You are 100% right.
Right now the meta is all about mass CC and Nuke-em down.
Not enough mobs poses real threats, if they did then it would be more fun to grind also.

They want you to socialize yet there’s no raid and a party can only hold 5 players.
Really? Because I got to around level 90 without using a single card or any dungeons. That’s a really loose lock.
you guys gotta understand though, that TOS only had a few cool quests to do. People complaned on ktos a lot that there werent enough quests and thats how we ended up with this questdriven mess.
yeah i used cards from 43 to 46 from 80 to 86 and i think 113 to 115 or so…still got plenty left and past 16x.
What a waste of cards. How much grinding did you do?
Very little. I was just filling out the adventure journal. There was a little grinding I suppose, but that was for items for collections, not for levels.
The thing is, I don’t see a small dev team like IMC to fill out quests all the way.
But quests are too important to leveling atm, since yer other options kinda sucks.
I can’t say i disagree. I’ve always loved the social aspect of MMOS, this is why i joined WOW, Ragnarok online and some others that ended up dissapointing me.
Who can ever forget those days spent outside Payon dungeon just babbling, looking for a good party to get to the third level and kill some Munaks.
But yet, all of us who loved to play MMOs since 10 years ago, are at least 19 years old now. Not all of us have time for this anymore, this is why party finder systems were invented. For people with no time to spend 30 minutes socializing for another 30 minutes of leveling. They want straight up 1 hour of people who will run with them a number of times.
But hey, as you can see, we’re not alone.
You got more than a thousand views and 96 replies with 72 likes. (As of the moment of this post). Maybe some of them want to take some time to join up in a Guild, do something together. Maybe meet some strangers around and do fun ■■■■ around. I get it, its not the same, the socialization is not “forced”, the social aspect is barely necessary with characters like C3 Rangers who can two shot bosses at level 80.
But that’s life, all about change, and wether we complain or not. Its the reality.
I dont think there will be a change in the game to make grinding more viable. But i hope I can find more people like you around, so we can quest and grind for days.
It really.
Needs.
To change.
I hate that i CANT EVEN PLAY WITH ALL MY FRIENDS.
From the get go, I CANT play with my friends because the party limits to 5 people, IMC, thats just plain stupid.
… Really?
I don’t understand why so many compare this to another game it’s not insert game here. It’s a fully new game with different systems and mechanics. You wont get the same experience you had with insert game here. While they may have similar looks and maybe some similar feel from time to time they aren’t developed by the same people even when games are the squeals aren’t always the same.
If you like to have that same experience you had before you can return to that game you love and know as most insert game here still alive and well.
Sociability:
If you want sociability be social you don’t need systems, dungeons, raids to talk to people. The forums is also a great way to meet people. Just keep in mind people can be anti-sociable as well. I mostly don’t care to talk to random people a lot of the time. I have a set of three friends who are just in my party which tend to be all at different levels half the time.
Grind:
You’re able to grind in this game if you ignore the quest you can pretty much level up without using any cards if you so wish to make it harder on your self. If you want the stat points from quest then grind higher then what exp they give you would matter then do the quest.
I’ll agree some grinding can be alright but if your friends level past you then it will quickly suck.
The EXP may be low from monsters but that’s the point of grinding you’re spending your time grinding from stuff which give so little else it wouldn’t be called grinding. The only good side is you’ll get more drops then a person just doing quest. The game does have grinding in it however in the form of finding item drops which some are very rare. I’ve spent hours looking for a single drop for a collection and still haven’t found it.
Quest & EXP Cards:
This is the only thing which keeps the game from being a boring grind fest. I don’t care for grinding however I know there is some people which does but you have the choice of not doing quest and not using the EXP cards.
Even Ragnarok has quest while crap as they are they still help you from just grinding out mobs.
I understand
You want to input your suggestions into this which you are freely allowed too however keep in mind you’re not the only one who has suggestions as well.
Guild Wars 2 - Heart Quest System
Why should we even need to talk to npc in this day and age allow us to already have the quest and auto turn in when finish.
Guild Wars 2 - Skill & Armor/Stat Change
We should be able to freely change our skills when ever we wish as well our stats.
Final Fantasy XIV - One Class
You shouldn’t need to level up multi characters a single character should be enough.
World of Warcraft - Character Boost
We should be allowed to per-purchase and get a free level boost to 90.
Ragnarok Online - 5% loss of EXP upon Death
This would be perfect for people who like to grind it would make it harder as they need to be more careful as a simple mistake could cost them.
While I am slightly joking about the suggest at the same time I wouldn’t mind them as well.
… Really?
Aside from the class system and interesting skill interactions every thing else about his game screams STANDARD!
Oh yeah, the art is also one of a kind.
But that is it.
Quest dominant leveling.
Random Queue instances.
Damage sponge world boss.
Auction house with limits.
Channels.
If the monsters give way better exp but are way stronger, we focus on the gameplay aspect of the game. Not the run around spacebar jab aspect of the game.
I don’t know why you play a mmo to do quests? Why not kill mobs?
No, no one is allowed opinions! Haha, please. This is not a suggestion, this is a statement. No one at IMC cares about this thread, I am just here chatting relaxin wastin time. Getting some debate and anger with salt on wound.
The decision they make to have quest be dominat exp from 1-200 is allready made. They CHOSE NOT to go the mob grind direction. Because face it, people will bitch about how there is no quests and only grind, and how boring it is.
(Tho there are plent of games who are grind dominat and doing quite well, more well then quests based games)
Don’t make me give you a list. I sat around a Korean PC cafe for a week, cuz I broke my leg while hiking. All the mmos they still play are all grind based. Only the rare few played Tera, or blade and soul. But alot of their MMO was stuff like dungeon fighter etc, games that focus on gameplay and combat, not quests and instances.
What direction IMC is going I’m not sure yet. Thats why I sit and wait.
Non stop questing feels very out of place in this game. When I first started I was hoping the quests would disappear by level 10. Instead they went well into 200
Many elements of the LFG system are very good but they’re being wasted on a plethora of solo areas. 90% of areas after lv 10 should be centered around groups of at least 3.
Yeah, that’s pretty much the definition of a mmo. I’ve played many mmo and they all at core have most of the same stuff they only thing which sets them apart is how they choose to do things. The little changes here and there add up to a different experience and if you dislike that then maybe it’s not for you.
I’ve left many mmos because I dislike how it does something in fact because of guild wars 2 I hardly touch many mmo which have outdated systems such as quest systems where you grab a quest and then do it and turn it in.
Statement or Suggestion doesn’t matter I agree at the end of the day IMC will do what they choose to do however like I said you still have your opinions and your free to have them and suggestions.
There is always going to be people happy and people not happy with choices they made there never going to be something everyone can agree with it’s pretty much how the world works. Even right now with me and you posting we are seeing things different and can be taken in a slight complaining way both sides.
Sure, If someone wants to go play them they are free too. I’m pretty sure tons of them still have very active fan base. This isn’t korea as well maybe you want to play on korea server and games if you find that path more fun for you or find something which has more grinding.
Ragnarok … had issues. No quests, no guidance. Don’t care if you think quests has ruined ToS. IMO IMC can do something about it. But really I like doing quests, I like to be active, I like having goals … Not freaking aim towards the wilderness and spend hours trying to do something and then failing at it. ToS, you only fail if you build the wrong combo classes OR don’t look at the map to guide you where to go next.
ToS is prettier, bigger, better, nicer animations, fluid, MORE SKILLS, and class combinations which Ragnarok doesn’t have. Story totally sucks (for both games).
As for WoW, I agree with everything you have said. They ruined it with giving everyone a freaking legendary, baby buttering everything and what in the hell PET BATTLES? … -_-;; … Keep the Pocket Monsters out please.
To add something to the OP.
The ammount of levels is too high and the range at which you can share xp and more improtantly get xp from kills is too small. The resuly is a fractured community where everyone is at his/her own level, due to how much time we have at our disposal, every player will level at a different speed, even if it is just a couple levels higher over a whole week.
I think that 28 levels that would take 10 times as much to get, would have been a better choice to promote socialization.
Thats right too. Right now too many levels, sharing gap too small.
It is also because how they scale monsters. Somehow monsters get bonus attack and defense against lower level players?
WHY?!
28/04/2016 - KTOS patch update
[Quest]
I assumed it will be the same for us soon as well.
