No To Any IP Block

I would also like to say “no IP block”, but alas, humanity still has ways to go. Oh well, atleast most of us don’t use ancient torture devices anymore, and if they do, they do it for kinky stuff. :smirk:

I…I learned english because of MMO’s… I was denied games because of IP blocks, we are greeted with the chance to work out the culture differences through games and work together without any borders, yet there are people who don’t want that.

I can only but back up this idea, International servers for the win !
Exception made of the countries that already have specific publishers (business is business…)
Xenophobic players like slowturtle might wanna try single player games.

Why would people without legs want to use the same streets as people with legs? I can think of quite a few reasons.

How people can be so bad to want to take the choice of people who waited so long and put many expectations in a game ? No ip block for any country! :triumph:

I think the ip block implementation is the worst I’ve seen

Been waiting for years since project R1, just to see my country listed in ip shitblock hammer.
Recommend this game to my friends, just to feel betrayed together.
Participating in every polling, to be kicked out from the rest.

Right now my local publisher is doing beta giveaway, but I don’t care anymore (for every reasons stated in your every media). I understand the circumstances since I’m also in this kind of industry, so basically this is just a useless complain. No international savior for you.

bump this, together with all of useless silent voices.
ps: arguments about language barrier is interesting, but stop it.

It’s possible that they could make servers based on certain languages, and they can still be part of the international umbrella thing. Basically, under one game, it could have multiple servers designed for different languages. From what I remember from my hazy memory, <insert-a-game’s-name-because-I-don’t-know-if-I-am-allowed-to> had servers based on languages. There were a few English servers and a few French ones… German too? I think there were more, but my memory is not clear.

It may sound rather pointless to separate the server, but this would allow people from certain regions to access servers that meets their preferable language. This might also take away the issue of difficult party searching during certain times.

Frankly, I was quite upset at your statement “blocked from the rest of the world,” but I see where you’re coming from. It makes sense. I know that it is unlikely they would do such a thing, because of the license agreement though (and possibly some game performance issues like latency and such). I may also be misunderstanding or ignorant about something in terms of game servers too, so I’m not sure if it’s a real possibility.

Anyway, I’m just expressing this idea. I don’t know if anyone would read this because I’m replying a post from June at September. I came here merely in hopes to find good news or at least a single shard of hope implying that there won’t be an IP block.

Here’s my story. I’m a Korean, and I’m still residing in Korea. I’ve met my close friends online through international mmorpgs, and they have been very hyped up to play ToS. Most of them reside in America, one of them in France, another in Indonesia. It’s a bit disappointing that I won’t be able to play with them when it becomes available. I may just reluctantly play on the Korean server; however, I have an… odd predicament. I am indeed Korean who lived in Korea ever since birth, but my Korean skills are quite lacking. My Korean skills are 5th grade/6th grade level (or lower), and I am a college student. I wouldn’t understand many words as my vocabulary list is that of an eight-year-old and mostly filled with daily life words (not things found in games). Fail Korean right here. Anyway, I’m still deciding if I should play on the Korean server or not play at all. I am inept utilizing the Korean keyboard, and my spelling is atrocious. I am also not fond of the Korean community since they generally don’t take too kindly of English-speaking people, which I don’t blame them.

Anyway, pardon my grammar mistakes or of such if I have made any. I’m currently deprived from sleep, so I’m tired. In other words, I can’t words. orz
And my apologies if anyone actually ended up reading all this rambling from a sleep-deprived teen who is awake at 2 in the morning.

I support this as well even though licensing and stuff may get in the way but having people barred from the general segment of the world just doesn’t feel right

Yes. Please. No To IP Block. I need to improve my Russian and Portuguese language please. Thanks.

No to IP block ! Let’s expand our horizons !

Blocking IPs is really bad since not all of us live in the same country as our friends, and having to use a proxy could kill the whole experience due to lag and DC.

I’m all up for it, being able to play with friends you’ve made from all over the world is a big plus.
