Oh, he was playing a swordsman. He also didn’t pick up Peltasta C1. Everything makes sense.
Funny thing is PC Gamer gave Blade and Soul a worse score than Tree of Savior.
How about that.
The main point is that this game have bad optimization or no optimization at all. Many CBT2 bugs are still persist
It is the coding Architecture/Engine itself, it gonna take a long time to fix and test it on the IMC side.
While there are a lot of other issues, but those can be resolve slowly.
IMC really need to hire an expert Architect and review all the coding again, as well as expert programmers to optimize it.
It’s the opinion from someone that actually works on videogames.
Game has mistakes beyond game optimization. Mediocre is not enough to describe systems like attributes, classes, and even stats, for an average player it might take months before realizing his character is faulty and he should start all over because they are not even offering a paid hard reset option.
Game is notoriously rushed, most games are, but this case is even worse, because it’s by core not properly planned.
It Is a matter of being noobs, because being noobs is making them waste their money and manpower.
Game has such a huge potential, yet they are not making the most of it, and they wont unless they are clear on their intentions on what kind of game it is meant to be.
To be fair, IMC said they weren’t even ready to release ToS for a few months now.
The only reason they rushed it was because the community was begging for the game to be released early.
So you can’t really blame IMC for the mess. There are legitimate questions to as why some of these problems weren’t fixed since last year’s iCBT… but when they already stated this game isn’t ready and the fans wanted it right now… the community only has itself to blame.
Atleast he makes it obvious he’s just trolling tho. Contrast to @Skyfire and @Expiredmilk
Those are certified White Knights, picture perfect. But I’ll bite, and see if @Expiredmilk is perhaps actually trying to argue instead of White Knighting.
Your entire post was one…
There’s was no confusion on the wording, as you only said ‘‘bot friendly’’ whithout giving an argument as to why. So I assumed (logically): Bot friendly = grinding friendly.
The game takes measures against bots by heavily restricting trade for all players.
If the game is taking measures against bots how is it bot friendly? If you have a point, I’m not seeing it.
Atleast if grinding friendly = bot friendly, then you’d have a point. (even if it can counter somewhat by noting this is a grinding game)
No, you shouldnt of exaggerated. It’s not poor wording, it’s saying something that isn’t the case. Communication has been extremely bad for over a week. But it was quite good before then.
So dont say it was always bad, period.
We cannot read intend on the internet. We can only read what posters do decide to post.
Exactly. Your qualms. You gave a list that implied [big issues with the game] then added a good number of personal issues to give issues of yours extra weight. I can understand that some have problems with the TP prices, but that doesnt suddenly makes it a huge issue and a big minus for the game in general.
As I mentioned it’s a pro or con depending on the person. I’ve played few games that had every single detail in their skill’s description.
You would be fine if they added things like number of hits, but I ask you:
-Why be fine with just that, when things like skill animation duration aren’t listed either? This has a pretty huge impact on PvP viability and DPS. Yet, I know almost no game that lists these.
You would still have to test these yourself, or get the information from other sources.
What does number of hits even say to begin with? Number of hits doesnt tell you Cure can do huge damage on stationary targets. Because the description doesnt tell you that it takes your magic attack value and applies it to each hit.
Personally for me I can’t take someone asking for better descriptions too serious is they only want those details they already know about, added.
That said, again, it’s pro or con depending on point of view. Either way it’s not a game breaking issue.
Unless you are telling me that skill descriptions outright lie, in which case I would agree, the skill descriptions being ‘vague’ would be gamebreaking.
Make a post about it, if you feel that would be a better description. To my knowledge it was players that helped with the translations to begin with, no?
Like many other abilities in the genre of RPG. You wouldnt know about combination magics in Dragon Age: Origins, unless you actually tried them out. You wouldnt know that the ‘Calculator’ in FF Tactics is OP unless you make one. You wouldnt know that using Unarmed counts as dual wielding unless you tried it. Which would require leveling monk/ninja.
Because that is what many enjoy in RPGs. Figuring things out. Perhaps many also don’t enjoy it. That’s why I said it was a pro/con depending on POV. Something heavily up for debate isnt a gamebreaking issue.
It was the appropriate word to use considering the context. And I can assure you that I’m far less inclined to use ‘crude words’ then you might be, in all likeliness. It seemed less crude then using ‘‘BS’’, as atleast I’m writing the word outright.
All that does sound very friendly and civil. I mean they are civil words to be sure, but friendly? That’s going full gunsblazing attack mode, while wearing a suit.
let me stop you there. how much do you know about IMC anyway?
have you been to Korea and met everyone? do you have their list of employees or are you in direct communication with their CEO?
this is why I said you’re painting a picture of how noob/incompetent they are. there are hundreds if not thousands of independent gaming companies on steam, some made MMOs and yet many if not most get positive reviews. my favorite among them is Supergiant Games, which is made up of only a dozen individuals, and somehow their games are nearly flawless and critically acclaimed.
so what I’m saying is 1) making up excuses for a company you’re not directly affiliated with is not doing them any good, 2) it’s not impossible for a small company to deliver a polished game, and 3) if it’s just pressure that’s keeping IMC from doing their job, then using your own words–why don’t they JUST QUIT?
yeah in other games you can generally try other builds without risking hundreds of hours of your time though, not the same.
Yup, I totally agree with the gaming review. He nailed it.
I will be back to Guild Wars 2 or other shooting games. I started playing this game because of I wanted to recall the old gaming memory back in Ragnarok Online. However, I would like to say the gaming experience is so fking bad, especially the randomly drastic FPS drop all the time in dungeon and some other maps. It is just too much. I could accept it when it was in early access, but it still persists until now.
This game is turning to a milking game.
Excuse me, did you just call me a white knight? Is this some lame attempt at character assassination because you disagree with me on the topic of class reset? It’s either that or you don’t understand the terminology you’re using here.
I give feedback on what I consider to be flaws in game design because I want the game to improve, to stop losing players and survive for years to come. You can easily go through my posting history and see all this for yourself. It’s the exact opposite of what white knights do.
You can disagree with my views, and I invite you to express why you disagree with them in the appropriate threads, but don’t you go around spreading false accusations. It would be great if you could provide a quote where I blindly defend IMC and the game. Or an apology. Either is fine.
I don’t think it’s beyond his capacity, reviewers have deadlines so he had to get the review out and he probably didn’t bother researching.
That’s why he sounds like he wants more handholding themepark MMOs, unlike the decent review sites that take their sweet time before giving a verdict on a MMO.
Actually, you’ve got me there. Brought out my gamepad and switched to mouse yesterday. While the gamepad was actually damn well good aside from button placement, the mouse system could use some good touch ups when the game is fixed up Engine wise. Especially when it comes to not accidentally swapping enemies in a cluster, but since I personally use Keyboard it’s ignorable for me. Overall though, you’re right.
Still though, more popular games don’t usually come with the option of changing control methods: Usually just keybindings. And gamepad configurations on some of them…hnng oh god.
What does it matter? Honestly… if there are more negative than positive points coming up after 10-20 hour that means the review is on point.
Why are you trying to defend it?
Do you think that somebody wants to read a review like that?
After 200 hours I learnt to live with the flaws, cause I love this game!
What you forgot is the review is not about your favoirte game, Tree of Savior, it’s about a newly released MMO!
So what does a gamer wants to know from a review? Does it worth my time to start it? Will I enjoy it? 10-20 hours is a lot! If you don’t enjoy a game after that, you will most likely drop it.
That’s the most important thing.
Most of you take this review personally and you think it’s not right cause he is bashing your precious one…however…
For the writer, this is just another mmo which needs a review! He is just a gamer who wants to enjoy the game!
That’s why this is so accurate.
I’m a White Knight…? When did I defend IMC? That’s…what you’re doing. Lol.
I never used the term ‘bot friendly’ I have no idea where you pulled that from, lmao. Now you’re just making stuff up. The context of the post was pretty obvious if you have been following what IMC has been doing to take measures against bots. It hurts innocent players. I didn’t even think I would have to elaborate on something self explanatory. You’re the only person who didn’t understand what I meant. I think this is a personal issue.
Communication has been pretty bad from the start. You’re very persistent on defending IMC who got rid of their only employee who interacted with the community. (Example of Moonspring White Knighting).
Then don’t make things up? Lol. Read what I say and take it exactly for what it means and don’t put up your own interpretations to what I meant when it was crystal clear that I meant Tokens and Female hair styles when I even put it in parenthesis next to the statement.
I don’t speak for the community. And I never used the term ‘Big issues’, that’s something you made up out of no where (again). I don’t know why you’re assuming that. And for the record, all my points were brought up various times around these forums and reddit. It’s not just me who thinks so.
What you’re doing is called a ‘Slipper Slope’. That is a logical fallacy that assumes event x will cause event x without any form of evidence.
No one is asking for skill animation duration. No idea where that came from. Once again you’re making things up.
Just because I know about it doesn’t mean others do. I didn’t even think I would need to explain something like this.
Make a post about it, if you feel that would be a better description. To my knowledge it was players that helped with the translations to begin with, no?
They can’t translate text that didn’t exist in the first place.
Those words were directed at in game mechanics. Easy to take out of context if all you’re doing is quoting the single word. They were not directed at anyone or IMC. Only ‘Zero Communication’, which is not loaded language or an attack. “BS” is loaded language and was directed at me. I’m not attacking you nor am I attacking IMC or addressing anyone with derogatory terms. Also, I like how you quoted me using three exclamation marks like it was supposed to be offensive or something???
TLDR; @Moonspring is arguing about things that were never said.
But what’s new?
if you look closely to those people who put positive review at Steam are mostly less than 50 hours game play in this game.
People like me are simply not blind to the huge amount of issues and lack of polish this game has and I’m explaining to the guy I’m replying to that these negative reviews in fact do matter unlike what he believes. 58/100 is a VERY BAD score and when all reviews are similarly negatively rated there is something very wrong with the game and I have played the game enough and to see why the reviewer would point out certain issues because these issues arise very early in the game and stay there.
What is even the point of your post? Your post (the one I am replying to) contributes nothing to the discussion besides explaining your lack of reading comprehension skills.
I got to lvl 120 trying to making an alchemist. I hear that they have a massive problem with trades and taxes.
I said to myself:
“I’ll just chill, waiting for some changes. I’llcontinue to play when that happens.”
And here i am, playing FFXIV until the game gets some changes.
That guys, thats what people that didnt like the game should be doing, hopping that the game gets better and not worst…
A writer who, as pointed out above, played alone, did not mention the game’s quest features at all only the grind part, found even the task of having to read to choose his class was a chore, didn’t party at all, leveled skills considered useless and complained about it, etc. In other words, joined a not so themepark MMO fully expecting a themepark MMO, how is that going to turn out?
Yeah, a job with a deadline. Steam reviews are not doing well, those (besides the obvious “OMG I DON’T LIKE IT !!1! GAME SUXSS!1 IMC DIE!”) are far more worrying than a PCgamer review that joined the game without knowing what he was getting into.
Listen…stop being a kid. Every mmo’s review like this. Stop complaining and stop trying to find excuses.
Read any review and it will be like this. If a game is good, it will get a good review, if not…
Also, stop being a morron…
You complain about this:
Aha…ok Let’s see Mr. White Knight:
MAAAAAAN! You are so right! You are not a blindfolded, ignorant, childish white knight, but everybody else is retarded, including the whole PC Gamer.
Man , you are so right! There are only great, detailed, deeply described positive reviewes, right? Only the negative ones are like:
“OMG I DON’T LIKE IT !!1! GAME SUXSS!1 IMC DIE!”
Right man?! RIGHT?!
No positive reviews are like “bast gam eva , derp derp 14 y old fanboy”
You would try to blame anything because you are a white knight!
You are so ignorant, that you don’t even acknowledge the fact that these positive reviews are just the same as those negative ones. Yes, they are about the same amount so basicly, the reviews are on point.
Deal with it…the game is garbage, even magazins sais that. Just say it after me:
"I don’t care, cause I like it. -> And there is no problam here. Just do not try to explain why this is a good game, when it’s officialy a garbage cause now, not only Steam, but a famous magazin bashed it too.
I’ve not seen someone resort to using ad hominem attacks as frequently as you. Is “white knight” your favorite term to use when proving a point?
