New Class Advancement System

I am amazed at how people can make bad interpretations out of anything.

Well, it’s also the case for ToS. The actual class system is kind of based on the holy trinity…
We’re not on GW2 ^^

We don’t have dedicated healer, and to my knowledge there’s no way for anyone person to keep a boss’s attention all to himself during the whole fight.
(Just in case your ‘holy trinity’ refers to something else, mine refers to the tank/dps/heal roles with no mixings, tank hold aggro but does crap dps, dps stabs stabs stabs and die if the boss hit them cuz not tank, and healer will be too busy with healing/buffing to do anything else)

Because of the way the stat growth work and how the skills are spread out, there’s no absolutely sit back and watch support/healer. All clerics will have Cure at least, and the cooldown on Heal means they can’t just sit back and spam heal.

We’re not WoW/TERA/whatever holy trinity MMO you think of.

I was talking about the same trinity. That’s why I said “kind of based”.

Because every class can’t heal itself (except pots), unlike it is in GW2 (that’s why I mentioned that game).
Heal is one the main part of the survival. If you want to have a healer, you’ll rather choose a cleric class than any other class. No other class can resurrect/heal (skill) a dead player.

Talking about the trinity was a mistake, because there’s only “1/3” of it. Sorry for the misunderstand.

Lol yes my quote clearly shows me using Barbarian at rank 2 as an example, there is nothing there that indicates me wanting IMC to actually move barb to rank 2.

And I never said anything in favor of cross branching or no restrictions. I like the new system, you don’t. You replied to me first and brought up cross branching. I consider OK, the new class advancement. I know that someone telling Barbarian/Hoplite mix like OP and Pyro/Cryo as a good mix…
In short words, it makes funny but personally, I still deciding in traditional methods.
Even with waiting with rank 7+, I wish the balance on class combinations.
I think the matter is “How to use well” and not letting appear underused classes, which, is sadly repetitive.

This way you can just take all the more op classes.this is a really bad thing they did.it will lead 2 “omg why you take abc and not adf classes like all the good player” and then you will not be taken 2 no where.this way balance will be impossible

All these talks about how OP some classes can be with this system, while Monk is still OP even with the old system applied. (Yes, I’m talking about that Monk who can spam 9k 9k 9k 9k damage like no tomorrow and kill a boss less than 16 seconds.)

For ToS as it is now, one way would be to give swordmen a way to get a huge HP recovery even for a few seconds that would be just a little less good than a cleric’s heal.
Maybe a later wizard class could get some kind of healing too like a drain or smth.
No idea for archer class except a skill that would make their weapons leech life (not so original xD).

We already have skills that enable ground control even on bosses in the wizard tree making them useful as “tanks”, it’s already a lot better than so many other MMOs :smiley:

Ok so monk is op.lets make more thong op instead of fixing monk.having 80 classes is onlly good when at last 40 of them are good.if all the 4 starters have onlly one build vrhat os so much better that any thing then the classes system is a fail.

They buffed swordsmen hp and con’s hp beneficial in one of the patch of this week. Surely to make it more viable to have a build a little more tanky ^^

His interpretation may have been a bit over the top but not necessarily bad there were merits to the old system as well.

Exactly my point. The thing is about Monk is that they are already strong pre-new class advancement system.

Back to the topic, instead of arguing with each other, why don’t we make a constructive feedback about the new system? Patches like this will be highly unlikely to be reverted back unless there is no way around to make it better than the previous patch. Heard devs working their ass off to refine the system so chill your tits down people, geez.

Uhm what? On Echo of Soul for example everybody translated Korean stuff and wich classes and builds “are the best” for team arena and wich are “the worst” - people claimed archer suck in Team Arena cause they get smacked fast - we had 2 of them in our team and still we rocked high elo 5vs5 and had highest win:loss ratio cross server. We laugh people in the face who claim “The class abc sucks for this and that purpose better take xyz class”
As i noted in another thread - only the player makes a class “OP” or “total crap” if you play a “claimed by other people OP class” you can still suck with it and be better off with another “style of gameplay” hence another class

Are you new 2 mmo gaming? a class can be op if the devs made it so.if class a doig 9-10 k damage have close and range skillls can use buffa amd heals.class bcd can do 5-8 have onlly one of close range suport or tsnk skills at a god lvl.if it so class a is op .not the plsyers did it so.
