C3 Wiz C3 Thaum FF here.
I shout anywhere from 5-20x a day for Storage. I’ve been locked in this level bracket for about 2 weeks with no reliable means of getting exp outside of my 3x missions and praying I can either get a party together or am invited into one (normally as a last ditch effort by a party who just got tired of waiting 1 hour for their ideal candidate).
I think everyone has the right to be picky. I’m picky. If it were up to me I’d pick “Chronolinker + Krivis/PD or Druid + Pelt + Falconer” to compliment my own character. Every character benefits from the buffs, Krivis has a steady Daino (and either additional AOE as Druid or PD to take advantage of hexing/lethargy/shrinks etc), Linker to spread my FF damages and MM, Pelt for the swash and swordie exp role (otherwise could pick up a Cryo3, and Falconer for the MM circling + archer role + high single target for linker or additional aoe deeps depending on their build.
But I can say for certain, from my experience, that people don’t stop to think “hey, maybe the player is good” and instead rely solely on “hey, that class tree isn’t going to be as fast as so-and-so class, so nope, isn’t even meta” and… I can’t blame them. I’m no memelock. I can’t dish out those numbers… on my own. Mathematically though? In the right setup I can easily contribute more DPS to a grind than even a ele/lock. But that is because I bring buffs and debuffs to the party and they deliver my contribution for me, where I have to rely on a linker to deal my own individual lines most effectively.
What honestly bugs me though is… okay, I understand-- not everyone will know the value I can bring to a grind and, a lot of the times, not every party will be set up for me to make an optimal contribution… or hell, even a halfway decent one. That’s cool, no sweat, you do you and I’ll keep waiting to find a party, hope you find what you’re looking for. I honestly don’t mind being refused based off of stereotypes or lack of knowledge concerning the picks I made. But what really gets to me is how I can be refused and, for the next hour, I shout the whole time that I’m looking for a party and you shout that whole hour that you’re looking for a pelt, while we both stand in town beside each other.
Are you ■■■■■■■ serious? Rather than getting perfectly acceptable exp for that hour, maybe even upwards of 12m/h still if you have a Chrono, you continue to spam for a pelt while I am forced to sit here spamming for a party? Take the ■■■■■■■ exp by inviting me and politely remind me that since I’m not the pelt you’re looking for that you will continue to spam for a pelt while we grind and, once you find one, I’ll have to leave the party. That’s all-- I’ll be happy for the 10 min-5 hours of exp while you try desperately to shout for what you really wanted; your party will be happy because they are also getting exp; you’ll be happy because, hey, you’re getting exp and not just standing around in town for whatever period of time.
So the next time you find yourself spamming for a specific person, be it chrono, pelt, dps, whatever (aside from healer, that’s pretty important most of the time lol), just take that player who has been shouting for a grind and let them know that they can stay in the party until you find what you are looking for. That way everyone is happy, gets exp (any > zero, playing > sitting in town staring at chat), and the party can still get what they really need and politely kick the filler when they find that perfect class.

I will quit first. LOL… btw heard that swordman concentrate get buffed in ktos soon. Hope they will make sword1/2/3 more useful compare to other base class circle 3.
