P2W Model Prevents People From Playing & Enjoying The Game

So to make some things clear since people hype the P2W aspect so much in this thread - the OP nowhere mentioned or stated that IMC has made the game P2W already - but hes concerned that things might go this way and western guys dont like p2w aspects so much

as for the stuff i quoted - stillthe same opinion dungeon entries wont hurt players - only 24/7 grinder who think of nothing else but their own benefits but are the first to cry if others can buy what they selfclaimed “hard earned”

my opinion on the trade restrictions changed tho since a guy mentioned the obvious wich i didn even think of - goldseller can buy the token in game for silver - ehm ya…theory busted

RNG cash shop still remains the same - rng in game no problem but rng in cash shop no way i dont like rng stuff cause itll make me spend more than i even want to (just to get this and that or that etc) like "open 100 packs to get shards - if you collect 10 shards you can craft to something wonderful - now imagine you open the 100 packs you planned and open 8 shards - now you feel the need of buying more packs cause otherwise your shards are worthless right? you buy more and more until you get these 10 shards together and the item you desire - no way that such stuff happens here thats one of the few things were i would be strongly against xD - and nope i never played lottery in my life and never joined a casino - if some people like it its okay - your opinion not mine but i wanna play a game not a damn online casino xDDD

considering I paid 90, they’re already behind.

Heh. That’s honestly what made me hesitant at first to do the Founder’s Pack. I’d be paying what I’d be paying for a B2P game, but instead, I just get some benefits in the game, and the promise to play it a month earlier than F2P people. I so much wanted that price to be to buy myself into the game, but oh well…

Not win but get what ever the item give you, you suport imc this way as well. So imc win money you get some benefits in game. Thats how F2P mmorpg works globaly.

You dont like what it give dont get it. 100% of mmorpgs doing founder packs. Some give more some give less in it. How much bns asked for its founder? How much bd? How much normally an mmorpg asking? More that 50$ way more. And its in alfa states of the game.

Why are you even replying to me if you aren’t going to answer my question but instead beat around the bush with “support IMC … money … how f2p works … bla bla bla”.

Oh, wait. Could be that there is no answer because ToS isn’t p2w (yet …)

So I just got this idea.

Make the Cash Shop items available in-game, and give them a little something extra – statistically or cosmetically – to encourage people to work for them.

There’s still the option to spend RL money on them, but if you get the in-game version of the item, it’s even better.

But i did its not my problem you dont like it.
You asked whatt you win i did tell you.
You say “p2w assumes I “win” something for buying said p2w item” and i did say what i think of it.
If any thing its you snd people that think like you that for some reason dont want to understand that you can get it from the AH for free.

Imagine online card games - if ya call ToS p2w you may as well call these p2w since you can buy zillions of booster in a minute (just opening them costs some time) and you win against trash decks! (as soon as such a game releases and nobody had time to farm 24/7 for 6 months yet)

so according to people Hearthstone is p2w
the day league of legend released it’s p2w cause you can buy champions wich others dont have and had no time to get via gameplay - champions wich are alot better than the standard ones (now dont tell me there arent such champions - you usually see those on the pick/ban list of pro teams)

^ now ya see how BS some of the arguements really are? (to those saying exp cards are p2w already - early access alone would be p2w etc)

you clearly never played a p2w game before such as wartune - league of angels - most of the mobile games nowadays were you simply buy yourself up to be immortal and cannot loose no matter what happens you just cant cause you spent 10k USD and youre OP - aion (not entirely but ya it went down to be almost p2w)

those filthy headgears are no way near p2w yet - the stats arent much of a deal yet also considering you can buy mediocre headgears of those who purchased them and didn get their wanted stats - or maybe even perfect stats for your character who knows! those arent gamebreaking and nothing people should be concerned about - if those headgears had NO limit and you could just pump them up like no tomorrow then its a whole different story - i still hate magic scrolls dont want them but they arent killing us or even “the game experience” - you dont have less fun cause somebody got 10 more stats on his headgear than you - or do you? Oo

Sadly people see that imc will change plance if alot will say they dont like it. So now people try to get as much free things as they can. Dont understandibg they can get this things for free any ways. AH. They can use it.

Except “paying for a product” and “receiving the product” are both part of “buying the product”, so no, the question “what do I win when I buy all these “p2w” items” is still un-answered.

So many people pretend they know what p2w is and just label any f2p game with it.

You win or more correctly get what ever thisbitem give you from look to stats or even vip benefits.
I dont know what answer you looking for.

P2w is when you buy an item for real life money that give you benefits snd there is no way what so ever to get it for in game corensy.

The original reason to implement such reason were (legit) concerns about botting, and was an attempt to limit it. It hasnt been about botting for many years tho. Its purely an artificial limit to ensure people play more (in terms of months, not hours). And is a pretty ‘below the belt’ way of getting people to pay for their hours spend when using a sub model, or get them to buy cashshop unlocks for more entries.

All card games are, im not sure how you can claim otherwise. I take it you never played the game at launch and had matches against players whopping out legendary after legendary. But that’s an issue with cardgames in general, not so much Hearthstone specifically. Buy more packs get more cards.

P2W is not a relative term you know. Just because something is more P2W then something else, doesnt magically make that ‘something else’ not P2W anymore.

That said, ToS isnt much P2W at all with the current cash shop items. Tokens will be easily enough to get ingame via whales so im not considering the +movementspeed. The effect of the magical scrolls and the value silver has on ‘‘winning the game’’ isnt something we can judge yet, so we will have to wait and see.

I kinda got this vybe as well, I’m not sure whether its true or not but it would explain some things. Its not like this would be the first time something like that happened and sadly it wont be the last

P2W format is not as bad as people think, of course when you think about games from nexon it hurts your soul to think about P2W. But a little P2W is good for everyone, and it allows players with busy schedules a way to stay relevant.

Just my opinion, thanks.

Nothing in the ToS Cash shop is P2W. Nobody in iKobt needs to buy cash shop to become the best. 3% Movement speed is nothing, people act like its a ‘huge’ buff or something.

People with busy schedules that buy stuff should have exp rate increase and such that totally makes up for the shorter time spent on the game… that is totally fair.

If that same people tho can oneshot everyone else due to stat boosters exclusive to cash shop then it’s a totally different story and it’s not “a way to stay relevant” but "a way to completely destroy the social gameplay of an mmo

I agree with you, things that are a convenience item are perfectly fine, and thats exactly what the ToS cash shop has in it in Kobt atm, soooo i dunno what everyones getting riled up about. Over scrolls with minimal impact? Those stats arent even game breaking ~_~
