Okay so after a comment from a friend, I went back and read the announcement again. ā¦
Each cube will give you a random cosmetic item from a collection of premium costumes and hair accessories. The collection of items obtainable from the Blessed Cube will vary periodically, changing for example whenever a new line of costumes and accessories is released.
I still donāt like this, but we may be getting a different cube that only has cosmetics from that wording.
Seems is a way they found to negate chargebacks in steam. So you buy tp and spend in things like gacha, you literally consumed your tp, making you lose any dispute for chargeback.
Smart move.
Guess Iāll post the suggestion here since here is more appropriate than the gachapon reaction thread.
Suggestion to upgrade and expand on the gachapon idea.
Think of the successful āgachaponā in the world and why it is so widely popular, Kinder Surprise. To those who donāt know what it is (since it is banned in US until recently I think), it is basically a hollow chocolate egg which has a surprise toy within it.
One thing in which the chocolate egg has is the concept of value which is tied to it. The consumer gets a base minimum value on purchasing the egg, which is the chocolate itself. So, even if the āsurprise toyā within it isnāt to the consumerās liking, they still get something of value out of it.
So come to ToS Gachapon. If the consumer (us) rolls upon it and gets apples or kits, it will leave many to perhap all of us fuming as the value of the apples clearly arenāt worth the 30TP price tag, moreover based on the ratio breakdown by @thebloodyaugust those apples + repair kits constitutes at least 1/3 of the chances.
So what IMC can do, is to package the gachapon item with other items.
Create this āGachapon Eggā which contitutes of the following @ 40TP (values and items to be tweaked):
- 4x Soul Crystals
- 4x Megaphone
- 1x Enchant Scroll
- 1x Gachapon Egg
This package gives a base perceived value of 30TP based on items alone, and the ārandom surpriseā constitutes to an additional 10TP which is not too bad for something extra on the fun side.
With this the gachapon will be more welcomed than the version now to the international audience, and the items which are paired with it are useful for every character which will likely to generate sales too.

That will be too much, becomes P2W since top game items become ābuyableā through in game shop.
if rng for daily-effort rushing dun is acceptable
why is rng in exchange for my hard-earned money is not.
people complain gatcha coz the reward is not rewarding enough.
might as well put in Stat Reset 0.5% rate in gatcha~

I think a balanced solution would be:
- Cosmetic only items from the cubes.
- Allow previous rotation but not newest costume sets be brought through the exchange at a small premium.
- Sell the newest costumes directly for TP, not through gacha.
Thats how they plan to do it already. Alot of us HATE that because the exchange store forces us to buy gacha cubes. Put them in the ā ā ā ā ā ā ā tp store thats why we have it.

I did. And my point still holds we have the TP store for cosmetics, put the cosmetics in it.
I understand what your saying your talking about a rotation.
AND
What im saying is we have to stop compromising with stupid (IMC). We need to do what did during beta and burn the forums and make them give us what we want because they obviously donāt understand their customers.

I think they want the gamblers mechanic in. As much as they will upset some. That solution lets players buy the newest with TP. Or buy the older with exchange. So you can always have the option of getting the items just by spending a set amount rather then relying on solely on RNG.
In your proposed option, not theirs. Also your option forces new players to buy gachas to get old costumes. Heaven forbid anyone new comes to this game.

Alternative suggestions is the name of this thread.
I agree with that it has a learning curve to it. New players will be confused by the gacha system. May not notice the exchangeā¦ May just keep buying cubes trying to get what they want.
If IMC wants more money they should fix the game to get players back, more players = more purchases. That should be their solution not milking the remaining until they quit. Seriously we still see bugs that we had in betaā¦
Donāt get me wrong short term the gachas are brilliant for money milking. But ultimately gonna cause more harm than good.

Wellā¦ They could just shutdown for two years like FFXIV did and fix everything. But I donāt know if thatās financially practical for them or not.
And I do agree practices like Gacha are brand damaging.
