Preliminary beginners guide to Clerics

Nope. Far to little dps. You won’t even be able to kill most mob packs with 2 uses of carnivory. You’d need to resort to using transformations to add dmg. (which aren’t very good atm, esp int ones.)

You’d be better off going chaplain + druid2 or replacing priest entirely.

I followed your guide, I am a monk now, I was thinking to get plague doctor at rank 7, is it a good idea? To be more supportive for pve dungeons

I am cleric2/dirv2/monk2 now

Can’t say with a 100% certainty just yet.

One of the upcoming class is speculated to be a hidden class for monk. Laima iirc. So monk3 may become better later on, or not.

But plague doctor offers some very nice hp regen and condition prevention, making it a worthwhile option as well.

About hidden class, this makes us feel weird I think, we are building our chars then tomorrow everything changes and the hours we have spent in the game are crap because our char is not good anymore hehe

A high level cure actually does add quite a bit of dps. Personally I still use my own Cure lvl 1 to add to my dps. Cure 10 + high INT would make it a very good skill. (on anything that isnt flying, anyway)

I second this. Any ranks of priest without taking Chaplain isnt very useful for a dps build.

Yeah, hidden classes are a nice idea but poorly implemented for now.

They can easily make existing class builds sup bar, and in need of a do over. Which is really wasteful and annoying.

@forgotten_dreams

Cure is quite good with the interval attribute, as it traps most enemies within it’s aoe if you deal high enough dmg. (Which is quite easy due to it’s double int scaling.)

Don’t underestimate heal10+ either, due it’s double int scaling it’s still quite strong at higher levels. Mind you it’s pretty rubbish vs stationary enemies for obvious reasons.

But such a build is entirely out of luck vs flying enemies ofc. Which is quite annoying.

And expect to get ks’d a lot if your dps isn’t up to scratch… release is going to be a nightmare…

It would be nice if they could give all monsters the boss treatment and allow them to be hit by ground abilities.

That’s how this game works. If you want to be satisfied with the game, you should try to adapt, or learn to love your class even if it’s not optimal.

Current hidden classes are not even best in slot, as you won’t lose too much not getting them.

That’s not really a good idea, some monsters are bad to fight with certain classes, it’s determined by their type, size, etc. If every class would be good at fighting every monster it’d lower diversity and lessen the importance of party play.

The game can already be completed solo with any character, and it’s not a really good practice for MMO, IMO.
Ironically this is why I love my Priest more than my Cleric/Diev :joy:
The suffering as a int cleric2/diev at low levels…

Just wooshed in here - why do you have fking cleric 2 everywhere!?

For decent healing in everyday dungeon or grinding.

Because it’s that good, especially in earth tower.

And my best example of a priest3 alternative run in et is rather rubbish. Pretty sure it can be done better, just not yet sure just how well it performs there.

10 heal tiles, divine might, 40 hits safety zone, fade, that’s it.

For Int builds level 10 cure.

so i definitely want to go cleric c2, and i think priest is also needed, although not sure if c2 priest is needed or not. So what should i go to get more dps? should i get 1 class into krivis for the dps instead of priest 3 or is stone skin really that important?
I can only kill mobs now with my heals now and if it’s aerial i’m pretty much a goner since i deal so little dmg being almost a full int…

Should be fine if you go priest3 instead of cleric2, but i can’t 100% guarantee it’ll get you through Earth Tower.

And like i said chaplain + druid2 is pretty nice, otherwise i wouldn’t really pick priest for a int build.

What have you got so far in terms of classes/stats?

Priest3 is more support role though. If not chaplain, i think for dps you got better choices.

Divine Might is rather underwhelming but otherwise these. (+ fade)

For leveling you can always buy priest buffs from a pardoner shop. As such I would strongly advice not getting priest circles just for the soloing boost.

If you think they might become expensive to buy, well, they will actually be a slightly cheaper from a shop then with your own items.

One downside tho: blessing from a pardoner shop wont last the full hour on an ‘auto-attack’-build.

I do think it’s a good idea because leveling cleric type character is already very (boring) slow in comparison.

If you feel it’s a bad idea I would strongly urge you to level a cleric3/priest3 and see how you enjoy 190+

Well i’m only cleric c1 and priest c1 now for this character. If i go dps classes, will it diminish my worth in end game places? since by then the dmg i deal will be so worthless anyway, eg cleric 1 prz 3 monk 3.

let’s say i went cleric 1 priest 3 into chaplain and druid 2, my normal dmg would still be quite weak pre druid 2 right? chaplain doesn’t have offensive skills and scales with my normal attack lol

I’ve levelled monk, it was long and boring in solo, but very easy and fast in party with mu highlander friend. Like more than 3 times faster.

So parties really do help.

And yeah, DM is really good, you just need to utilize it properly.
my 2c on this - Monk is not a pure DPS in ToS - it really is a hybrid support that excels in neither and can do either. The only reason you should play Monk is if you like it, or you just can’t decide what the heck you wanna be - melee dps/support. Be prepared to be subpar, but dual duty will be a daily occurrence for you.

There are many better choices out there, but if you love Monk, learn to love its disadvantages also.
1 word. Aspergillum.

There are no ‘best’ cleric build that can do every single thing in this game. Everyone has a role - and the ‘best’ cleric build can be played by idiots that makes the builds look trash.
