Remaking Dragoon for C2

I changed from lvl 1 spear lunge to lvl 5 ( + zega spear become lvl 7 )
and the damage output become much more stable, after this i check taiwan forum , they said need to up lvl 10 , the damage amplified not increased anymore,i use lvl 7 also seldom get resists, but my hoplite 2 only able to let me test til lvl 7, but damage output is a lot stable it is the truth.

I get the info at taiwan tos forum , they already tested lvl 1 to lvl 10 dude.

And I tested for myself, Lv1 to Lv4, absolutely no difference…

I can probably agree that “the damage is more stable”, but that’s RNG…Which I can’t use as proof for anything.

Why bash at lvl 1 ???

I was supposed to put it at Lv3, but I decided I rather have it to poke things at early game over 1second of pain barrier than 3seconds of pain barrier for a knockdown that everyone asks me to remove on party play.

If you’re willing to follow the same build, feel free to change it to Lv3 or Lv0, doesn’t matter, go with what you believe is more right.

Its personal preference, and not a decision that would kill your build or change it entirely, unlike Spear Lunge & Stabbing.

Also entirely removed synchro thrusting, you will not be using that skill once you reach Dragoon, which would benefit pierce more.

Remember that this is a bossing/party bossing build, so 2H spear bonus from dragoon attributes & pierce C2 attribute are quite useful (around half stabbing’s damage at Lv8~10, more or less against bosses).

I think bash knockdown can be really cool CC for mobbing at late game solo play, when things get tough farming… but u say this build is for group play and I think pain barrier is so OP too :S

Yeah main reason I made this build is C2 Dragoon, and you really don’t want to have that serpentine party buff wasted for solo play alone :joy: especially not with Peltasta as a rank in it.

So pain barrier at lvl 4 worth or need lv 5 for what u say ? Can I drop gun go to lvl 3?

You can drop some levels from both Gungho & Concentrate (I have Lv4 concentrate on my main and it doesn’t make much of a difference, due to stabbing & rush, basically multi hit skills counts as 1) just make sure it is still uptimed, Concentrate & Gungho’s main bonus is from attributes anyway, you will only be worried about duration & maximum hit limit.

And I still don’t know how much is enough for double pay earn… investing 2 points looks fine but if it doesn’t work with stabbing, it will be impossible to use almost, and 4~5 levels on DPE are just a little bit too much (especially with Mord gaining 171 dmg per level, with overheat, granted its not a core skill but a good filler to have…)

So, Lv4 DPE or ? need advice from someone who tested it with both cyclone & stabbing.

You should get Bash to lvl 3, I have 2 swordman lvl ~ 230 and I like Bash a lot. I use it to :
/push stray mobs into Frost Cloud/Broom Trap/…
/push range mobs into each other to kill both at the same time
/panick skill in some situation
/do some collect quest but too lazy to kill the mobs around
/might good for pvp

If you use it mindlessly, of course ppl will get mad. But Bash kd is easy to control (unlike Mordchlag) … You can go with Bash 3 - Gung ho 3 - Concentrate 4 - Pain Barrier 5

No, I wasn’t using it mindlessly, I was using it when we had no heal or heal doesn’t heal in time and I was dying due to provoke, or to mash mobs together for aoes, but I had autistics teammates who were like “OMG KD=BAD DON’T USE IT”, beside, I still have other skills for KD, I understand that Bash is good due to its low cooldown & 3 overheat charges but its not love & life, especially not for this build, again, personal preference, most people will rather have it with KD while I rather have few more seconds on pain barrier to be able to use rotations safer since I’m more concerned about bossing on this build (granted, grinding for levels might be slightly more painful, but the same goes to the fact that you don’t have access to a 2H spear until R7, which is pretty bad for a 2H spear focused build.), its just not a rule that should apply to everyone at all cost.

You can have both Bash 3 and Pain Barrier 5, right ? I don’t see a problem

My pelt1>hop3>doppel1>dragoon have only 3 kd: Bash + Umbo Blow + Mordchlag (Long Stride cd is too much to mention) and Bash is the best kd:

/When you face north, all mobs will be kd to the north, the distance between kd mobs stay the same. Mordchlag/Earthwave/Doom Spike will make mobs fly all over the place
/The kd distance is not too far like max attribute Umbo blow, fast animation

There will always have some ppl gone batshit with the tiniest of things. Like when i play fifa, some trigger because i do 1 normal slide. No need to let ourself be affected by them, unless you really use it at the wrong place :sweat_smile:

I still don’t find it that necessary, it did help on my other swordsman, but I can live without it on a different build (especially since I already made the decision by now), at worst I’ll see if I really need it later after capping, and if it is the case I’ll wait for a free skill reset from IMC Kappa.

But I’ll change it on the build just so that people get less triggered about it or repeat what was already said.(and of course, for those who plan to follow this for some reason)

Again, still more concerned about the DPE part, need answers…

DPE is really great. As long as you have at least lvl 2, it fine. So up to you (I prefer lvl 4 because Mordchlag is just for kd, if you want damage maybe auto-attack is stronger)

DPE does not work really well with Stabbing and Cyclone and any true multi-hit skill :neutral_face: (but seem ok for fake multi like Pierce) I mostly use DPE when there is a strong nuker in party. Use swashbuckling to pull ~15mobs, active DPE and wait for Elememe blow all of them in 3s. 100% extra exp. Same goes for Siaulai mission

That’s helpful, didn’t know it applies even if allies kill the monsters…

Seems like I could have invested those points from spear lunge testing into Lv8 pierce for a somewhat-legit nuke, oh well…

I’ll get Lv4 then.

Updated main post with the final skill distribution, for those interested into stats allocation, I went with 20DEX/100CON/rest into STR, mainly because high level gloves are good enough to have max accuracy, and being able to switch gloves to proc sissel is not bad at all (I had 80DEX on my old swordsman and it was harder for me to proc sissel although it wasn’t impossible either).

Which means, you might want to consider a different distribution for points according to your own use & playstyle in case anyone is willing to follow this build.
