So that's how it will be? [ToS is the KS heaven.]

Before someone comes just to say I’m one more kid crying on KS, I just want to say specifically for these: Screw you. I want to play a game here, and you guys are disturbing me.

Yes, I’m tired of reading about KS as a feature. Something that exists to annihilate the players considered “weak” (although I prefer to call them “civilized”).

I’m Squire with Peltasta skills. I’m not as strong as you might be, but surely I’m not tanking for you at all.

This, however, is an extreme case.

If bots and AFK players weren’t enough I will also have to postpone my plans whenever I see a Sorcerer. Why? I will explain.

Some of these guys think they own everything just cuz they have a Temple Shooter + Fireball (and sometimes a higly trained Companion as well)… Basically, a full KS build.

That’s right. Forget the RO AFKemists, that’s past for sure. ToS brought it to a whole new level where KS builds DO exist.

And when I tried to dialogue, he appealed to intimidation.

So, that’s how it will be…? Will some additional channels “solve” this? Apparently there are several threads about it and no official pronouncement on.

Well I don’t know for this particular sorcerer, but, I myself had been KSed like hell on the low level maps.
For a mage, a KS means 30 secs of ACD to wait before we can aggro the next mob. Talk about efficient leveling. So now when grinding, sometimes, I put my summon on the spot that I choose a minute ago and don’t mind if a guy came here in the meantime.

Problem is not new. Not enough maps, not enough mobs, not enough aggro. That’s what make players competing for the mobs.

edit : it should now be better with the “2 channels” update.

If you want to blame someone, blame barbarians and highlanders they ksed so much at the low lvls they turned everyone into a ■■■■■■■ because you have to be to compete with them.

One of the main problems I think it’s the fact that some maps lack a good number of mobs and also have just one channel, so when you meet up with too many people your level you’re screwed.

I talk from a priest point of view, I’ve been KS’d countless times, all I can do right now is wait or keep trying lol

Wow, same thing actually happened to me… though at that time I thought it was just a simple mis-click by the other player

I was in a quest which required me to kill X number of elite monster, so I moved to the marked field and was around halfway done, when a barbarian came along and started killing the same monsters I did - which made matters a bit more annoying since there’s very few of these monsters. And since I was about done, I put some distance between the barb, moving to the bottom part of the field (I was in the middle part of the field when the barb appeared).

Now I was nowhere near that barb at all (at least not in my field of vision) and when I managed to fill up my quota, suddenly this barb moved into my field of vision and this “Do you accept the Friendly Duel request from ____” pops up.

Seriously, these people need to get a life…

KSer would KS even if there’s lots of mobs and many channel. Think back your experience at Tenet Chapel. Many channels, lots of mobs, but when these guys form a party, they think every map they go is an Instance Dungeon where every monsters belongs to them no matter what their jobs are. Barb, Archers, Pyros…they’re all the same.

Its funny that clerics arent on that list as clerics are king in tenet because of all the holy weakness lol.

I’m sorc and I’m aware how dumb my summon AI is. Sometime it’ll hit thing around and can’t really control it. Usually I’ll just walk away to avoid it ksing someone nearby.

That’s true…? Cuz sometimes it was as if that thing was following me on purpose, and just attacking after my first attack. It was surreal.

The keyword for all this bullshit is COMPETITION. When IMC comes and talk that KS is acceptable because competition for monsters is expected, but give us zero ways for actually competing, the current situation raises.

I laughed so hard when i tried do make the life of a KSer a hell, KSing him. This was impossible. The guy just crapped im my mouth and i had to lower my head and accept it.

When in a party…most clerics gets too lazy to touch any monsters.
It’s easier being a walking herb…

If he set it to hold at spot then he’s camping. But if he moving around that thing will usually follow and attack thing around nearby. Sorc can’t really control which target it’ll attack and for me sometime it’s not even hit target that I’m attack. Only thing we can set is make it stay and attacking thing at specific spot.

So if he/she make it stay hold near you then something went wrong for sure.

Well, I talk mostly of maps that have some sort of quest associated to the mobs, that’s when it gets annoying since you can’t finish your quest and go to the next map/quest–otherwise personally I consider it a grinding spot and then anything goes unless they are idk, bots.

It’s about KSer…
Whether you’re farming, grinding, questing, it doesn’t really matter. They will just sweep everything clean in your area and move on like a tornado.

Been grinding at a high level map for some time now, didn’t experience any KS whatsoever even though some players were in a party and I was solo mobbing like 8 mobs. It kinda seems like the metaphorical 160 exp wall is also a wall that separates these trash plebeians from more civil ones although some do manage to get past it.

Yes, this game lacks anti-KS system. We should just ask IMC to add this feature in an OBT since it’s very discuraging for players at early lvls.

P.S. @drake_tempestos Where it was said that KS is a feature of this game? :<

Should have been at least 2 channels in ALL of the maps from the get-go.Did they think no one was going to reach the higher levels?

I just got over the 124 to 127 hurdle myself yesterday, and it took way longer than it should have because the grind spots were absolute nightmares.I had to give up on Starving Demon’s Way,because the amount of archers and sword classes ks’ing was unbelievable.Cast time as an Elementalist [or any wiz branch for that matter] screwed me over even further in some instances.I had friends kind enough to chase some of these rude people away, but more would just show up.I really hope they do add more channels, because this makes a bit of an unnecessary divide between players.

The single channel thing starts at around level 50. I’m sure they saw it coming. This is either some bizarre experiment or some kind of stress testing channels. Either way, it would be nice if you could simply change channel when the kill stealers show up. I suffered a bit as C3 cleric since I was waiting on cooldowns most of the time, I imagine mages with very high cooldowns must have it even worse. I also hear linkers are targets of kill stealing all the time.

[/quote] It’s simple! Hop on your main and follow him around, stealing all the mobs before he gets to them!
Also if you’re an archer (though this wastes mana) you can just oblique spam before they get to the monster.

As for dealing with sorcerors at high levels, I don’t really have an answer for that lols
this game really needs a monster claim system and an anti-camping feature in field/dungeon maps.
