i think the game would do much better without the wizard class!

The point is we want to see the close combat tree of the game become even with all the others. Some people, myself included, only really enjoy close combat in MMOs. Whenever someone says “just play another class” or “quit the game”, it defeats the purpose of making the game grow to be better.

Remove wizards and archers. Now you only have melee tanks, melee DPS and support/healers

The point is to make the classes all have usefulness, period. What’s the point in most of the circles in Swordsman being DPS when everyone can out DPS you, and to top it off at a safe distance? It’s pretty much the close combat niche which is a huge market for any MMO, so from a financial stand point having an entire tree not working as intended will cause them to lose money. The disadvantages to whole branch of classes have been listed, specific circles and generalization, in idk how many threads now, so I won’t even go into it.
And comparing RO, when iRO had no control over any class balancing and it was four-five years behind kRO isn’t a very good comparison. A quarter of the amount of classes as well (soon to be more here); most having their specific niche that actually worked. The only one truly broken was Wanderer, they became pretty useless unless paired with a Maestro.

Well, there’s balancing and selfish wants. Majority usually rules, and selfish balancing 9/10 never comes into fruition. Ten players complaining about Warlock not being OP enough compared to 1,000+ (may even be too low of a starter number) between iToS and kToS is entirely different. There’s a real problem here that is acknowledged by most who play the class. If you don’t want to get involved though, don’t. Trying to discredit people wanting justifiable fixes by saying there are selfish people who want to be OP doesn’t help.

Are the staff aware of the many posts about the Swordsman’s decadent situation? Are you guys passing this feedback to the balance/development team? Can we expect some positive changes or buffs coming to the international ToS?
i was just being ridiculous but, playing a wiz is almost like those videos of hackers with speed and hit-the-whole-area hacks.

As of current I’m not even sure if the swordsman is really that bad (I know its underpowered), or the player is bad.
I mean, most player don’t even know how to time their shield or use crossguard, let alone avoiding aoe skill.
As a Wiz 3 Ele 3 Warlock (yes, not the best pvp class), the class I’m afraid the most beside cloaking archer which can one shot me when im not prepared, is cata 3. If he caught me when I don’t have Dark Theurge on, I’m done for.
I think we’ve deviated from the main problem here, which is not really with Swordsman being Underpowered but with Magic being Overpowered in the game.
Anyone who denies this then please provide your arguments as to why magic isn’t overpowered and we’re all just over reacting.
One of the main issues i have with the game right now is the lack of good Magic Defense items, in order for a Swordie(who isn’t a FULL CON swordie because thats fucking retarded) to not get destroyed by both PvP and PvE magic damege we need to equip a Cloth set, and Cloth-type equips gives us 0 ■■■■■■■ advantage. Not only Wizzies and Clerics have the best defensive skills against magic damage, they can also take full use of the Cloth-type mastery as it gives them a lot of good stuff like SP/SP recovery/Magic Amp.
The ONLY good MDEF item in this game currently, in my opnion, is Glass Bracelets.
Why do i consider Glass Bracelets to be the best MDEF item?
1 - All classes in the game can equip it
2 - It’s tradeable
3 - It’s a bracelet so you can equip two of these without affecting your core set.
4 - It also gives a fair amount of Block Penetration, which is perfect because SPR is super underpowered right now.

Tbh Magic Damage is not overpowered. The CC by mage class is. For DPS wizard, you either kill them instantly, or get bombed instantly. For full CON pvp wizard though, it’s a slow and painful, but certain death.
A swordie going high to full CON with buff can often destroy a mage in pvp unless against cryo 3/kino 3.
mages r op in this game, all they need is a con nerf (only for wizards though)

int scales badly in this game, but bcuz they such high base damage, they dont need any int, they only need to focus on 1 stat, while every other class needs more than 2 stats. bcuz they have such high base dmg, and bcuz int scales badly, they have no choice but to go full con. so they end up with 50k hp, and 100k base dmg, and 50 freezes
You aren’t looking at the whole picture, that scenario only applies to a 1v1 PvP scenario, as we’ve seen in Battle League the PvP focus in this game is team based, not 1v1 so swordies won’t have a chance to “run-down” Clerics/Wizzies in a 5v5 scenario, they’re just going to be kited/CC’ed the entire time.
You’re also not taking into consideration the PvE side, FULL CON swordies don’t deal any damage and only serve as a punching bag, since Swordies skills don’t have high base damage(compared to wizzies/archers) and scale poorly towards the end game, FULL CON Swordies aren’t nearly as powerfull as FULL CON Wizzies. Wizzies have the high base damage, the AoE and even the defense to make it possible, Swordies only have the defense.
