@trielav The new system DOES NOT allow cross-branching and I never said anything in favor of cross branching. So why are you bent on asking me about it? The new system has restrictions. KCBT3 players are still limited to 6 ranks. You can’t get Elementalist at rank 2, it’s still locked to rank 4. We DO NOT have complete freedom. The new system does not allow you to do any and everything. Can we drop cross branching now? See Fate’s recent post about game balance. To say I (or anyone else) don’t care about game balance because we support this system that IMC has already implemented is akin to saying IMC doesn’t care about game balance because they implemented such a system. If the devs don’t care about game balance from your point of view, then your issue is way above me and with the devs.
@Arukado The reason you had to choose between Barb and Hop is that IMC MADE us choose between them. You really think we would be having this discussion if IMC never locked out classes you skipped to begin with? You prefer the old system and don’t like the fact that IMC changed their minds. If that’s your reasoning fine, IMC has made changes to the game I don’t personally like. But I won’t argue just because IMC did it this way first, it shouldn’t be changed ever". Also, why can’t we select classes that are "equivalent? After I go Pyro3, why do I HAVE to go a higher tier class? Why can’t I go cryo? Because IMC didn’t let us do it at first?
thanks Flash for updating the simulator again
but the reuse count is not indicated; lol nvm, this part is very crucial anyway.
Is it the new Wagon Wheel of Highlander doesn’t have Reuse?
plot twist: rank 8 and above are announced to be removed BUT ACTUALLY are hidden classes waiting to troll us bwahahaha
EDIT: most of the skills available at rank 6 C1 like oracle and alchemist are of specific uses, like most of oracles are for foresight and less attack skills and alchemist has only one attack and all other craftings, maybe Devs trying to decide wether to put attack skills in c2 and c3 or something
(think of the C1 skills as passive skills that comes along with the class)
So you you can’t answer the question and you’re just going to ignore it.
Blindly cheerleading for any changes they make doesn’t make you their representative, and it doesn’t mean you agree with them, since they may already be planning other changes or experimenting to get data. Don’t try to blame them for your own posts.
Are you asking me am I in favor of cross branching? No. Why? Cause I don’t want complete freedom with the classes. There should be some restrictions, and the new system still has restrictions. We have limited ranks, you can’t get rank4 classes at rank2, and we don’t have cross branching.
Now I have to ask you why did you bring up cross branching in the first place? The new system allows backtracking and selecting both classes in a rank. You went way into left field and brought in cross branching, something that is NOT in the new system.
I don’t like every single thing IMC has done in regards to the game, but I do like the changes made to the class system. And we all know that this new system isn’t finalized the game is still in beta. Who knows, they may change the system later on to where you can backtrack but CAN NOT select both classes in a rank. A change you will like but I will disagree with. See how that works?
And how could I be blaming them for my posts when I am AGREEING with the current changes they made in regards to the class system?
Pyromancer + Cryomancer killing a boss in 30 seconds OP!!! lol but if a Pyro + Cryo combo killing a boss in 30 seconds is OP when a Pyro only could kill a boss in 30 seconds wasn’t OP… Wellp, OP!!!
Discussion of the new system involves discussion of alternative ideas, and many of the posts supporting it say the reason is adding more options and build freedom. That raises the question of whether they’d want even more options, or whether more would be too much. Since you don’t want cross branching and nobody else is answering, we’ve narrowed down the range of what players will support and gained more information on why they’re reacting the way they are.
It certainly wouldn’t make sense to blame them for your posts while disagreeing, would it? If they’re not responsible for your posts, then you can’t say this:
Furthermore, I accused you of not caring because of the part about moving barbarian to rank 2, which IMC hasn’t done, so raising that question wasn’t AGREEING (in all caps) with them.
Speaking of that, I wonder if IMC ever thought about a crossbranching system. It can give us even more choices (freedom über alles), and can be a total mess too
In fact, everyone here wants “freedom with restrictions”. But people disagrees on the level of the restrictions ^^
Will the current class advancement system stay the same in the upcoming jCBT?
Lots of games have tried it and i have yet to see it succeed it makes things even more impossible to balance. Any game iv seen try this ether just gives up on balance or starts making certain combinations not aloud. Honestly probably just best to stay away from mixing the classes.
About what players will support or not, people on this forum who are in kcbt3 have reported a mostly positive reception of the new system. It’s safe to say that the koreans for the most part like it. If the system makes it into Korean full release, then expect it in other versions.
You know I used barbarian at rank2 as an example for something, you know this cause you read the whole comment to quote it. I never said anything about wanting it moved to rank2. You know what else IMC hasn’t done? Cross branching. But here you are still beating that dead horse to death. Find someone who wants cross branching and no restrictions with classes and have a discussion with them about it.
It’s because they don’t use algorithm where the number of “points” in each branch will affect every skills : damages, strenght of buffs, strength of controls etc etc. ^^
To play along, I went with the interpretation that you intended moving barbarian to rank 2 to be a solution, but you just denied that. With the “simply because you don’t like it” part it sounds like you’re trying to falsely assign me a position we both disagree with. It sounds like you should be ashamed.
Then why are you still replying? It wouldn’t be fair to just speculate, so please explain why you keep telling me to stop discussing something with you, but keep replying to that line of discussion.
Too many games rely on trinity roles, which really constrain balance. Real combat doesn’t have powerful battlefield healing, which has been used to maintain the “little human fighting giant monsters” format. Of course, the problem is getting killed early on ruins all the fun, so games need ways to keep the action going. Hopefully TOS will have a lot of creativity in later boss fights, since the variety of class skills and limited healing could support different types of combat than tank/dodge and spank (a type which rewards one-dimensional min/maxing).
