You are doing it right.
I laughed so hard.
Wow dude just wow. I canât even this is hilariously dumb.
All games with PKs never really get into that good guys vs bad guys.
The majority always fall into âletâs ruin other peopleâs day FOR LULZâ and âletâs bully people because we arenât good enough for arena PvPâ or for larger guilds, at some point it stops being real guild war and basically enlarge version of the previous cases aka zergfest and see which side have the bigger zergs.
Not to mention you can have the most âfairâ system you want, but as long as some âunfairâ fights are allowed, youâve already incur negative emotion into your playerbase. Repeat for a while and you get typical MOBA forums with all the toxicity.
You must have never played Ultima Online, guild would be created for good and evil. Bounties would be put on people and these guild would actively traverse areas that were being plagued with evil people. Like some have mentioned people are to care bared now a days. In UO you had to not carry everything you owned on you and always had to have eye in the back of your head whenever someone would start to just follow you for no apparent reason.
Having both OWPvP and Arena isnât a problem, since theyâre two seperate things. Thatâs like comparing boss fights with general PvE farming, the appeal isnât the same whatsoever.
Players killing eachother creates drama. Ganking some player from a guild means a situation like that is setup, which is far more engaging than any seasonal event will ever be due to players having personal motives. Making people upset isnât a downside in OWPvP, I donât understand how you wouldnât realize this. One of the best things about it is that you can get people upset, since it means being invested in the situation and gives oppritunities for you to get back at them. The only time being upset is a bad thing is for players who donât even try to do at least that.
It doesnât need balancing since if the reward from killing low-level players isnât high enough, then itâs going to occur less. The only ones participating in actions like that are at far greater danger than the ones getting PKâd.
You were describing it as toxic behavior, which means the only ones who would participate in it would be people you donât like in the first place. Itâs not seperating the community at all, in fact itâs just satisfying every part of it rather than dismissing it entirely.
What the hell does this even mean? Whatâs the problem with players organizing themselves towards a goal? If they want to party up on a PvP server/channel/whatever to take out players then more power to them, they clearly care about this more than the ones whoâre managing to get PKâd since they arenât putting in an equivalent effort.
I also play primarily support, and having a support player in an OWPvP party means having an edge over non-organized players already. The possibility of being ganked has never invalidated the potential that non-DPS have.
Bounty Hunter system seens great, together with a system where the Pk also get something from doing it. Something that will insensitive pk (it makes a little to much hardcore I know) like PKpoints where u can trade for something, and on the other side honor-points for killing pk and bounty Hunter quests, and pk be just available in some areas up to x level or something.
I like the notorious system, like the L2 where you walking happily and spot someone with a red name and u just start running away from it, itâs fun.

I will tell my experience with a OWPvP:
I was playing Aion, I am the normal quest seeker player who likes to make crafting and go around the world freely (something that ToS says is gonna encourage). I was with my little character recolecting things for a quest when from nowhere I lost 50% of my health: I was confused, I used my teleportation skill just to get a perspective; maybe I was being attacked by a monster I didnât notice⌠I was never more wrong there was her: A little BITCH who with no reason started to cast magic versus me. I started to run, my life was in danger! I was, like always, a full support character I knew I wonât be able to kill her, but with some strategy I wonât get killed. I ran without looking back, after 1 minute I stopped; but then another skill hit me THAT BITCH, she wonât let me leave. Whatâs worst? She wasnât alone, there was another girl in party with her that also was after me after some time.
The chase began, I was running for 30 minutes straight without knowing what to do(healing and teleporting everytime I could); I never imagined that a player could hit me because NEVER happened to me before in the game. I became an achievement for this girl; I told her to stop, but she was running at the same speed that me. It was boring, it was frustrating, I couldnât do anything until my friend conneced (by chance) and told me that they couldnât hit me if I went near a Safe Point. I ran to the Point, but she still followed me. I decided to disconnect it was not fair, I was something like lvl 28 and she 34; I lost my time.
You could say:
-Just let her kill you; just no, I have my own pride and if I didnât want to fight then I donât see why I must be killed.
-You could have know that the map was PvP; well, maybe but I am not interested in that kind of stuff so I never searched for it, It never happened to me before and my quests were pushing me to that field. Also I was a total newbie, I only played the game because 3 friends wanted to try it.
-You could have asked someone; everybody ignored me, they were like me making their own quests and had the same or less level than me so they just walked away.
-It was just bad luck; I was attacked 5 times more like this in the next 20 lvls, but the more lvls I got the more stupid easy I found myself dying to an asssasin or full equiped (equip to kill people) warrior without time to react or make something against it.
Tl;DR:
- Open World PvP is gonna be frustrating for those who arenât familiar with the system
- Even with lvl restrictions, people ainât stupid; the PK usually kill someone after his victim is low or fighting other monsters so you caât react with full power to the attack.
- Get PK points for making other people suffer; Against it at 100%
- Get PK point for âprotectingâ the victims, almost impossible without the 3rd point being activated so against it.
- But there is people who like it; there is always someone who can get fun with this; but when everyone is getting killed in low levels, when they reach the high leves they will want revenge becoming usually also PK.
PvP places? an arena? little PvP games? Yes please! People will be PREPARED for these, they wonât get caught making other tasks, they will choose special builds for this, they will ask for it. WoE style? Awesome, add more strategie to the place; but please donât make the OWPvP a thing.
I was only answering the Open World in all the server, but I wouldnât want a channel for only PvP neither; I prefer the money being used to improve the original channel.
Thatâs ridiculous, a PvP channel wouldnât be nearly costly enough to take up enough resources to improve general player experiences more than serving a niche.
<-Sorry bad english speaker here XD I will add more info about the last post:
-PvP can be easily âbalancedâ when you can have a âModeâ in wich certain skills can be nerfed or limited. (Ro in Woe had restrictions, also other PvP modes in many games).
-If you make a full PvP channel every âbalanceâ must be done affecting the PvE and PvP experience. Thus making it harder to balance.
-Harder to make = More resources used and effort that could be used in other areas.
That was what I was refering when I said it could take money (because at some point every resource is money) from the general improvement of the game.
Ah, that makes more sense. Honestly thatâs not too much of a worry however, since the only changes necessary in OWPvP would be how skills affect other players rather than complete reworks like they do sometimes for regular PvP. Nobody whoâs going into a PvP channel is going to expect it to be fully balanced, especially with ganking involved whichâll result in that regardless of how they try and balance it.
Lol man⌠Aion is a full pvp game, they heavily reward killing ppl from the other faction, the pvp starts at lv 18, this much is basic that ever the map show you where the rift(way to invade) is located and there are quest to kill the enemy faction.
The enemy faction canât read what you write, and she as just doing her quest too lol.
The OWPvp WILL bring some hardships doesnât matter the way you put it, but not something that will destroy your game experience.
For ToS game style I believe a full open world pvp is kinda hard to apply, the pvp channel may be a way but⌠I think that some maps been pvp enable are more realistic, with duels, arena (that 5x5 or 3x3) and siege for GvG as the PvP mode
This is what I have been talking about.
And some people thought I was being ridiculous. Yet, here someone comes to testify. =P
A jail system would be nice and fun.
A dungeon would be a nice jail⌠c:
i say no to pk i dont mind pvp but not pking casue there are always people who will bully and just go around killing low lvls regardless of punishment system
You can man up and fight people in PvP whoâs also looking to PvP, instead of ganking people who just want to PvE?
It ainât happen, people wants a map for ganking, didnât you realized that
They call it PvP but killing lowbies it is properly called âgankingâ.
Anyway, if it is a separate map dedicated to the scope, I see nothing bad to have that. But NO exp there. If you want have fun with your so-called PvP, thatâs enough, but on top of that, also get exp (and with bonus, too!), sorry, no.
Imo the serious PvP is done in arena, where you most likely meet people in your league. PK ânoobsâ and lowbies is no fun to me, my fun is when I get the kill AND risking my ass for it.
