SP Consumption will kill the playerbase

and you seem to not know how the game is like after 2016. Have you ever tried sitting on bonfires while mobs are attacking you? Bonfires will not save your ass when you run out of sp in the middle of a fight. Bonfire is for outside of combat, it’s not and will never be something to replace sp pots like you’re implying.

Besides, no one said anything about bonfires. We’re talking about sp pots not bonfires. Stop thinking you’re the only person who uses bonfire, you’re not.

Ok sure, but in exchange, you have to buy me and everyone an extra character slot. Don’t expect everyone to have a slot to make an alchemist. Paying for it defeats the purpose of saving money.

If only HP/SP recovery system was better, but it’s not. Increasing SP recovery wont solve the problem if you recover your SP so slowly.

I thought we were playing games for fun and not to be frustrated because 0.1% of the population decided players had to adapt. Adapt or die is for ToS, not the players, wake up.

Logged today the fist time in a long time and indeed the SP consumption is really high.

The game could have alternative ways to recover or at least mitigate the SP cost like:

  • Auto Attack recover some SP
  • Passives from attributes, like Warlock recovering SP from draining spirits, Elementalist from hitting elemental weakness, Cannoneer having reduced SP cost during the cannon stance and etc.
  • New actives skills like Featherfoot having one to convert HP to SP or even a buff that the skills to use HP as a cost instead of SP.

And etc, that would make the game more engaging, letting the newbs having SP if they are smart while people that have the silver can just spam SP pots.

You can make around 2000 potions in 1 hour by farming uosis

I still havent taken a side on this discussion as i’ve faced scenarios where the SP cost per rotation is annoying, as link -> swell -> throw sand/break brick (which has 20/25s downtime between each combo), and others that made the combat more engaging, being full support on velcoffer juggling healing. Personally i think they should reduce the overall SP cost by 5~15% (based on total cost and overheats) and that would be enough to hit a sweet spot of not being forced to use pots on every rotation and stay closer to the current state (considering that missing magic is now a thing and skill cast is what players expect the most from wizards).

Another way to address that is by having more interaction on the basic elements of combat such as more C actions for two handed wielders and/or some sort of variance on how attacks are performed, even adding one or two AA modifying buffs could help a bit. Now i’d love to understand why Limacon still consumes SP (if the reason is to keep the damage it could easily be halved).

I think this should be a wizard default feature even if is as low as 1~3 per hit.

Who are you?
I haven’t been here in like two years

Instead of whining and insulting people, you could try to fix your SP problems by simply getting a single item with SP recovery. I’m sure your low SP chars with their low SP recovery would double or triple that value. Bonfires also don’t take 5 mins to replenish SP.

I also remember your smart suggestion to rush balance patch and how well it ended.

Keep telling people to roll an alchemist, it will end the same way.

Came back some weeks before RE:Build. Before I left the game 2 years ago invested all money into Uosis thinking if I ever come back I at least won’t have to worry about SP.

Just as Planned.

But to be honest, SP consumption for my Lv 390 Doc is decent. Doesn’t feel worse than before. But it must be killing the joy of low levels - that’s bad.

Also my new goal: Demon Lord Helgasercle card. Does anyone know the droprate of the card from the cube?

I kinda agree with you on everything. But is is hell of annoying equip all my character specific to maintain SP. Before Re:build i did that only to my Cannonneer and that is it, others could handle themselves with little to no SP-based equip and pot. Even my Cryo-Kino-Omi which had a really high SP usage i could handle using him. After rebuild i changed him to Cryo-Kino-Pyro and is almost unplayable. I do not have the best equip and i’m still organizing my team’s card, hats, gems, etc. but right now i’m having a lot of trouble with him.

The builds i’ve manage the SP cost are Outlaw-Linker-Corsair and Enchanter-Shinobi-Assassin. Mainly because i do not spam skill like crazy or i got the rotation right… idk.
I’m on my way to master Druid-Oracle-Sadhu’s sp management even with the high SP cost of buffs and damage skills. I believe i can do that with training.

These are my 3 main characters. The others do not have the investment needed and i worry i won’t be able to use them.

I feel sp consumption is better across the board personally, i remember chugging sp pots after 10 skills was common practice, it doesn’t feel the same anymore.
I can see it being an issue at low levels though but in the 300 range it’s such a massive improvement.

I believe the complaints will settle down once the SP pot prices in the market lower a bit. It’s amazing how easy it is to farm [redacted] by the way. You can farm [redacted] under [redacted] min of farming. Besides, [redacted].
I mentioned a few options for better SP management and forgot one of the simplest ways: don’t forget to do your weekly Uphill runs, because they give you those sweet purple potions. Using crafted or merchant pots + purple pots should be enough for most builds. Doing CM with Diev and/or Sorc bros also helps a lot.

For those who have problems with SP management: it is not that hard to deal with it. You don’t need a full set of equipment just to replenish SP.

My example: I have an Exorcist as my main. As I know I’m most likely to kill a dark type monster before anyone else in my party, I equipped 3 Specter Monarch cards. Super cheap back then, and now I barely use SP potions, as it recovers just enough for me to feel as a good SP replenish option.

Just check cards. A lot of them are overlooked from people. One of them might fit in your SP replenish needs, based on what your character do best.

I don’t overuse potions: only have lv 15 Alchemist ones with me

Shhht! I want to get rich before all meta golems realize it.
Game is hard. SP is cruel.

As someone that is pretty ultra-casual, I thought I’d share my experiences.

I have 4 characters that are all Lv 300-305. Every day that I’ve logged in, I’ve swapped around at least one job in order to find some form of nirvana. Goal: 1) Be able to kill stuff 2) Be able to not be killed too easily by stuff 3) Not use the entire SP gauge after I killed a few monsters.

I don’t know what these cards or SP gear is that people are talking about. That stuff isn’t given any attention within the game. How do I equip a card that’s not in a Sorcerer’s Grimoire? How do I find or make SP gear? None of that information is available to newer(ish) players and suggesting that those things are required to be able to play seemed kind of terrible.

I do not have my attributes maxed in most cases and I disable anything that says anything along the lines of “I shall ruin your SP”.

Huge SP potions don’t even recover half of my SP pool + the cooldown is too long to even be worth it. Grinding areas don’t allow for setting up a bonfire in enough spaces as there are mobs in every corner of every room… can’t sit down and recover that way, either. Lv15 Alchemist SP potions are 3.2k/ea. I have MAYBE 700k silver per character… I can not afford this.

So, I made an Alchemist and I spend the hour or so I have to play everyday farming Uosis. This is not fun. I don’t get to enjoy the game at all… it’s an endless loop. At least for now I get EXP killing those things so there’s that?

I really like Tree of Savior. It’s a very relaxing game, or at least it was. I think that the SP consumption increase is overall not a bad idea but the current state requires urgent attention. SP pots from the Item Merchant need to be useful at least until you get much closer to max level and the global cooldown needs to be about half, at the very least.

No sympathy for people who whine about a problem and then scoff at the solutions. They can leave again.
