IMC has changed their tactics before when players protested loudly enough.
Let’s continue the trend with some suggestions about gacha.
-
I don’t mind gacha when it’s crappiest item is worth close to the cost of the box. I’m sorry 6x 50% hp apples or an anvil is not worth $3.00. I’d rather use alchemist potions and support the current playerbase, but that’s just me. The kTOS thread has a list, somewhere, of the items and their drop rate. There are extremely poor chances to get things outside of the apples, gem abrasives and other dud prizes. That’s nothing new. There’s always a “bad” prize, but it should still have some sort of value either as resell/exchange that is fair.

I want to be able to buy my costumes directly without any of this RNG silliness. Hair ornaments are fine, really. I want to be able to buy my costumes. I am worried about how this will mess with the economy in the game which is already pretty weak on Klai.
-
I’d rather have a subscription server, start fresh, with costumes and some TP items 1/2 priced than ever open a freaking gacha box. I reiterate: I would rather pay to play the game, at the same rate/benifits as a token for the server, than buy a $3.00 gachapon box. Give it cheaper costumes to balance the need to buy a sub to play and there you go.
Why? Because I don’t like the mentality behind it, especially from a game that has so many issues that need to be fixed. I’m aware they need to turn a profit to keep going forward with the game. I adore our staff members (mostly) and any other issues aside–I want to support my game that I spend my spare time on. Of course I do.
I just don’t want nor support this kind of lame tactic to milk players for money.
Anyway, what other suggestions do you guys have for something better to help ToS make money? Huehue welcome at this point. IDC anymore, since IMC went from the interviews where they swore they hated cash shop oriented games to:

I am no mathematician, but let’s just assume that the gacha hats (I think they are actually) are worth 30 points.
Let’s say that the costumes only cost 129 exchange points.
You need 4.3 hats --> 5 hats, to get 1 costume. Not so bad right?
But you only get hats by a 50% chance per $3.00 box. It’s still a high chance, compared to some games. You get 6 boxes, and get 5/6 hats. Which is really RNG on your side, but whatever. You just paid 18.00 for a costume. Which won’t be the new one you were trying for:
Premium costumes already sold at the TP Shop, excluding Circle 3 costumes and the Cockatrice costume, will be removed from the TP Shop and sold via Exchange Shop. As for newly-introduced premium costumes, we plan to release them for purchase only via Blessed Cube. After their release, cosmetic items sold via Blessed Cube will then eventually become available at the Exchange Shop, where they will be exchangeable for recycling points.

Even if you buy your hats for the exchange shop off of the market, assuming they don’t change that, someone still had to pay for it, and given the inflation of items and the assumption that 50% is misleading (because it usually is), the market price is gonna be high. So even if you charge 0TP you’re gonna pay for it somehow.
I don’t mind gacha. It can be a lot of fun, when it’s done right. Change the lower tier items to be of a better value. Continue to sell costumes for TP. Give them the % chance in the cube as well. Fine. Cool. Use the exchange shop. Rotate the costumes available in the TP shop, so that there’s an incentive to use the gacha to get ones that currently aren’t “in”.
Just please, there are better ways to do this.
*note: in the announcement there IS something about how:
Each cube will give you a random cosmetic item from a collection of premium costumes and hair accessories. The collection of items obtainable from the Blessed Cube will vary periodically, changing for example whenever a new line of costumes and accessories is released.
I still don’t like gacha. I never have and never will.
