It’s like flash’s new skill sim, you see many choices now

Why invest in swap? You can get charges at lvl2+?for example… swap 2 or 3 times before activate cooldown (18s)?
No, it only gains max number of enemies that can be swapped, 1 enemy per level.
A couple levels are good, but idk why he wants it at 15. o_o

If psy receive dmg cancels Psychic Pressure?
Yes, but idk if Sure Spell works with it, tho. Need someone to test/confirm.

it’s work in every skill include when you interact with npc and quest’s object.
Goood.
Now you guys go ahead pick all the class you want.
Leave hidden class to me. HAHA
I really don’t think 8 is gonna be the max rank. Maybe for open beta, with the 350 cap, but the 600 cap needs at least 11-12 ranks.
Maps have been leveled down to 500 at cap now, so it may be less.
I think 10 is fairly reasonable.
Update to the Skill Simulator: I changed the icon opacity for selected and non selected class icons so it should be mucg easier to see which ones are selected.
Did anyone find major bugs? Otherwise I’m going to see if I can add save functionality tomorrow
Thanks for updating the simulator again man
Well… gonna play the simulator again and again, and find out which one suits my gameplay…
Back to work then.
My hands are itching! Can’t wait for @Flash to update his simulator
Edit: Oh it’s been updated! Man your quick! Big thanks for this!
@flash
Nvm, maybe it’s just on me.
the c2 Divine Might and c1 D.m. took up 15 points before… Now not anymore thanks!
This will help with balance. You can make C2 and C3 skills stronger. And you can load less of the hallmark skills into C1… So like in the example of Wizard… There is a huge boost in power to Wizards that go Wiz1->Pryo1. And I think a lot of that is trying to make sure if you go Pryo1 the skills are still worth using in the late game. Well now you could move one of their big scaling spells Fire Ball to C2 or C3 Pryo and the builds that wouldn’t normally be able to get C2-C3 could come back to it.
You could also get away with making the scaling stronger between Lv1 and a lv15 version of a skill.
All around smoother progression I think… Less to worry about, since people don’t get stuck with C1-Lv5 skills for certain builds.
Well, this is just an idea, but with this new system it also keep the possibility of Diablo 3’s Paragon or GW2’s skill point-ish ‘never cap’ expansion open.
Where after unlocking the last class, you can STILL farm more job levels/circles, eventually giving you a character with C3 of all classes.
While that sounds insanely strong, there’s still a limit already implemented in the game.
Hotkey slots - at some point those extra classes you pick will only replace at most 1 skill on your hotkey because of various reasons (buff limit, different weapon type required, bad synergy with your current build, etc)
Between that and the exorbitant amount of exp that’ll be required for each extra circle, very few people will continue past a certain point (I mean as it is it’ll be quite a long time before we even get that many lv 500-600s)
This is just testing, this wont deffinitely be in the finished game, right? I don’t like the idea very much, it seems chaotic at a moment and even without it the classes seem a lil unbalanced. If it’s only the classes you have circles in it might be ok.
I was testing the new system on the tosbase simulator and… This system sucks.
I mean, it’s cool to be able to finish every class you choose, and it offers a ton of new possibilities (i.e. the swordie’s Double Slash with the Highlander’s Two-handed Sword Mastery). That’s cool, okay.
But you’ll lose the feeling of “progression”: the old system was a real matter of sacrifice, a motivating system for making your choices wise and well thought. But not anymore…
i.e. now you can still be a Sadhu @ Rank7, after choosing Cleric3>Priest3… Come on!? >_< #stupiditylvlover9000
This system is poorly done, it needs rework. Being able to backtrack has to prevent you from choosing a previous class, it’ll be more fair.
i.e. @ Rank 5, if you choose the path Cleric C1> Priest C1> Priest C2 > Pally C1, you MUSN’T be able to choose Bokor/Diev/Krivis/Sadhu.
But why not?
The sacrifice is still there due to the limitation of how many classes you can choose. Now the real difference is, your not stuck with a class you don’t actually enjoy or that doesn’t really work with what you want to do.
Why is it better for some builds to be gimped due to locked choices?
I’m playing the game right now with this system, the feeling of progression is definitely not lost.
Sure there is always the MAXrank limitation (hopefully).
But still, it’s a bit too much flexible, too much permissive like this…
…And that’s shocking to say that for a 80-classes MMORPG
There’ll be too many “useless”(stupid or fun) builds too…
With the old system you had OP builds and most people would be playing some variations of them. I think that this system with no limitations will produce builds that are even more OP (after people try out the combinations) and that it will eventually result in even less diversity. Rising the bar will punish people for trying out stuff that isn’t mainstream OP. Also, it’s easier to balance stuff when you have some limitations… But I haven’t played ToS at all and this is all just guessing.
This would be true IF the classes were very well balanced and each classes require a ton of thought to filter through.
However, that is not the case right now.
There are clearly a select few cookie cutter builds floating around the forums that are being consistently referred to, for good reason.
For clerics, there are Sadhu and Monk builds.
For Swordsmen, there are Barbarian/Doppel and Barbarian/Corsair builds.
For Wizard there are Pyro/Elementalist builds.
I’m not too familiar with Archers.
All this new freedom does is allow you to pick up classes that reinforce these cookie cutter builds. The less popular classes still need to be fixed so they are on par with the more popular ones. Until that happens, there won’t be too many new effective builds that are going to pop up, because to maximize efficiency/effectiveness you still need to rely on those cookie cutter classes and builds.
Edit: covjek_elementarna_n’s post above this nailed it.
