english I do my best while playing on international servers.
And seriously speaking, even though we had(or better saying, we still have) a brazilian RO server, people just left from it and joined the iRO instead because of the better costumer service and bot handling that warpportal has.(and belive me, bRO’s staff is really lazy on some tasks like bot banning, aside from not punish some players since they spend way too much cash)

But anyway, it is true: It’s kind of hard to see a brazilian on a game that has a monthly fee or at least needs to buy the game and it’s expansions before playing it.
