Party Discrimination

C3 Wiz C3 Thaum FF here.

I shout anywhere from 5-20x a day for Storage. I’ve been locked in this level bracket for about 2 weeks with no reliable means of getting exp outside of my 3x missions and praying I can either get a party together or am invited into one (normally as a last ditch effort by a party who just got tired of waiting 1 hour for their ideal candidate).

I think everyone has the right to be picky. I’m picky. If it were up to me I’d pick “Chronolinker + Krivis/PD or Druid + Pelt + Falconer” to compliment my own character. Every character benefits from the buffs, Krivis has a steady Daino (and either additional AOE as Druid or PD to take advantage of hexing/lethargy/shrinks etc), Linker to spread my FF damages and MM, Pelt for the swash and swordie exp role (otherwise could pick up a Cryo3, and Falconer for the MM circling + archer role + high single target for linker or additional aoe deeps depending on their build.

But I can say for certain, from my experience, that people don’t stop to think “hey, maybe the player is good” and instead rely solely on “hey, that class tree isn’t going to be as fast as so-and-so class, so nope, isn’t even meta” and… I can’t blame them. I’m no memelock. I can’t dish out those numbers… on my own. Mathematically though? In the right setup I can easily contribute more DPS to a grind than even a ele/lock. But that is because I bring buffs and debuffs to the party and they deliver my contribution for me, where I have to rely on a linker to deal my own individual lines most effectively.

What honestly bugs me though is… okay, I understand-- not everyone will know the value I can bring to a grind and, a lot of the times, not every party will be set up for me to make an optimal contribution… or hell, even a halfway decent one. That’s cool, no sweat, you do you and I’ll keep waiting to find a party, hope you find what you’re looking for. I honestly don’t mind being refused based off of stereotypes or lack of knowledge concerning the picks I made. But what really gets to me is how I can be refused and, for the next hour, I shout the whole time that I’m looking for a party and you shout that whole hour that you’re looking for a pelt, while we both stand in town beside each other.

Are you ■■■■■■■ serious? Rather than getting perfectly acceptable exp for that hour, maybe even upwards of 12m/h still if you have a Chrono, you continue to spam for a pelt while I am forced to sit here spamming for a party? Take the ■■■■■■■ exp by inviting me and politely remind me that since I’m not the pelt you’re looking for that you will continue to spam for a pelt while we grind and, once you find one, I’ll have to leave the party. That’s all-- I’ll be happy for the 10 min-5 hours of exp while you try desperately to shout for what you really wanted; your party will be happy because they are also getting exp; you’ll be happy because, hey, you’re getting exp and not just standing around in town for whatever period of time.

So the next time you find yourself spamming for a specific person, be it chrono, pelt, dps, whatever (aside from healer, that’s pretty important most of the time lol), just take that player who has been shouting for a grind and let them know that they can stay in the party until you find what you are looking for. That way everyone is happy, gets exp (any > zero, playing > sitting in town staring at chat), and the party can still get what they really need and politely kick the filler when they find that perfect class.

What you seem to forget is that while you are in the party its pointless to shout for another party member, as that person with the party friendly build can’t actually join a full party.

They will click on the party name, see that its full and assume that they got what they where looking for.

And with Whisper only working when it feels like it, you can’t really just ask in the shout for the potential party member to pm you about it ether.

Taunt is nice. I can provide heals, but more are welcome.

So no, I don’t really care. But, I expect people to semi pay attention.

I’m a solo player, and i have two good reasons:
1- You don’t need to wait for parties, you just need to go and kill things

2- I don’t like people

needs at least a linker or pelt for grind parties, the rest, i don’t care what you are.

most of the time people just throw the party link in shout and whoever can click first gets it.
there isn’t enough parties grinding to actually be picky who you want to grind with.

Basically, It’s like this:

If you’re handling a business you need someone trained for the role. I.E if you have computers you’ll need ITs or Computer Science Graduates to handle it for you and so on and so forth.

Now, If i have a Hospital why would i choose the Licensed Doctor over the Village Shaman? Of course, because one is more effective than the other.

Same logic applies in the game. You chose to be the dps swordsman that you wanted to be and neglected pelt? Then you either make the party and find people yourself or deal with the consequences that come with your decision to go full dps.

cryo 3 + whatever

1 or 0 Taunt :
Good HP pool + pelta 3. Pelta 3 better than pelta 2. Pelta 2 better than pelta 1. Pelta 1 Required for swordman.

You also need to pick theses classes by making them synergies. Have poeple that play good ,with high attribut level and with the highest level you can.
For me builds that doesnt fit in this list are just trash. So many trash build when you walk on Fed street…

If you don’t got crit rate, you not coming along.

this. people tell you to f*** off when you advise or warn them having pelt is better and still works with their dps build only to whine and accuse you of discrimination

Which is not discrimination in a way.
You could say, not taking a rank in Peltasta is equivalent to carrying a sign “I do not want to play in a party” on your armor.

I am a DPS myself so I don care what builds my party members have. Just grab 4 different classes to maximize exp bonus for grinding party is enough. Although peltasta and chrono will make the party more efficient but I dont really care anyway. Just dont leech by doing nothing in my party. Every jobs are good on its own way.

I take that we’re talking on swynergy builds here, because no one in the right mind would level up with a guy that went for… say, SW2, Hoplite1, Barbarian 1, Corsair 1, Doppel 1, Dragoon 1.

It’s full out of synergy.

well

I also had a wizzard c2 linker 1 elementalist 3 … but I don’t find the pic

I really love seeing rainbow build wizard players. I appreciate them because damn those angry small minded metawhores.

It amuses me and they’re generally fun to hang around with.

but when they have under 5k it’s Time For Trollinking With Physical Link

basically it ticks me off when someone has under 5k hp… and they’re over 120 or 150 or even worse still 170

god forbid me hanging out with archers and their teeny tiny HP pools that i will soon babysit

There are indeed archers with 0 cons, but maxed plate mastery + almost 2400 life from hair costume + hp gems + hp awakening.
It’s not very realistic to meet them but they still exist.
I often see archer with +0 bow or crossbow or Quarrel shooter 3 without cafrisun or arder dagger etc…
