Just refering this > “released popo shop again… complained”

Original post for popo shop 2: https://forum.treeofsavior.com/t/new-popo-point-shop-2/392444/6

Although i don’t like this word “complainted” you use, but why we can’t complaint about things that is ridiculous? They wanna release the event without doing the correct maths (unreachable 15000pts) and then suddenly they said there would be action points so players should able to get their 15000pts.

No matter they make it up this “action points” after they realised they can’t do simple maths or they forgot to put those on patch note. This clearly shows how careless they are and they don’t have any communication among departments.

And guess what? They still didnt correct their own mistakes. I appreciate the idea and reward of this event but could IMC do some proof-reading before they release an event. Besides this is not the first time, they do this kind of ninja-editing quite often and sometimes it seriously affects players’ schedule and game plan.

Was really hoping they’d release the new hairs, at this point my Haircut Voucher is just gonna expire.

Maybe we could try like, each week, discuss a specific feature/pain of the game and brainstorm on how to improve it? In way that promotes gameplay, but also keeps the game balanced and gives some money in return.

IMC should be the one initiating this. Do the players’ appeal thingy just like ktos. It’s clear that we have different concerns due to different server and community. Either ktos players are not asking many questions that are considered high priority to us, or IMC simply cherrypicked their questions.

Or just simply do an AMA like twice a year or something, where they will be forced to answer questions like ‘when can we expect a feature to deal with AFK players in dungeons’, ‘what is the design decision for setting different reset timings for Saalus entry and cube’, ‘Is heal tile suddenly being unable to heal objects in ET intended, and why if yes?’ and countless other questions. IMC is incredibly out of touch when it comes to QoS and QoL. Any guild / person who often interact with new players will easily know how many things confused and frustrated the hell out of them, and is really a recurring thing with every new / returning player.

Currently the Q&A in popolion posts simply don’t feel personal at all when we don’t even know where they pull those questions from and we know it’s incredibly cherrypicked. I never enjoyed reading that section, it simply felt too crafted. In many other games, there are often major patches that is not about contents, but a LONG list of QoL and QoS changes to the game. Tos hasn’t done such major patch even once, cause I bet it’s the same team working on everything, rather than having a specific teams dedicated to QoL and QoS.

Don’t worry, next big update is around the corner. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get new level 380 raids for Halloween update along with a new event. The only thing that annoys me is having all my support tickets with obvious bugs (and videos/screenshots showing an obvious way to reproduce them) answered with “verify your game files”…

i’m pretty sure you misunderstood that the action points is not for this coming poposhop event ‘w’;;

but rather a response when i asked if there are future plans to prevent afk players collecting PPpoints ‘w’;

The afk players collecting popolion points is not an issue but in fact the goal of the popolion point shop.
The same with the fishing event, to keep players ingame even if they are afk.

I hate afk content, the popolion shop was ok,though, as long as it had Raid Portal Stones.
Now I’m not going to waste energy on being afk in a game that offers so little for endgame except HP sponge bosses like Velcoffer and Demon Lords that are drafted in a way that you need the defence reduction of certain few Classes to even beat them without having godlike Velcoffer equipment already.

If at least every base Class had one valid way to decrease defence [magic defence for Cleric & Wizard] by a good margin (25, 30 or 50%) or ignoring defence so the players don’t have to suffer on certain builds and struggle on this kind of content…

Demon Lords showcase it’s fine since it allows a lot of players and builds pooling together their debuffs/reductions, but I don’t think it’s fair that certain Classes have a built-in defence ignore/reduction (like Musketeer, who’s already the strongest Class from buffs and weapon stats) and can breeze through this content while other have to face the full defence wall in front of them.

Then there is the not-yet addressed issue of magic amplification vs. critical attack and how IMC just brings another legendary boss card(that whatever its name was-mage card that gives raw crit, Marnox already gives minimum crit chance) for physical dealers and only one bad card for magic users (Mirtis) that only has an effect if you’re in elemental disadvantage.
Bosses don’t block/evade and still have a low crit resistance that can be circumvented with a simple lvl 16/17 Zalciai scroll, thx IMC for the free critical chance of 20%+.

This game has so many issues from start to end, the content is boring and not really engaging
(except for Uphill Defence, that one is actually fast-paced and fun, but it’s not really rewarding; maybe IMC should consider putting Raid Portal Stones/Recipes inside the cubes and add Opal and Blessed Shards,too, so you can get your raid entries from here)
to the point where the only hard thing to do is to manage your equipment durability and potions while the fights are drawn out to infinity by huge amounts of HP and defence.

The new raids will only add to this problem, another two useless legendary boss cards for magic users like me, another Raid Stone bleed since there is no stable way to produce them aside of challenge mode x times a day (which is also drawn out by an increasing defence wall so certain Classes can’t really do much at the higher stages without trans 10 Velcoffer equip) + farming Opals like a madman.

Maybe IMC can consider offering 3 free entries per unique raid per week&team and then costing Raid Stones for additional entries, who knows.
I certainly don’t want to farm shards and opals for the current kind of system where there is no longer any good way to get Raid Portal Stones and the possible outcome is just trash in 70+% of the cases that I also can get via Uphill Defence or Hunting Grounds…

I don’t want to prophesy a bleak future, but the current situation the game is in certainly isn’t good.
It doesn’t help that we get broken and/or empty patches every week just to bring another log in event or another cash shop rotation :frowning:

no really, it is a response when i asked if there will be multipliers for non afk players to get PP points better than afk players, thus discouraging afk players to just afk

the response is not a means to make the black costume more attainable when people complained on the amount of points it has to take

Well, there are two issues that make it harder for iTOS to have a similar Q&A to kTOS:

  • iTOS is understaffed, only this year they managed to finally have some reinforcements;
  • Due to cultural and language barriers, it’s much easier for IMC to do a closer feedback loop with kTOS/kTEST;

That said, we, as a community, can do one of two things: keep complaining that they don’t listen to us and enjoy the boat slowly sinking, or we could try doing something of our own, so we are noticed and then they can turn it official.

For example, every month or so we could compile a list of questions for the staff to send to the developer team. Or even have someone from the community ‘infiltrated’ on kTOS forums to ask those questions for us.

EDIT: Basically, the major issue at the moment is compiling the feedback in a coherent way. Because at the moment feedback is scattered all over the forums, and people request all sorts of diffrent things, many incompatible

Ok, i misunderstood for the actions points part.

So now good luck everyone getting their 15000points. Enjoy this achievable but ridiculous afk shxt.

and enjoy the boat slowly sinking

I’m sure most of us here don’t mind this part if this is how IMC continues to be. The boat sinking issue is IMC’s problem, not players’. I have over 5000 hours clocked in this game and shall continue to clock in more, but I can easily move on should the game becomes dead. This will be far from the first game that I have played for countless hours to become dead and I proceeded to find another. Not sure about IMC and their employees though. And the issues you mentioned are also IMC’s issues to solve. Players should never cater to the company’s issue of being understaffed for more transparency and feedback.

You need to understand that it’s not about us but about IMC. Their support is a black hole. Anything that says “we will forward your report to the appropriate department” rarely (I wouldn’t say never, but it’s almost that) leads to anything.

Do you think they didn’t get enough feedback about their game in past 2+ years?
We have this afk popolion system now, so do you think it’s because people complained about the lack of free handouts for multiaccount afkers?
The (not so) new Ichor system? Do you think they implemented it because people complained about the lack of soul crushing RNG systems?
The Beauty Shop? Did you see a lot of feedback about the lack of yet another almost empty TP shop?

Well, I’m not familiar with IMC’s support as I never required it, so I can’t comment on that.
However I can comment on what I think were the reasons behind those specific changes.

  • As I mentioned on my EDIT, the problem with iTOS feedback is that it is scattered through all the forums, it’s very inconsistent (people usually recommend incompatible changes) and back then IMC understaffed so they couldn’t organize all of it
  • The AFK popolion system is a simple way to increase user engagement. It makes people login every day, which is usually the most difficult step, and then people end up playing for some time. Same reason as, for example, mobile games show you a notification in case you haven’ checked the game for some hours. Of course then people love exploiting the system by multiboxing, but that’s an issue that not only affects this specific feature, but the entire game.
  • The ichor system is a slow paced gear progression system, created as a response to the constant ‘lack of endgame/things to do’ cry. IMC needs time to rework the rest of the game, but also needs to keep the hardcore dedicated players busy during that time. This was their response.
  • The Beauty Shop was created as a way of promoting one of TOS strengths: the extremely cute and varied costume design. It’s unfortunate it’s full of TP only items, but fashion endgame is still one of TOS biggest money makers.

I’m not saying these were the best changes ever, but there was a reason behind them. And overall the game has been improving throughout 2018

Indeed, there is a reason behind everything. And there’s also a reason why this game is in such a dire state and keeps sinking deeper and deeper.
Maybe IMC needs to rethink their priorities or mabe even their whole vision of mmorpgs because all those super-duper highly-demanded “improvements” they brought throughout 2018 didn’t do much (and might even have made the game worse for some people).

Also, the AFK system is just that, an afk system, the only thing it does is inflate Steamcharts numbers. Why not just mine crypto and then buy TP with the money instead of leaving your game run 24/7.
Other mmos made by sane developers would give you something for logging in daily and then give another something for staying online up to 1 or maybe 2 hours.

And now look at things to come and ask yourself “did people really ask for this? will it really improve whatever it’s trying to improve?”. You’ll then realise how IMC operates: throwing crap against a wall and see if it sticks… and it never sticks.

Their support is a black hole because 99.9% of the things the community complains about are utter nonsense. Eventually you do begin to filter out the .1% of good feedback because you’re so used to said utter nonsense.

A lot of the feedback they get is also literally in the next content patch, every single time, but most people lose track of future updates.

Tracking those in an easier to consume format might help, actually… Hmm…

“I want more things to do in game that will last for several months.”
“Oh okay, here’s Velco.”
“No you don’t understand, I don’t want that, I want instant gratification.”
“???”

So I’m like hey we need more content like Velco which gives us tons of stuff to do and a big thing to farm for, for the next few months. And then you’re like yeah just give me the legendaries bro I don’t have time for that ■■■■. And I’m like well I have 2 sets of it and have nothing to do now, and IMC is like yeah sorry no one wants that.

One of us is gonna be disappointed here. Is it going to be the one who does a whole bunch of things in game to get the super high tier goal? Or the one who gets his one thing instantly and doesn’t log on again for 3 months?

edit: lol hit submit too fast

How does IMC even respond to feedback like that? Almost all of it would be “next patch fixes it” or “we’re working on something like it.”

The only major failings there are that they aren’t working on it very quickly, and most of those things split the community in two. Like PVP balance, and apparently PVE gear strategy.

What you are saying yet again is basically just how everything is the players’ fault. You are just looking for excuses for IMC.
Truth is, IMC faces the same issues as any other game developer. And IMC completely fails where others tend to succeed.
You wouldn’t imply that ToS’ players are dumber and more rabid than players from other games, right?

And your velcoffer example is hilarious. If IMC’s response to “I want more things to do in game that will last for several months.” is simply adding more dumb RNG with stupidly low chances of success, then this is where the real problem is.
You somehow managed to transform “I hate RNG” into “I want instant gratification”.
