My thoughts on C7 classes (and Templar as a guild leader)

Templar: Alright so im a guild leader of the standard no-life PvP guild. One of the major things for us is the level/gear race at launch as well as PvP obviously. Now this class currently offers nothing for actual PvP so there is no way im running this as my main. So im not forced to dual client from the start until I have Templar. Really not a fan of dual client a game that gets like 15fps in launch crowds with 2x 280x (Who uses DX9 what is this 2004).

Dragoon: Lets make a spear class for those guys who wen’t Hop3/Cat2 or Hop2/Cat3 and then make it so they can’t use any of the skills while mounted. Maybe they did this on purpose but what do you take for R6 if you go Sword1/Pelt1/Hop3.

Cannoneer: Has a special interaction with the new guild system by doing extra damage to buildings?
Musketeer: Don’t really know much about this one…

Warlock/Featherfoot: I guess wizards are finally done with the elemental theme. Was expecting a lighting based class to round it out though tbh.

Plague Doctor/Cabalist: As a monk I feel meh about either of these. Monk C3 brings nothing new and neither of these seem to complement monk either. Both great classes if your on the Support or Krivis/Druid magic dps line of things though…

Little sad right now because monk is looking more and more meh as classes are revealed. Thought maybe id just main the guild leader character but Templar as a class looks like a totally waste of a circle performance wise.

Templar: I know you won’t like this answer (and the others XD) but maybe you shouldn’t be the leader. Why is it that important to be the leader if the gameplay of the leader class not fits you? Why is it bother you if not you but your friend manages the guild? I think the only thing needed is guild titles that somewhat lets others manage the guild too. I don’t even think you necessary have to think of Templar as the actual leader.

Dragoon: We don’t know if that’s intended.

Warlock/Featherfoot: We don’t know what will be the max rank yet but we know there were plans for 10 ranks of classes… There are still some classes we don’t know of.

Plague/Kabbalist: Monk c3 will definitely offer something. On the other hand I’m sure Kabbalist and maybe Plague too have skills that could help your monk gameplay. Reflect buff… Hp/Sp buff… Why ppl expect that there will be a Monk 2? Play as a Monk and get skills that will help you from others to do that…but if you are waiting for a new STR based Cleric there is a huge chance Army Chaplain will be it.

So what I want to say is that it’s too early for most of the things you say. You still can be right but let’s wait a bit more with this.

It’s not about who is leader or not. No one in our guild is going to want a useless class in their main characters build. Especially not at a high rank like 7.

I dont care have skills only used in GvG (and the two teleport are amazing skills for GvG).

Well… I don’t think it’s useless in any way. It’s a tactical/support class and not a dps for sure. But we didn’t see the last of it either. It’s just its first circle. I think or hope that there should be a lot of dedicated players who will gladly play a Templar.

Yah but we focus on all aspects of PvP including GvG, Arena and inter-guild 5v5. I guess it just means ill have a Templar for GvG and an Alt for Arena. The real question is if the Templar skills are good enough to main for GvG though, if cool-down is too high then i’ll use my “alt” for everything.

I can just warp Templar to my “alt” and then warp 16 members to my “alt”.

If they can add something to Templar to make it worth the slot though then I wouldn’t mind playing it. Otherwise Templar can just be a mobile squire for my guild (on my labtop or something). Heck I think it’s probobly more useful even, “hey guys tele off cooldown, who needs weapon sharpen/repair/food” ;p

It is hardly a “useless” class. You already have six previous ranks to get nearly all the offensive/defensive skill you will need. Being able to summon on a whim, or decrease crafting time, is hardly useless.

I expect Army Chaplain to be PBAoE buffer with aura-like skills to support whole party/raid(army).

Yeah it definitely has to be somewhat support…and because of what you said not because it’s on the cleric tree… XD but I still expect it to be a bit more physical oriented with offensive buffs at least. We will see.

Useless for combat…

Because everything has to be about combat, when you already had six ranks to get said combat skills? Okay, sure… I can guarantee you aren’t going to live long enough in a PvP setting to actually rotate all those combat skills.

Not sure if you’re trolling but you don’t need to be a master at PvP to know you should take any advantages you can…

Also rotate skills? Most skills have 20-60s cooldown and alot of the early swordsman skills aren’t even worth using by level 200+.

ANd, yet, those Dragoon skills are going to fall off at the same pace. So what’s your point of most skills being useless at 200+? Take the skills that won’t fall off before you become a Templar.

Obviously you take classes for the useful skills they provide not the useless ones later. Why do I even need to explain that xD

How about you make any build with Templar. I’ll replace Templar with an extra rank of swordsman just for the 20% stun chance on restraint and see which one wins just off that alone. Let alone taking a rank of cataphract to impale you or a rank of rodellero both of which can disable you for 5-10s off 1 rank.

Lastly skills obviously don’t fall off at the same rate. A skill is useful if it has multiple hits (Stabbing) or if it’s skill damage adds enough that it overwhelms defense. So obviously the higher the rank the less the skill falls off. There’s also Corsair C3 which allows permanent use of combo attack buff and Fencer/Doppel C2

You can take all those classes long before rank 7… Of course, as you’ve shown, you can’t have everything. You can still have nearly everything, though.

You can take Corsair C3, Fencer C2/Doppel C2 long before rank 7. Ok no more replying to this guy, he’s high af xD

And you, obviously, want everything.

Oh dear. So my dream of becoming a Dragoon guild leader is IMPOSSIBLE?
Damm…it would bem so much better if Templar was a quest-related class. My heart is broken now. =(

It will be important for Templars to be active and built towards survivability. I would expect Peltasta/Hoplite builds to be popular for Templars due to added defense and being able to leap places.

hmm dont know about that

plague has a sick regen skill which makes you tankier and you can cure off debuffs almost all the time, you can also spread your own debuffs around you, 1 inch punch, palm strike bleed, and armor break with pandemic sounds legit.
and beak mask with the resistance attribute for more tankyness, incinerate has huge base damage and the mass debuffs from monks skills could make it hurt real bad.

kabbalist gives you that sick giant hp buff, and revenge sevenfold sound real good with a melee class, merkabah could provide nice chip damage aoe to soften up mobs for double punching, combo that with kamehameha and it sounds like a winner
