This has nothing to do with the topic of whether being gay is right or wrong; that is an entire discussion of itself, I’m pretty sure most people on this forum are totally fine with gays and are only frustrated about the chaotic SJW drama, are trolling, or use homophobic terms out of context because they don’t feel it’s a big deal(like using gay as a synonym for stupid), either because they just don’t care or feel that words can take different meanings in different contexts…
The topic is about the word ‘‘gay’’ being censored, and it’s absolutely ridiculous that it is a censored word(along with many other words, I can’t say ‘‘suck’’ apparently. Really?).

And “bitch” is a word that originally used to describe female dogs so lets allow it too. F-word describes a sexual intercourse between two (or more) individuals which is common occurrence in nature (aside from fags - it happens but its not natural) so lets allow it too.
I would vote for an option to disable filter altogether than to allow any one word.

how hard is it to understand that the KOREANS make the list? The KOREANS think our gay and our suck are BAD words… they are words we use to degrade… its not that the word is a CURSE word… its NOT that the word is akin to the D word for penis … its not that its on par with the F word… its that the WORD is used negatively… These KOREAN game makers use a very very standard list of curse words used throughout most ALL of their games. Its like there is a common (government) website they get their curse word ban list from… its pretty standard in korean games… the ENGLISH words that are banned that you THINK shouldnt be, are ONLY because their language barrier believes they are more toxic than they are in YOUR mind… period… point blank… jesus christ i already explained this 70 posts ago.

I don’t get what you’re trying to imply here. I know very well that words can take different meanings and are very interchangeable with each other.
There was a post above saying ‘‘They censored the word gay because kids keep using it as an insult’’.
Even if people did keep using gay as an insult, and IMC saw that as a bad thing. That doesn’t mean they should be able to censor the entire word based on a couple of people using it insensitively; if we started censoring words that can be taken out of context and used as a derogatory insult we’d lose a large portion of our available dialogue in this game.
Personally, I believe that gay can be used as an insult, as long as the person using the term isn’t meaning any actual malice towards actual homosexuals and is just using it…to use it that way, but that’s just my personal belief and the majority of people out there think otherwise.

Well, the discussion really was going on its own objective. And as I say, ‘gay’ is just a word for me.
But as other player replied to the topic, I saw the word ‘discrimination’ and alike words.
Now, it came to my sense that ‘how come it has something to do with discrimination? Don’t they get it that this is an international game and other countries don’t prefer that? Don’t they get it that ‘gay’ is also used by other people as mock?’
Then, the discussion went on something like this…

To be fair, all instances of homosexuality I’ve read about in nature are not true homosexuality.
Dogs for example do not have the capacity to have sex for pleasure, at least from what I’ve read. They have to do degrading actions like humping other dogs as a non-lethal way of asserting their dominance, which is why they also hump human legs a lot of the time.
Frogs of many species will often attempt to mate with a male frog, but that is because the female produces such powerful pheromones and there is literally one female among possibly hundreds of frogs, and as soon as the other frogs see one of them mistaking one as a female, they will all jump to the occasion to beat it out of the competition.
Rabbits have extremely powerful sex drives and I believe they will copulate with the same sex because that is just in their instinctual nature, it was never intended for them to just have sex, it was to keep their offspring plentiful because they are an easily hunted species.
There are only a few species on earth that legitimately have pleasure from having sex, humans being one of them and I think whales or dolphins or something? So saying homosexuality happens in nature, when practically none of it is done in the context of an honest homosexual relationship is kind of hard to swallow.

They have changed rules in MMOS numerous times to fit the western area it was localized in, Mabinogi added in Gay marriage for starters.
This game was localized to the US and we’re definitely not as homophobic as Korea is. Sorry to bash on culture, but if Koreans are so immature that they feel the need to censor the word ‘‘gay’’ then I find them even less defensible than they currently stand.
It shouldn’t be censored here overseas, where we have a (more) tolerating crowd of people.
