Quests ruined ToS

One word. Runescape.
Pretty much everyone played it at least once, and it still 15 years later has over 200 million active accounts. Do you know what else it has? An absolute ■■■■ ton of quests and story, pretty much all of which have to be completed alone, you don’t even have the option of doing them in a party. Not to mention that the graphics in Runescape are ■■■■ compared to ToS.

So your argument that quests ruin MMOs is wrong at best and utter bullshit at worst.

Are, you, dense.

Runescape has so much more to offer as a mmo than others.

Not to mention thier quests are ■■■■■■■ single player rpg quality. With good story and immersion.

In ToS I be lucky to even understand what the npc are saying with their google translated content lolol

My personal feelings aside ( i don’t care for runescape) games like runescape and wow get so big and people have so much time in them they refuse to leave regardless of how the game changes be it for the better or worse. Quests are completely irrelevant to runescapes survival.

The 15 you get out of all quests compared to the 300 you get just leveling? Having a bad haircostume has a bigger impact.

There is more than that.

Out of mainstory quests? Nah not much more.

Were not talking only story were talking all quests. And with that aside i offered a alternative higher up that would make everyone happy. Any one it doesn’t make happy is literally just looking to pick a fight.

While i love both RO and TOS i don’t think one can just slap RO monster mechanics, like 10x more monster damage, on TOS and call it good.
Remember that RO has a few different mechanics than TOS:
-skills in TOS have longer cooldown (no instant-spamming safety wall like in RO)
-potions in TOS have way, way longer cooldown (no potion spamming like in RO)
-there are far, far less %-reduction gears/skills in TOS compared to RO

Personally, i think TOS has a nice mix of monster killing and questing.
However, if i could make some things better i’d rather have a much faster respawn of monsters and giving monsters on maps that are currently not popular for grinding much more EXP so players can grind on every map, just like in RO, and so not all players of a certain level range are stuffed in only a few effective/popular grind spots.

Also, i think a few more skills should be useable against flying monsters. There are some classes that are quite screwed because of lacking enough skills to properly fight flying enemies.

Kinda funny, as far as remember there was a similar thread on reddit.
A korean player stated, that they were also annoyed by the quest and would like them to be removed.
At the end they (players and IMC) decided to have quest till Lv. 200 as some sort of “tutorial”.
If you think about, that the game wants to have 600 levels it kinda makes sense, but right now I can understand people complaining about the quest and dungeons.
Sometimes it seems much more enjoyable if you could just decide where to grind, than have run the same dungeon over and over and searching the whole map for some quest^^

Personally I ■■■■■■■ hate quests and I can’t even begin to understand how there is even people enjoying this ■■■■■■■ shitfest of a quest grinder.

Yes, it is a grind. It is a quest grind, it’s literally the same as grinding but in singleplayer mode. And I already did all of the main and side quests in this game, still trying to find out most secret quests out there (probably the only enjoyable part of questing)
But that aside, I don’t care, leave them as it is.

The problem here is that there is simply no other option but do these quests, grinding is impossible unless you are in Tenet Garden range, Veja Ravine range, Demon Prison range, etc.
And that’s not even the main problem, is the ■■■■■■■ respawn system keeping grinding from being any fun at all.

-kill everything in the room
-sit and wait for 2 minutes
-respawn and kill everything
-repeat

Are you ■■■■■■■ serious? Get rid of this horrendous respawn timer and let the monsters respawn as they die. What the actual ■■■■ is IMC thinking?

Do they even ■■■■■■■ play their own game?

Stop with these stupid irrelevant patches and fix the actual problems you clowns

Nothing against quests, they don’t need to remove them.
I think the game needs higher monster density/spawn rate (make them more dangerous too), so you can choose between grind and quest.

Questing is okay the first time you play, but it makes leveling alts very tedious, predictable and boring.

Just some insights:

Finding a party is harder than the grind itself if you’re a solo player. @ around level 230~260, I pretty much used around 240 TP for megaphones and recruitment. That’s roughly around 300 megaphones. So make sure to save all your TP.

I’m currently almost level 270 right now.

Im sure eventually a typical hub/hangout will develop for the high players looking for grind groups. It usually happens in games like this, but for now it is what it is.

wait wait wait… you want late game mobs to deal around 50k HP??
i don’t know if you’re serious or just trolling.
Make mobs give 50x exp.
gather mobs in one place, use your abilities, BAM level up.
whatisgrinding.
also, by level 200+, you should be in parties by now to survive some content or just clear through faster, aka socialization.
we also have guilds and its features and gvg.

if you can’t handle grinding for levels then this game isn’t for you

Quests are optional aside from being prereqs for equipment and access to locations in that game. Starkly different from our situation where level progression is locked behind quests(cards) and instances.

The community ruined TOS.

Just kidding…OR MAYBE???
