PC Gamer Review: 58/100 - "One nostalgia trip you might want to skip"

So now that I proved that he is defending blindly we are at that point? When you are out of arguements you try to attack the one who made the arguement? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yup, that’s the white knight. Who is blindly defending the game and saying things out of fanatism.

So, instead of trying to attack me and distract the topic what about the facts I told you guys? You can’t argue with those so you try to catch me now?

“Oh…look! He even screenshotted those things…that bastard! Now, how should I defend this game? …hm…hm AHHAHHH!!! HAHA! I know it! He called us white knights! I will try to win an arguement pointing out that he is a douchbag!”

Good attempt at trying to play the victim, but I haven’t even stated my stance. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that it’d behoove you to drop all the ad hominem attacks from your arguments should you want people to take you seriously. It might be too late already, though.

LOL…

Not only the community, but Nexon Korea.

Publishers are killing the game industry.

They want shitloads of features from games, with minimal money investment and time to develop things.

Back then, 2 years was used to develop a game. Now, 2 years needs to be enough to develop a game, voice act every character, record cinematics, add extra features, etc etc etc…

My argument still stays the same, IMC is not a triple AAA company, they’re short on money and manpower, and they’re NOT noobs, they just happened to take a high risk with a huge game and now the time is ticking, publishers and fans wants the game, but they aren’t receiving any income for this.

Support IMC and be patient, lets see how things will turn out.

I’ll reapeat:

If your gaming experience isn’t enjoyable, give your feedback, and quit.

Return to the game after some time, to see if it improved or not.

Whining won’t change anything.

IMC is their own publisher outside of South Korea if you didn’t notice.

Of course I know about this, and they being their own publishers might be the answer to why they’re not answering stuff on forums or things like this. IMC team needs to take care about everything, not about the game development as a whole, but, marketing, servers, support, translation, game monitoring, and, ofcourse, interacting with us, reading and posting feedbacks.

However, Nexon Korea is the main culprit of rushing the game, it’s obvious they invested money on the development on ToS and they wanted it up and running in the stipulated time frame.

I bet the ITos launch was to offload some of the financial loss due to KTos rushed launch.

If they aren’t a triple AAA company, why do something like trying to make an international video game globally? Talk about overreach of power.

You know, it they were having this many problems, they should have limited their service to just North America and not to the entire world.

It’s like starting up a local hot dog stand but trying to fill orders from all over the world while the only people employed is you and your 10 year old brother.

Why they would start only in NA if most of their players comes from SA and SEA?

Isn’t Klaipeda and Orsha servers almost dead? Isn’t SEA and SA servers suffering major issues due to servers being full?

This is your answer.

My theory to why they launched the game globally earlier as intended, is exactly what i’ve alread said:

Thanks to Nexon rushing the game, their Korean launch failed, and to save 5 years developing the game, they need the money to keep it alive, and KR alone wouldn’t be enough. Thats why they launched the game globally.

“While some might praise this aspect of Tree of Savior as hardcore, I’d argue it’s simply unfun and needlessly punishing.” Wow, that sums up my feelings on the card battle system quite nicely. Nice to see even major publications have picked up on how some parts of this game seem to be there just to punish the player for trying to have fun.

There are 300+ million people living in North America lol. I can’t say the same for SEA, but 1st world countries have more access to internet + computers.

If you want to do business, you do it in America or China because that’s where all the money is.

But most of the NA players quit because of IMC’s incompetence. Also, nobody but IMC knows the real server capacity of each of the servers. We don’t know if Klaipeda and Orsha are designed to hold 10,000 players while Silute is only designed to hold 5,000 players.

AKA, money grab. I don’t know why you insist on defending them. They should never have contracted with Nexon in the first place. It’s like signing with the devil.

It seems like you’re living withing a bubble.

Thats not how gaming development works. Heck, I wouldn’t say only games, bust almost everything in the world.

Your example of NA is quite valid, and it’s exactly the same reason to why the game wasn’t NA only to begin with.

And about Nexon:

Did you ever considered Nexon offered the highest aumont of money?

Call it cashgrab, whatever you want, but things doesn’t get developed and produced for free. Money is needed for everything, and perhaps Nexon gave them the aumont they required for developping ToS

If IMC had enough money from the beginning, they would operate like Nintendo, they have enough money and man power to do everything by itself.

For a Long time Nintendo survives by its own merits, they don’t have any 3rd party support, also, they’re the ones that publish their own games.

However, IMC is not Nintendo, they need someone to invest in them to get things done, something like Nexon investing in Tree of Savior.

IMC must faced problems while developping the game, and perhaps its why the game feels rushed in KTOS, needing for a global launch to offload the loss.

Yes, i’m defending IMC in questions to why mistakes happened, and no, i’m not defending IMC for releasing a half baked game.

And well, again, youre not forced to play this game, neither pay for it. You can just quit and move on, or play without paying them.

Either way, whinning wont get things done.

Why don’t you take a look at the original Ragnarok Online. That was developed, funded and published by Gravity also. They had no funding from Nexon.

So you’re telling me that a game can’t succeed without Nexon? There are many ways to go about it that doesn’t involve Nexon.

If Gravity could develop and publish Ragnarok Online successfully, why can’t IMC develop and publish Tree of Savior successfully? IMC has the same developers from Gravity.

I never said I hated the game. I’m still playing it. I just like to question flawed arguments such as yourself. You’re the definition of a social justice warrior.

Achievement unlocked: “I’m a knight and I’m white af”.
Keep it going boy, crush those fking whiners for me.

Good luck at waiting the improvement. Even a decent game company knows it is crucial to communicate with their players, but so far I haven’t heard any game improvement update news. All they have done is, " Hei, players. We are going to perform maintenance today, thanks for your patience".

Furthermore, their maintenance is basically a joke. No major improvement in server stability, no server crash fix, no fix to random FPS drop since Early Access. I don’t see this game is going anywhere.

Instead of keeping the most potential customers - early access players, they put more focus on F2P players who are still unknown income source to them. Whoever the marketing manager is, he / she just failed a big time.

Ragnarok comes from old times.

Here in Brazil, Ragnarok was published by Level Up. It was a massive sucess - but like i’ve said, it was old times.

There wasn’t anything like RO back then, and what happened is what the story tells.

It seems you fail completely to understant that RO is not ToS, and ToS is not RO

How can’t you guys see that the game is completely different, coded from the scratch, that only happens to have a similar art style?

It’s the same as telling people that building a Ferrari should be easy as building 1.0 50 HP street car, just because they share the same concept of 4 wheels method of transport.

Sorry but…I’m not waiting for improvment, because i’m enjoying the game right now, despite the huge flaws.

I’ll not wait for anything, i’ll be here untill I have fun playing the game. When I find the game is not worth for me anymore, i’ll just leave another, constructive feedback, then leave.

Sorry for those who can’t have fun. But me and lots of my friends, can.

Your analogy makes absolutely no sense. Ragnarok Online was also coded from scratch.

Kim Hakkyu created both Ragnarok Online and Tree of Savior.

This isn’t comparing a Ferrari to a Street Car.

Ignoring the Nexon talk.

Ragnarok Online came out at the end of 2002. Comparing the era of MMORPG back then to now is absolutely ludicrous. Not to mention less than 3 years after RO came out in Korea the majority shareholders sold their shares to japanese comapnied.

Ragnarok is the only project Gravity managed to release before being owned by far larger companies. It also did not publish the game in every single region. iRO did not have split servers for EU/SEA/SA. When it came out it was P2P and had Loki + Chaos and then Sakray test server.

Kim Hakkyu left Gravity in the same exact year that RO came out. You people really need to drop this ToS = RO thing.

So, you think that the tecnology involved into RO development is the same as ToS? Wew, after that, i’ll just leave this discussion. It’s not me who is whinning, its you guys. I’m having fun in the game, sadly, its you guys that isn’t having any.

He was the creator, not the developer

It was him who designed, not coded

The analogy remains the same, I can design either a Ferrari or a Street car, but i can’t demand the same people that builds a street car, to build a Ferrari with the same aumont of people and tools in the same time frame, while maintaning the same cost. Thats absurd, its apples and oranges.

If I can’t trust you as a player to point out the flaws it has now in favor of defending IMC’s every move due to victimization, I don’t trust you to do it in the future when it gets so bad the game isn’t fun for you.
