PK reminds me of invasions in the Souls games. Interesting conceptually, but freaking awful in practice. So… I think it would be better if the game have specific PVP areas (or areas where PK is allowed, “danger areas”?). The PK and PVP elements are not universally loved, after all.

At least, PVP places aren’t intrusive (Arenas & Battlefields). But I really don’t like PKing, plus it doesn’t fit ToS at all…
Aion is one of THE PKing game, but the game is made for it. ToS isn’t made for PKing, but PvP is fine.
Safe Zone is a Good Idea But I hate games with too many servers XD cause one server might be ghost town in the near future and also dont u guys enjoy the game when theres many players u can chat and play with XD
The simple fix, open pk and non pk servers. I mean the game is channeled already so not everyone will be in the same zone all the time.
@and_rea What do you have against a PvP channel with a little bonus EXP? I don’t understand your reasoning, all I can read from your post is “I don’t like it so it’s bad”.
May I remind you that classic RO had something similar in the form of Guild Dungeons?
If you don’t like it you can just not participate on it, nobody is forcing it on you and calling it “PKing noobs” is extremely stupid considering that if you join the PK channel you should be aware of the risks.

Open pvp maps in themselves, aren’t bad thing. The bad thing is how them will became after a while.
Castle dungeons cannot be compared, they are reserved to guilds winning castle in woe, while anyone can enter on open pvp map.
My point is against people that are ganking others, and call that pvp. And, open pvp maps will fills with that kind of people imo.
I just hope to be wrong, if any map like that will be implemented, we will see how it ends

What’s wrong with anyone being able to enter? Just don’t enter if you don’t want to PvP. This isn’t complicated.
There is always room for PvP. It keeps players on their toes. It distracts you from the endless grinding of kRPGs and adds personality to another uninteresting map. I think noob zones should be protected from PvP. Or possibly a system that punishes people for killing players that are much weaker.
If you want to play something without PvP, go play Farmvile 
Just one pvp and one pve, that way people who enjoy the pvp fashion dont interfere with those who rage about getting wrecked in open world. Yeah having like 5 of each server is stupid, unless their turnout rate for players is over 9000

And yes, good PK is all about restrictions. And since we have moar computer powah, pk’s can’t log into certain maps, related or not to their level, thus, they can’t kill low level characters
I would play on a seperate open pk server, that’d be hella fun. I’d imagine the population would be fairly small though haha.
I don’t think the current server settings should be modified or include a specific channel with open PK unless it offered some significant xp bonus or something along those lines.
In terms of making a pk server more fun and prevent general griefing:
- The existing monster safe areas should be pk safe
- Towns should be pk safe
- May need some sort of level limitation for initiation per zone so a level 300 can’t come back to a 20 zone and murder everyone. There would need to be additional protection for lowbies to prevent their cleave from hitting high level people attempting to grief them (probably a toggle option somewhere so they can choose to initiate the high level if they want).
Other cool things would be an announcement system like DAoC where you can see who just killed who on the map you’re currently on.
I think a well implemented pk/jail system could work with a large judge and a good proof system. And the jail has to be bad place to stay with many things to do, not only trying to scape.
PK? Only on a PvP server please.
I’d preffer to worry only about the game challenges and not have to worry about other players doing pk or ganking.

Look at DayZ and see how well THAT turned out: 100% KoS (Kill-On-Sight) for 100% of the player-base you run into unless you knew them before hand. The average lift-span was somewhere around 3 minutes at one point with 60% or so of the deaths being bandit kills because people like to get their rocks off by pezzing other people off…
And don’t we lose 1% of our EXP when we die? Who wants to deal with players killing you when it takes (at this point) 1-2 hours for 1% at mid levels?
