FYI, I’m a Cleric, yet I know the struggles of my friends who get into cleric-less parties with people like you who quit without even trying, while they take a good effort finishing the dungeon despite the lack of members. I can only imagine that will be my hardest struggles once I make a Wizard or Swordsman or something, which I’m planning to.

Usually I consider the main benefit of having a healer in the group
to be not needing to waste silver on countless potions to ensure the run
goes smoothly.
If as a cleric you refuse to fill that role, you might as well be a
lump of cheese in the party, laughing manically at your sub-par damage
while refusing to access your given skill set to support the party.

You have to understand that I wouldn’t refuse to fill the healer role IF I had the tools to make efficient heals - let’s say, heal Lv10+ or Priest’s Mass Heal + Resurect + Revive, it’s the minimum.
So because a random non-healer cleric can’t provide you this and logically asks you to find a real healer for the team, you consider him/her to be useless/deadweight ? Even considering what his build can provide to your team - be it off/def support, magical/physical damage, utilities, etc ?
Then I am sorry but you walk near your shoes, at least concerning regular content where I’m pretty sure every DD cla ss can do its job, even the cleric DD cla sses : Krivis/Bokor/Sadhu/Druid/Monk… And you’ll notice that cleric has been gifted with many DD subcla sses, and just 2 healing ones, so it might explain why you may find some people who are not specialized in heal.
And imho, it’s cool that things are like that, because the game is calling for diversity ; you can look for the most optimized build and you’ll probably find one, but the thing is, you can expect to see people incoming with other ideas of what their ideal build is, and as the “nerf/up game” will develop further in future, the top-tier builds of today may become the weak ones of tomorrow, and the weak builds may become the overpowered ones… Especially now that we don’t know what the future r8-9-10 cla sses will look like and what they’ll bring on the tabletop.
So, to summarize my thoughts, you’d better look for heal-specialized clerics when you need heal, and then refuse non-healing clerics, it is up to you really… But you gotta admit aswell that non-healer clerics can do lot of good in many forms, be it support or damage - as long as their build is cleverly done and efficient in its very purpose. 
Agree with you. Some newbies just never read or see through other classes skill tree. They thought cleric must be healer and support. And they forgot something that we call holy mages and paladins are always from cleric.

Great topic, on a serious note. I think a lot of people come on this game expecting generic MMO builds and are shocked when some classes are pretty out of the box, but work great.

I’ve run through every dungeon in the game without a healer. Level 5 heal means I get to save some potions. Level 10 heal means everyone should be full health at all times. If people are incapable of running a dungeon with a c1 cleric they’re just bad, the normal dungeons in this game aren’t difficult and can be completed with no heals at all. It helps to have heals just like it helps to have supports or a dedicated tank but 5 random anythings can clear dungeons just fine.

Hmm people can build whatever it is they want but know this at end game earth tower do not blame people for kicking you out of parties to get the most optimal party. So yes enjoy your character but end game is a totally different thing full supports are needed and are very hard to find to keep in a static party.
full supports arent needed, but are helpful. just havong cleric c2 is enough. as long as u have cleric c2, u can do anything u want.
