[RANT] In 7 days, I've encountered 4 bugs/problems

As we know the iToS’ server has less and less players. People are saying that the problem is in the gameplay and bots, while I kinda agree but I think the major issues are the game and the people in charge.

In the span of just 7 days(or less), I’ve experienced 3 bugs/problems.

  1. Unable to login after a ninja patch
If you had played during last friday or so you will know that there was a login problem after a ninja patch(and right before reset too). It was fixed within half a day, BUT! The fix was found by the community instead of the officials in charge. There was no official announcement about the patch nor an announcement regarding the problem and the fix. No compensation whatsoever was given out for the inconvenience caused, which sucks cause a lot of people have limited playtime. [Although the next login problem which is the api-something error was fixed asap so thats a plus for IMC]

  2. VGA errors
After the patch there are also tons of VGA errors which occured for no reason and it took them 1 day+/- to fix it.

  3. Instant dungeon/mission not resetting
This issue is still going on and IMC acknowledged it, but there are no additional communication on the problem and the playerbase are left dry without dungeons to do. New players are stopped dead in their tracks from leveling up. Again, no compensation was even given out (I heard some people got 2 dungeon resets, but only on 1 character, and they have to submit a ticket to get it). The “compensation” for people was 2 resets for 3 days of problem on 1 character, ignoring people with alts, come on, not only veterans make alts, new players do too, so dont argue about that please.

  4. New recruit event bug
There’s a new bug in town that players found out, including myself. The booster packs is bugged out, the bug causes the booster pack to give 2 tokens and nothing else that is promised in the event list. Furthermore, the booster packs also magically disappears like the one ring, I opened the 2 token at 150 level and got nothing else, while there are still 8 as stated by the event, I was only left with 5 packs.

People are asking why the game has so little players, here’s some of the problems, all presented within a week of playtime. Shtty bug problems, and especially shtty communication from IMC’s part. As for the gameplay stuff, I’m only 7 days in so I have no idea how it affects the state of the game.

To end this I wanna say that I love playing this game, I clocked 77 hours in just these few days without selling buffs or repairs, it’s just that these problems are really getting on my nerves, if not for the new player event I’d quit for now and come back after my semester ends. Thanks for reading and share your opinion or just ignore this post! /rant

They never tested the event or is it a very new bug?

Excuse me, do you have documented proof that you encountered these bugs or are you just telling lies on the forums?

Did you file a report or are you just here to complain? Are you going to help IMC fix the bug or do you expect them to fix these bugs all by themselves?

No one on my discord has had any of these problems so until you prove it exists I see no reason IMC or anyone else should take this seriously :v

Every game has bugs it is alright take a deep breath no need to be hasty. They are working hard around the clock to fix these things a little birdy told me.

Have you ever considered in the mean time making a Necromancer or Oracle to vent some stress?

Afaik the event was working properly, it was broken after the Token change to be per team reward (instead of per character).

The problem might have happened after this. I’ve heard people getting to Lv.290 without problems in the first days.

The cleric character in the image is a Bokor.

some reply here is pure gold. LuL

Didn’t have the issues you listed, but I’m only level 81 so far, so I have yet to open all the new recruit event boxes.

They are working hard around the clock to fix these things a little birdy told me.

The last time I played this game was in CBT, now that I have come back after… is it 1 year? I don’t remember, but sometimes it’s still impossible to interact with quest objectives in mouse mode, so I have to switch controls just to interact with a single object/character.
If it takes this much time of working around the clock and issues that new players are likely to run into are still not fixed, I’m worried it’s not a matter of working a lot, but a matter of prioritisation and expertise. Same with the story quest “The Hidden Sanctum’s Revelation (1)”), Not being able to proceed with the story quest is a gamebreaking bug, yet it exists for days.

This game has great content and gameplay and I’m having a lot of fun, but all those little things and minor annoyances pile up and just make me doubt the developers’ passion for this game and I hesitate to spend money on it. Probably still will, hopeful as I tend to be.

Yeah the bugs are getting quite out of hand, every patch and maintenance adds another and now it feels like there are more bugs now than ever.

The maps been bugged for a month now, that’s pretty crazy alone honestly.

Lucky I haven’t been experiencing VGA errors myself but I keep hearing how so many players are still having the problem of game crashes, that would drive me absolutely nuts.

List really goes on: 1% Attribute bug, Dungeon reset bug, Players randomly sliding, Certain item descriptions messed up, Daily badges not dropping for a couple days, Quest Npcs going missing or not implemented. I’m sure there are many more I just can’t think of right now.

I’m a pretty patient person but the map exploration bug itself is making me get pretty close to quitting or taking a break till they fix a majority of the bugs and come out with the major balance patch. I really enjoy this game but jeeze, fix your bugs they keep piling up.

Back to Persona 5 for now.

I can’t tell if you have selective reading or you and your discord do not read the forums, or you’re the only one on your discord.

If you want documented proof of ME encountering all the bugs then no I do not have them unfortunately, only the 4th one. But if you even come on the forum once a day you will see these bug threads, i’ll try to find and list them for your pleasure.

  1. Unable to login after ninja patch
    Missing api-ms-win-crt-runtime-1-1-0.dll
  2. VGA errors
    ToS Crashing adter Update 04/04/2017
  3. Dungeon not resetting
    Daily dungeon have not reset
  4. New recruit event bug
Bug in the recruiting new saviors!
  5. Extra attribute bug
Attributes stuck at 1 minute help!
Any update on stuck at 1 min attribute bug?

And in case you say listing the problems doesnt satisfy you because i’m “just complaining”, listing the problems is exactly what helps IMC fix the bugs by providing some possible scenarios so they can recreate the bug and fix it.

I guess IMC has no reason to take this seriously since there’s only about 10 posts about each bugs on the forum instead of a 100.

Quite the opposite where the forums got flooded with 100’s of complaints then people stopped taking things seriously. They have never proven themselves yet to take iTOS as a server seriously to begin with because:

  1. Korean developers won’t even directly and publicly attempt at communication regarding anything going on here.

  2. Almost every single major exploit has been dealt with poorly. This include the out of control RMT and bots where it took them about a good 6+ months to even have proactive GM in the game.

  3. They can’t be transparent with us meaning things behind the scene must be so bad or they like doing sneaky little back handed things on purpose.

  4. Compensation compared to kTOS is a joke. They also did not even give out armbands for beta testers a complete disrespect to anyone who might have helped them find bugs like the level exploit.

  5. iTOS is the only server that had “founders” and early access which was questionable.

  6. The quality of these patches has been going on for over a year now this is not something new. I had that VGA error problem back in January and it is still there despite threads.

If they wanted me to take them serious and fill out bug reports or give feedback then they really need to show affirmation that it is going to mean something. Otherwise it is just a waste of my time getting me nothing but more frustration. Someone like LunarRabbit can sit there with the great wall of China diagreeing but that does not make you right or me wrong.

Summary

That’s been their answer to all my problems, do you remember the event that gave battle league coins? well, do you also remember that there was an issue in which if you reclaimed any mail it would not be sent to any character and remain claimed?

Well, I sent a support ticket when the thing happend and when they acknowledge the issue, I did not get any satisfactory answer I did not get the coin back.

That is the same answer I got both of those times, I also sent bug reports and I got the same answer, things regarding the Hawk issues that went through for 6 months I got the same answer.

If you do not send any proof they do give a different answer, but, if you do send proof, you get this answer again :

Answer

Bug reporting in this version does not produce any fruit as far as I can tell and if it does it takes 6 months.

The “VGA error” isn’t “VGA error” it’s another error that shows a generic visual feedback.

Aside from this your post had pretty much concrete information, keep going, you’re doing well :3

The time you spent bringing false claims could be more productive with tickets with good details, be sure of it. Complaining about a generic error as “VGA” error and telling a game uses Intel Integrated Graphics (even for people who don’t even use an Intel processor) is completely waste of your time and isn’t valid not even an inch.

Yeah, it doesn’t make one person right or wrong. You just learn to talk discuss concrete things like you just did. Bring real facts and it’s fine, bring false claims/try to make things worse and I’ll come to ask more about it, if you can’t answer, something is wrong, right?

But if you have selective reading or no reading comprehension at all, let me make it simple: You know well about painting and do a great job there. You don’t know about programming and system stuff, you don’t do a great job there, you should google, learn and etc before claiming nonsense stuff. Just do this and you wouldn’t need to worry with me correcting when you’re telling posting completely off.

I daily spammed the Staffs until I get my TBL title and coins I lost because of this bug, it was solved within 4 days if I remember correctly.

I don’t know if you might still want it or not, but it should be still possible to ask for them to fix it now that they’re more active. (Not defending or anything, just giving a suggestion, if you want the coin it’s worth a shot.)

Also, not defending them, but, if you know a bug isn’t programming/mechanic related they probably can deal with it if you keep asking (stuff not delivered, event things, cubes, lost stuff). When it comes to mechanics bugs such as Hawk mechanics, bugged skills in TBL and etc it’s pretty much up to developers and I wouldn’t expect fast correction on those. Also about server settings (outside game), I doubt all staffs would have system-level access with privileged root/admin accounts.

I’m long done with that, I did not get the coin nor do I want it now, you said you had to spam them, I only sent them 3 tickets about it if I did not get it really speaks bad of how they managed thing back then, I dunno if it changed now.

The most salty thing I am about though is: the hawk, it took them too long to fix it, even in korea they were saying “do not take this broken class” as functionally broken.

I have selective reading because at the end of the day despite your wall of text the bug is still there along with problems that is the truth. If you want to try to make it seem like my fault thats cool because we will see how far that logic goes in the ways of bringing players back by telling them bugs are their fault that they should be bug report slaves or lie to them about fixes.

I am sure it is great for player retention being lied to then called the liar or lazy one. Then bank on the fallacy that there is bugs in every game so why go somewhere else like there is no choice real clever to paint that picture.

The real bugs are, the fake ones to make things worse no.

No. It’s not your fault. But if you keep on putting false claims and making problems worse people will get influenced by your views, making even more people complain about the bugs that doesn’t exist, instead of the ones that exists. Just look at the lot of people claiming that you could crash others with Hook64, the other guy went to ask the creator to confirm and there’s no crash “feature”.

One keeps telling something that doesn’t exist, a lot more follows. I just want to prevent this. Talk about concrete problems, is it that hard? If you put lies on the table the lies are your responsibility for stating them thus you should accept when someone question your about them if things are off.

That’s your own vision for what I’m telling you. Did you see I refuting any of the OP’s points? I agree with all bugs he posted, he’s right on the things he said, concrete problems, different than you that claim false ones.

One can compare what you do to getting a person that tells the world is getting warmer because the world made too much technology, thus the world should go back to all forest. When the problem is another thing. This is what you do, all you do by lying and making things worse is hide the real problems and make people follow your hating things that aren’t even true and can’t be fixed for the simple reason the problem isn’t there to being with.

@ophiuchu has a point.

These walls of text aren’t getting rid of any bugs.

In a game with hundreds of documented and acknowledged bugs, do you really think we need to make up more?

Lunar is just tired of people bad mouthing ToS. This is someone who is too emotionally involved in a game who’s owners could give 2 sh*ts about.

My only guess is this game is Lunar’s only way of being social at all so leave them alone lol.

Yes, it’s true. It is getting rid of false claims.

I don’t think you need. That’s why I don’t understand why you keep doing it. Why?

No, I’m not tired of people bad mouthing ToS.

I’m tired of people using false claims and scaling some problems into greater or worse problems. It gets tiring to read nonsense, especially if you know technical stuff and the person claim something without using their brain.

Just think of the claim that ToS is laggy because it uses Integrated Graphics when it uses the default one (which is initialized with DirectX API which is used in any other game). ToS does have its problems and is CPU intensive but this doesn’t mean the FPS issues the game have is because of graphic intensive operations nor means that the operations that causes the bottleneck can be moved into GPU code.

They’re obviously used as exaggerations, to make things sound more serious than they are. To make them seem worse than they are. To get more laughs with those bashing the game etc.
Some people here like to do that.

It’s not that what they say are entirely false but it’s the little things they say that makes it not entirely true as well.

For example:

“Every patch note there is a new cash shop update”

This works as a good example since it’s simply not a factual statement. But it is also true that they do release cash updates quite often. (Even when minor.)

To someone less knowing that could give a really bad impression of the game because the “issue” was exaggerated. Why do this then?

It simply wouldn’t cause any reaction if you used a factual statement saying that gacha is released once a month for 2 weeks and we may or may not get 2 hair styles and/or a pair of c3 costumes per month as well. Sometimes throw in a hair dye or an eye color.

Moot point because it still performs like garbage and crashes. Glad you fight so hard to make such points. It could be running on magical pixie dust for all an end user cares about when it still runs like crap

This is what you are baby raging over read it. Where do I say that is causing the error. You are so stupid it is unbelievable trying to make a point over something I did not even say twisting it into a moot point. The day this game uses more than 20% of my GPU and runs 120fps+ call me instead of debating moot points. Then I can reinstall again just to crash instantly so you can tell me its not a vga error when nobody cares because it crashes.

Real sound logic here. But I am exaggerating this problem. Let me write an essay about it to persaude the non believers then spam the forums.
