New Class Advancement System

While it’s true that you’re sacrificing higher tier classes, not all of them are better than the previous classes. Since I play Wiz as a main, I’ll just use Pyromancer as an example… even though it’s getting nerfed to the floor. Fire Ball is one of the main skills that any Wiz who goes Pyromancer uses and not many other skills can compete with it in spammability and DPS in the Wiz tree. And this is with the low ranking class at rank 2.

And if you really wanted to go full DPS, you could make a Pyromancer C3 and Elementalist C2 instead of Pyromancer C2 and Elementalist C3 to get Max Fire Ball and still have Meteor as well since I believe Meteor’s damage isn’t really reliant on the additional damage it has but instead on the 300% ATT on it (could be wrong).

Cleric should be the same way with Krivis C3 and Sadhu C2 instead of Krivis C2 and Sadhu C3 (I can’t think of any other atm since I just learned about the Skill Simulator Beta from Flash)

You cannot choose everything… If u choose old class u are gonna lose new classes ranks upgrades… There is still balance you know…

ofc not all high tier classes are better than older ones but i simply cant imagine someone going to backtrack after lets say rank 6 ( base lvl idk 180 or so) the greed for a new class at this point is way to high. Cant imagine someone going to take swordman c2 instant of shinobi rank 7. Even if swordman c2 would be a better choose for your overall build.

7-8 rank is going to be final…

show me a legit source plz cause i did not find any final decisions

Its not 100% confirmed. In latest Indonesian event they said that they want 30 hidden classes… So that final rank would be 7 then…

Q) Up to which rank would we be able to play in the Open Beta?

A) Our original plan was to open up to Rank 10~11, but we are thinking about changing that. We are thinking about hiding 20 classes so there is a chance that the last rank could be 8, but it’s not confirmed yet

Oh okay but damn 30 hidden classes. I was so excited when they announce hidden classes. Hope it will be really difficult to get acces to them. would be a shame if it is only find the npc and bam ur are a Ninja.

@sebastian_sanders199 I’m not sure if you are patronizing me or being sarcastic. Max rank was here before. It was necesary cose devs can’t make infinite number of classes. Only in this no limitation IN CHOSING CLASSES system it became a limitation. And you can easily remove it.

@harimaku this is very poor argument, this is true for only a small number of only swordsman skills

This won’t be in finished game, this is just a way to test the game, not the test the future class system.
If this system would be in finished game this would create much problems for devs, for example:

  1. There is no way that all the combinations will be even played, let alone tested in CBT (or ever for that matter).
  2. This would create endless amount of “balancing” work for devs and they don’t want that.
  3. This would make the idea of hidden classes (which seems like a big deal to devs) obsolute and useless.

For me there is no fun in having infinite possibilities without actual sacrifices. You wouldn’t have to put much tought in class selection with this system. This numerous combinations don’t add anything to game diversity, they just water down everything.
It seems that there is awful lot of whining here. “Oh noes, on rank n the choices don’t suit me at all”… so pick one class and move one, there’s at least 4 more ranks after, others will be better. I don’t like the choices between Squire and Corsair but what the hell, I’d get Squire for that little utility. What’s wrong with Alchemist or Pardoner, count them as life skills ranks and move on. You might as well ask for rank reset cose you didn’t like the class you chose.

Also, even with all those combinations you won’t be happy some studies suggest:
The_Paradox_of_Choice
Does-having-choice-make-us-happy

But in the end this thread is pointless and this post is also pointless cose everyone is just rambling about their own toughts and views and arguing with people with different ideas without actually reading everything they wrote or trying to understand it. We’re all children here no matter how old.

You made 80-year-old gamers happy (if they even exist)

Back on topic, I do wonder what the Devs are going to do however when the game is fully released for class rankups since it really is majorly different to how iCBT was compared to the current version.

yeah Attributes help skills alot with that % scaling.

there will probably be guides on how to get em, lol.

if there will be 20 + hidden classes then sure . i dont think it will be difficult to get them.

I thought there will be 4 hidden classes which will be limited per server. The fact that they are limited would prevent many ppl to create guides.

I imagine they were thinking of higher ranks when they made this choice in order to prevent people from getting stuck. If not, they would have to have at least 1 unhidden class each rank. I doubt people would enjoy taking a rank5 class to c3 only to find out rank 8 classes are all hidden and you can’t advance further when the cap would be rank 10+

Do you realize… there is more inbalance with the old system right? The fact that only a few classes were good before because you could not “combine” every class available made it so only a few builds per base class(cleric, wiz, archer, swordman) were used. With this, you open up a lot of GOOD combinations that required 2 classes that would be unable to exist on the same character before this “update”.

Also please, how does it make hidden classes “obsolete”? They are still hidden, you are already limited due to your rank 10 cap. So you still have to make a choice lol… “Do i take this hidden class or do I go monk3?”

why would they be limited? if anything they would be a combination of classes.

1) There is no way that all the combinations will be even played, let alone tested in CBT (or ever for that matter).

Same with the old system… there were useless class builds but what is the problem??? Nothing… You are not gonna lose anything…There was a lots of problem with old system because it was too restricted… It was very hard to level with supporter cleric class in beginning because they werent strong enough… Now you can start with strong Cleric build without losing important skill later in the game… This is just one explains…You are saying there is no sacrifices?? If u are backtracking it means you are gonna sacrifice higher leveled ranks… That is pretty huge sacrifices…

2) This would create endless amount of “balancing” work for devs and they don’t want that.

Not every combo should be good build for everything…

there were some rumors that hidden classes would be limited per server when they first announced that hidden classes will be a part of this game

This is a case of DPS vs Support builds. I’ve highlighted the differences here:

Someone who plays Cleric wouldn’t see this change as negative as someone who plays Swordsman. This change allows diversity with Cleric builds but bottlenecks Swordsman builds even further by enhancing and refining existing cookie-cutter builds.

Rumors aren’t true though.

well there is no real information either so doesnt rly matter what all ppl say
