I know it’s possible to build a STR paladin but like someone said before it’s mainly a support character with a few damaging skills. I see no point on taking a paladin c3 (if you have barrier scroll) because of its damage and the support would be better off coming from a full support priest/PD.
So basically that leaves paladin as a gimped support, even when building STR, which is sad. Paladin should contribute like 80~90% of the dps that pure DPS classes can pull off (or even more considering they also have support skills) and be a little more defensive and help against high damage pulls.
But right now, as several reports posted here and elsewhere demonstrate, that’s not the case. If pardoner could not make barrier scrolls then Paladins would be a barrier bot, at least filling the support role competently, but still not being able to DPS at all.
Since I want to roll DPS/Support I’m gonna create a Wizard. Even though I wanted to play a melee class, I want to be considered a DPS first.
