right, all im saying is that certain people will ALLWAYS complain about something that is “totally unfair”

One thing i do wonder would be how IMC check the status on class balancing.

I had another MMORPG i played which has a ridiculous class discrimination and also meta.

and the way they balance it is by looking at a population rather than what the class can do and how powerful it is and it usefulness.

We had this class which is ridiculously underpowered and near useless, but it population is high only due to it appearance or skill animation looking too great thus it attracted many newbies. but it trash at the end and is never invited into any raid content at the end and kick out from party mostly.

Isn’t that how swordmans was at the start of TOS?
Sword always being popular and mainstream in every MMO or Game out there that no one cares about how shyt it is as long as it looks cool.

But yeah seriously magic need a nerf i am already having a hard time tanking them in dungeon.
Then again in my Fire emblem instincts. Magic>Armored Tanks. ==

So much for having this many offense circles on swordmans.

Was it FFXIV btw? I was a dragoon and we went through the same situation. They gave the most iconic and heroic job to us but we sucked hard for over a year because we were 60-70% of the population.

I don’t think its really unfair i mean its the same with every class. Some circles are just so mediocre they’ll never be viable but people take it anyway because “its fun” for them. Once they get a few hundred level they started crying about their class being too weak. Swordsman just have more of these circles than other classes.

People need to realize certain builds are fotm for a reason. They’re fotm because people have tested it and its safe, it works and totally viable at all stages of the game.

Personally there’s only one thing that swordsman need to make the class viable:

A resolve system where if you are disabled for too long you will be immuned to cc for a few second. Swtor has this system because no one likes to be chain stunned, and it works pretty well. Opens up alot of room to make big plays in pvp and pve too is fun.

And this system should be for every class, not just swordsman. There’s no way getting chain stunned without being able to do anything is “balanced” and “fun” for anyone.

From the way I see it. Swordies are crying since they have no way to get rid of stuns and being frozen.

Well, we will need a Marc card for Unfrozen armor and stacking Stun immunity

Currently 10 out of 12 swordman circles are like that, so of course people will cry (only pelt and doppel see some light)

Except it abit more different than what i had told.
Dark Summoner is a very unpopular class, rare to even find one ingame.
No DPS. It synergy is also not that great and it cause everyone went light elemental. plus this game is full of bandwagoner becus bangwagoning to a OP class makes some content more tolerable to clear.

It also cause the community is bad at learning the game mechanics or boss attacks which causes many pt wipes so they rely on OP dps class to blow through before the mechanic activates.

The Dev at KR noticed it and announce that they are gonna revamp it but delay it many times until they finally release their plans on how they are gonna revamp it which is turning it into a high burst dps.

When people saw the plan they revealed everyone bandwagon to it with hype for it revamp.
End up the dev realize "hey there is suddenly a spike of players using this class, Okay let not revamp it anymore cus it no longer needs a revamp."
Yup cancelled in the end cause they suddenly notice it population went up.

In the end the class never got it revamp until another year later but it no longer following that original revamp plan despite it population drop low again after it got announced as cancelled.

Other than that i still wonder why some stuff such as skyliner nerf is exclusive to ITOS. Only thing i can suspect might had been the outcry during cbt2 where players were complaining that swordman=ezmode and totally make archer a dead class. If that is indeed true, then i can say it like Japan Ragnarok and Korean Ragnarok both server pleasing majority of their own player by editing whatever stuff to suit their own players.

play sword build it pure dps then train it least till 150 then play another class lets say archer as i took archer and compare them and tell me if u wanna go back to ur dps sword again rofl.

Take a simple example (I played DPS sword till level 235)

  • Me swordie 1-50: omg me so strong, only eat 20 HP pots until level 50
  • Then I roll archer: omg me so strong, stronger than sword, free SP pot, no need HP till 50, ranged ftw
  • Then I roll wizard: omg me so strong, stronger than archer, no HP, no SP needed, ranged and CC ftw

I’m not going back to my swordie now, sadly

yes that explains perfectly what happened to me , i’ve no plans of going back to my sword after i get it to corsair c2 not until IMC fixes its sht DPS, i built dps over upgraded my sword but sadly still getting low dps.

Really hoping they fix this class because I’m in the same boat. Got my dps swordie to 132 and was really disheartened how long it took to do absolutely everything. My QS3 archer is level 103 now and the difference is, insane. I was already outdmging my swordie by the end of QS2 but as soon as I got QS3 and running shot, it was game over.

What’s the point of giving a class dps circles when equally geared archers literally 50 levels below you deal more damage than you. There’s something wrong with that picture.

yes as others have stated the class needs a rework not only its circles but the class as a whole everything must be reworked it lacks so much love from the devs seriously.

swordsman is a combo class to be precise, i’ll give you a combo for example
helm chop->cleave->thrust->double slash
helm chop for stun->cleave recieves bonus dmg when enemy is stunned->thrust for bleeding effect->double slash gets bonus dmg when enemy is bleeding. that’s 4 skills total
whilst my QS3 just uses running shot and spams auto attacks and do like 3-4x the dmg my sword did using the combo i’ve stated.
just meh right? lol.

Yes, because the Physical vs Magic is already very balanced, you are completelly right. Lets see, MAGIC:

  • Instant cast.
  • Unblockable (not even with shield, that is also other thing weird: be forced to build the same build with shields for all swordsman, only to have any chances of survive, so 2H Spear/Swords continue to be useless, but since not even with shield this work, its ok, not even with sage wall, its fine, is unblockable).
  • Undodgeable. (If you cant block, why also dodge? you crazy?)
  • Big Area of Damage with Big Damage. (Because unique targets with small damage is for the swordsman! They Love it).
  • Constants Skills[lots of powerfull skills]. (Who dont like to use one powerfull skill after another?).
  • Skills of Protection that also make damage.

But the most beloved balanced thing:

  • The class that make more damage, is also the class that has the most high HP, meaning even if someone touch the wisard, he can have much more chances of survive after that.

only those who lack knowledge about this game can called it fair when talking about magic/physical class

or they are just some magic classes player who always want to be on top, that 's why the against the opinion that want physical class stronger

or maybe they are to stupid that they don’t even know how to compare

god knows …

but the problem is from IMC itself, it’s already near 6 months since KR grand open and their balance on this game is pretty like shiet

If you change con-block you also screw up a lof of chars. Dex is strong enough as it is giving accuracy and crit rate

Con only gives hp and block if you nerf block con will be way worse than dex.

Almost all wizard build get around 40 ~ 50k HP, they can go PVE and do all stuffs and will do the most damage of the party.

A sword FULL oriented PVP build with high con get around 30 ~ 40k HP, bacause they need to invest in DEX and STR to hit. They can’t go PVE and the damage sucks.

After fixing the hitbox of all swordman skill IMC need to change the CON atribute, wizards need to get less HP from CON than any other classes and swords need to get a lot more.

Why build INT if you can get Animus and invest in a Full CON build?
This game is bias towards Wizards, it’s not even funny.

Let’s coerce the Staff to play as nothing but Swordsmen (And maybe a single healer if we want to be nice and show how even Clerics do better damage).

But really. If they change most of the flat increases into percentile increases like every other damn class in this game, Swordies will see dramatic improvement although that’d only be the base of the problem solved. I know IMC doesn’t want a repeat of what happened to Barbs, but why the hell not at this point? Scale our damage up, we deal with more troublesome things to.

In terms of who actually has to be considerate and monitor to protect the party’s survivability, it goes Cleric > Swordsmen > Wizard > Archer. However, for our priority, we just straight suck at anything. We can’t tank (I even find Pelt/Rodel pointless too, all this mainly for bulky Slithering), we can’t DPS (Unless you purposely get hit to attack with Deeds), and we’re just stuck to being basically anything and nothing at the same damn time.
