Dude, u can use scatter drops while mounting?
@Xanthiris thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and personal experience. Thats the whole point I made this thread.
If you can share a little more knowledge with us, what do you recommend for skill allocation, stat distribution and equipment progression on these builds?
Thanks again
Running shot and Retreat shot are perfect complements to each other, itās what makes me not regret not going the A2-Ranger3-SR2 variant even though a number of SR2ās tend to head down that way owing to the earth tower video circulating around. You can use both together for a lot of damage but itās tricky to maneuver in that state, and I personally prefer alternating so I donāt have too much ādead timeā in between (usually just enough for me to throw in 2 or so multi hit skills like Wild Shot/Concentrated Fire/Multi Shot/Rapid Fire (for crit debuff) and caltrops. You can use Scatter while mounted.
I have also seen a rise in A1/A2-QS3-Wugu2/3 lately. Not sure about this build but itās a pretty strong boss killer with decent poison AOE at that.
will it still be worth going qs 3 - Sr2 even after the retreat shot - running shot nerf/fix?
Yeah man you can use Scatter Caltrops while mounted. You cannot use Deploy Pavise or Pick Stone without dismounting though.
Also there arenāt many other viable QS3 builds per se, but the Falconer part is the more optional part of your Falcon/Musket build. The QS3 builds are as follows:
A2 QS3 SR2
A2 QS3 X Musket
Where X tends to be Falconer, Archer3, or Scout.
Scout essentially makes it a PvP build but you donāt LOSE anything for PvE either. It turns a near strictly PvE build into a very strong hybrid.
Archer3 basically gives more evasion and further increased damage while kneeling. Though the scaling on A2 to A3 Kneeling Shot is kind of bad, itās the best way to gain more single target damage from the build. Archer3 is the single-target min/max tryhard option.
Falconer we already mostly discussed. In theory itās a staple to the build. It turns a single target build into an insanely strong AoE burst build. However, like I said, the conditions required to hit more than maybe 2-4 guys with Snipe, which you can do with +AoE Attack Ratio without the need for Circling anyway, are a little unrealistic. Granted, when the stars align and you manage to Snipe like 20 truffles (or whatever) and drop them to half health immediately in one shot entirely because youāre awesome, it feels good. The problem is itās not exactly reliable.
#A2 QS3 SR2
Alas, the majority of the points spent in Quarrel Shooter are optional. However due to having to dismount to use Deploy Pavise I only leveled it enough to where it was still useful if or when I decide to use it, but am able to spread the points around to more practical abilities as well. As long as Scatter Caltrops is level 15 and Running Shot is level 5, the QS points are almost entirely optional.
#A2 Sapper2 Wugu2 X
The Sapper tree here is probably the best for strictly ET, as the skills with 0 points have little to no practical use. That being said MY Sapper tree is actually 1 / 2 / 10 / 6 / 1 / 5 / 5, instead of the listed 10 / 0 / 10 / 0 / 0 / 5 / 5, for versatility and a little bit of PvP capability.
#A3 Wugu2 Falcon Cannon
Alternatively to 5 / 5 / 0 / 5 for Cannoneer you could go 5 / 4 / 1 / 5 however the knockback and mediocre damage on Siege Burst give it no practical value in ET.
#Stat Allocation
For all of these builds and almost any physical damage build my stat suggestion is as follows:
Strength is stronger than Dexterity until approximately 500-600 physical attack, give or take a little based on your build, however this is a very good general Strength/PAtk pre-crit requirement. At which point:
Dexterity is now stronger than Strength until approximately 500 critical rate. As long as your build includes Archer2 for the increased 25% critical rate you only need about 400, perhaps you could settle for as little as 350, BEFORE Swift Step.
Once you have reached the level 280 PvE soft cap of approximately 500 critical rate self-buffed, Strength becomes permanently stronger than Dexterity.
Intellect and Spirit are both obviously useless for damage output and survivability.
Constitution is a very difficult stat to balance and truthfully you may want to get your hands on a Stat Reset Potion and save it until you are level 280 and have first-hand experience in ET to decide whether you need more or less CON. As a general rule I would suggest no less than 50 CON and no more than 100. That being said, you really only need as much as youāre comfortable with, and may decide to not put any in. Thatās fine in theory, but keep in mind you do 0 damage while eating dirt.
###Disclaimer:
Some builds do not necessarily follow the above listed stat priority. For example, Wugushi does not scale to dex/crit rate at all, so therefore strength is always stronger for a Wugushi. Where as Cannoneers scale so pitifully to Strength/PAtk that you may decide to continue stacking dex/crit rate beyond the recommended 500 self-buffed crit rate just for more reliable critical hits.
The above listed stat priority is not perfect but is a very good general stat suggestion.
Hands down, my friend!
Oh and hey, I donāt mean to be THAT GUY or peddle my own posts and interests here but Iād actually greatly appreciate some additional feedback on a suggestion list Iāve been compiling for quite some time now.
If you guys are interested and/or donāt mind, search for the post āXanās Fix-It Listā and just give some feedback, positive or negative, and āLikeā any suggestions you agree with.
Thanks in advance and if you decide not to thatās fine as well
Now back on topic.
Hey man, not a problem at all!
Lemme link your thread here: Xan's "Fix-It" List
People that share their knowledge have my full support!
We are in the same spot, i have a cata too and want to try a SR!.
it requires a NEAR unobtainable amount of gear/stats to reach the stats needed for it to pull ahead.
They are not unobtainable. Lvl 5 crit gems are obtainable. And so are manamana, double sissels bracelets, max pentaminion, (worst) crit rolls on headgears and 138 DEX. What it really requires to achieve a very ideal crit chance is to have a chronomancer and a priest 3 SPR krivis 1 with zalciai. 99% crit chance cannot be achieved solo, even in full dex builds.
I realize Falcon synergizes with Wugu better than Sapper because
Broomtrap doesnāt have a hit cap but I would actually think
A3/Sapper2/Falco1/Cannon would be a better similar option, due to the
aforementioned crit vs atk (dex vs str) struggle that comes with
Sapper/Wugu, it would be the same if not worse with
A3/Wugu2/Falco1/Cannon.
Archer 3 synergizes with circling. Falconner synergizes with Cannoneer and Archer 2/3. Sapper 2 synergizes with every single archer build i could have in mind due to the existance of broom trap. Falconeer has no synergy with Wugushi or Sapper.
due to the aforementioned crit vs atk (dex vs str) struggle that comes with Sapper/Wugu
Sapper/Wugushi synergy in regards to crit vs att is not that complicated to understand and solve. Broom Trap is a skill that scales very well with STR and can crit. You basically get to 138 DEX, get aforementioned gears, get a chrono, a priest 3 with krivis 1.
I believe that one of the primary reasons SR2 is considered the best
spec at the moment is because of the essentially free defensive stats
they gain while riding their mount
SR is gear dependant. Like uh, assassin in Aion. Scale better with gear. And con is also important for some crit resist. More for tanks, less for dps.
The thing about A2/Sapper2/Wugu2 is that the build is essentially ET-ready at Rank 6.
The thing about Sapper 2 and Wugushi 2 is that both have a type of AOE skills that currently, dominates ET: multihit deployment-nature. Wugushi 2 also has great synergy with Pandemic and Incenerator from PD Cleric tree (and linker ofc).
There are actually pros to Cannon, Falconer, Sapper3
Sapper 3 has no pros aside from 10/10 broom trap. Which heavily falls in front of any other options. At least wugushi 3 has two skills going for it.
finished with Scout primarily so that I can still pull my weight in ET
at roughly a 5% dps loss over anyone who chose one of the other ET
options
Scout 1 may not peform well in AOE focused floors. But may perform better in boss floors. Flare Shot is a very nice tiny-aoe dps skill.
And although some gear is hard of being obtained, well, to get stuff, work is needed ._.
SR is actually one of the least gear-dependent archer builds at the moment, which is part of the reason itās considered so good for ET.
As for the āNEAR unobtainable amount of gear/statsā, your suggestions are not optimal at all.
Crit Rate rolls on headgear is bad compared to your other options, granted yes if you manage to roll it in addition to Phys Atk, Crit Atk, and/or property attack, fine, but in general Crit Rate is actually like 9th on the list for preferred headgear stats.
You need level 6+ gems in your Manamana and Bandit/Kracked Shooter at least.
Sissel Bracelets are far worse than Gladiator Bands.
And my original point was not that it is difficult to reach 400+ critical rate, it can be relatively easy, however reaching both your unbuffed 400+ critical rate as well as a good amount of physical attack is difficult, at least to the degree that Sapper/Wugushi requires.
For example I believe my archer has roughly (unconfirmed, not running an addon and lost track of additional stat points), 104 points spent in Strength, 41 points spent in Constitution, and 163 points spent in Dexterity. At the moment his post-gear Strength is 272, his post-gear Constitution is 68, and his post-gear Dexterity is 235.
As for everything else you said, I canāt really disagree with it directly but I think there may have been some miscommunication or misunderstanding because it seems like you reiterated a lot of what I said as counter points.
Regardless, thanks for your feedback/opinion.
Hi guys just read about this thread and wondering if SR is really the least gear dependent class for ET. Coz im thinking it might be the wugu class which we just dump str stat and it would greatly inc the poison damage.
Btw i wanna ask if qs3-wuguc1-ar2-wuguc2-canon could work
Or any suggestion about that path coz i really want wugu
What about this build. Archer 2, Sapper 2, Wugu 2 and Rogue. Rogue for capture and sneak hit to bump crit rate for sapper/archer skills. Kinda like IDreamyās scout build in a way. Would be a full str build.
Sneak hit is useless in ET
Feint doesnt work in ET as well?
Guys, Nexon has stated that new classes are coming this summer and ET is gonna be 40 floors!
Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/treeofsavior/comments/4qhrf2/rank_8_to_be_released_this_summer_along_with/
Now that I think about it, you could probably make a baller Strike damage aoe class and rely on wizard lethargy debuff for +100% damage.
Go A1, ranger1, sapper2, rogue1, schwarzer reiter2.
Iām almost positive barrage with an xbow does strike type damage, so you essentially have 3 wombo combos that all benefit from lethargy.
i would not suggest going for so many c2 WITHOUT any % scaling modifier abilites like steady aim/ running shot, it might hurt yourself in the long run.
ET builds wise, Running shot is worth less due to the many reasons already exposed. Many players have tested the relevance of ranger 2 and 3 in builds. Steady Aim is not bad. But there is more than that to be offered at other circles. Ranger 1 is enough. Ranger 2 is superior if you want AOE that can hit flying targets tho.
SR is actually one of the least gear-dependent archer builds at the
moment, which is part of the reason itās considered so good for ET.
Other classes in the archer tree offer more damage at lower levels of gear.
your suggestions are not optimal at all.
but in general Crit Rate is actually like 9th on the list for preferred headgear stats
Sissel Bracelets are far worse than Gladiator Bands
What are the optimal options then?
however reaching both your unbuffed 400+ critical rate
369 unbuffed crit rate is enough (disregard this, forgot to add some stuff here, like +56 crit rate from level bonus and 8 crit rate from collection and 10 crit rate from monstrance, it is actually 443 the crit rate necessary for 99% crit chance in ET)
I have some thoughs on why Glad Band is better than Sissels, but i am going to wait for your answer to confirm if they are right or not.
Please do not consider the qs3sr2 build. the ānerfā will hit here later or soon. It will come.
I think qs3sr2 still is viable, because that nerf is in fact just fix not allowing AA while using retreat, but you can use running to fill the large cd of retreat.
I think the people tends to see qs3 week for later level (200+) but it still runs after that. You just need some well-refined gear. The autoattacks scales great, and u can pick some aoe class to complement.
