Real name of the game: Tree of no Swordsman

We will just keep getting ignored by IMC.

It was the same with Ragnarok Online from the prespective of Open Beta. You had mages and archers easily killing things 50+ their levels while swordsmen struggled to kill stuff at their level unless they were decked out in gear from being an alt.

IMC just hates us plain and simple. I’m about through with this game.

Their silence or ignoring the dozens of threads complaining about several legitimate issues. Absolutely poor communication and transparency. The only class that seems to be getting fixed regularly is rodelero but that is only 3 ranks at most of the dozens of others and we don’t even get a hint that those changes will get here anytime soon.

Meanwhile people that have been playing wizards and archers from the start had a huge advantage over us. They’ve been farming bosses literally making dozens of millions of silver and having several more options and freedom to making their character from day one. While we are nothing but monitored swash buckle slaves having to pay 2x or 3x more repair than anyone else.

The damage is irreperable and it is unforgivable they’d release a game like this. They can do nothing to redeem themselves.

Damnit that’s the 3rd time today I’ve heard that game mentioned. I was fighting so hard with my urge to replay it.

I think you have it backwards and all Mana is the Tree of Mana.

Legend of Mana is my personal favorite. Wish SE would remake it like they did Star Ocean and etc.

My love for Mana is part of why this game interested me.

i still don’t understand why block can’t work against magic.

Or evasion. I know, I know, I’ve been told they can’t crit so it makes up for that but um… a little more damage with crits that misses seems a bit more fair than damage that will surpass crits since it never misses.

They just conveniently forget that in order to crit, physical classes have to sacrifice STR and invest into DEX, which result in lower damage than STR in average (someone did make calculation about that, only rank 7 archers benefit from DEX more than STR)

So yeah, either make magic miss, or remove all evasion

i don’t mind which but their are two so one would do. i was thinking block because magic users have more reason to invest in spirit than dex, so, it would make it more of a build choice than a nerf.

they could even leave ground skills and traps as is.

The fact magic is unavoidable and there is no good way to negate damage makes magic far superior to physical. Hell, it does the same if not more damage than physical. In a PvP setting, physical is screwed more often than not. Both the evasion and block function needs to some how be adjusted for it to be fair play.

Let them crit. Make the damage less if it’s always going to hit, though I know this is not a favorable idea, but that’s how it works in most MMOs. Whoever designed the mechanics for this mess was doing so blind or really favored magic classes.

Mainly block need to be addressed, since both CON and stone skin increase it, which make full CON wiz powerful against physical classes.

On top of that the only way to counter block is SPR, which is 100% useless for physical classes.

If they make block penetration based on STR or something, then it would help a lot

If they change DEX-evasion, it will screw up a lot of chars. And to some extend, evasion is more tolerable than block because DEX build is somewhat useful for physical class, unlike SPR vs block.

Just give swordsman classes the ability to break through certain buffs. Eg. Make stone skin not be immune (even when block is high enough) to certain powerful strike skills from certain swordsman classes. As for closing the gap, if they use up stamina, they should have a reduced rate of receiving damage while on the skill, as that would give non-mounted classes a better chance at closing the gap. Some, better than others.

i remember in CBT 1 where barbarian was crowned the king class. i say just keep giving non rant and non troll posts about unbalance and it will get fixed

barb is king class because the max lvl was low and early game is where swordie shines. pass lvl 200 classes like barbs and 2h “dps” swordsmen (lellll) are nothing but deadweight except maybe sw3 > cata 3 > goon, which is good for pvp, and corsair, which is good for $$$. (decent for pvp)

And since the game’s not even designed around pvp i dont know why people opt to go for these pvp builds anyway. In a game plagued with latency issues and class balance problems there’s no point trying to prove your better than someone.

Take a pelt and save yourself some trouble.

In a way it provides protection against themselves, but defense is so worthless its not even funny talking about.

Defense is hardly worthless. It’s the best stat in the game against mages, since most of their skills are multi hits and not large single target hits.

If you have an Aias and a Tham 2, that talent alone gives you almost 400 magic resist.

That’s a 33% reduction on all Warlock skills. Over 50% on all cryo skills.

Magic Def doesn’t scale flatly. So it’s, actually, a lot more useful than you think.

Like you said, the irony. That skill is on a class that steamroll melee chars, who need the defense the most.

Pain Barrier gives high resistance, not immunity. Sounds fair when you see Subzero Shield from cryomancers giving 60-70% chance to freeze. This skill alone disable every other class in the game, not only swords. It reflects all kinds of damage, from poisons to AoE damaging skills. I don’t know if the changes will fix this, I only read it removing the freeze proc from ranged attacks.

If they add items like that attribute (the one who gives more % of magic defense) I would be more than happy.
