My beta Feedback (After playing in the Korean OBT)

First of all, sorry for my bad english, not my main language.
After playing the CBT2 I started playing the Korean OBT, and here’s a list of the major problems that i found while playing.
(PS: I’m not talking about the bugs/glitches etc, a lot of people already talked about them)
(PS: I waited to post because I wanted to see how’s the game doing in the kOBT, and i know that many things probably will change to the NA release.)

1-The Grinding system: I realy enjoy grinding in games, BUT, in this game, the grinding system kind of sucks for some classes, i realy like playing as archer, but it’s too hard to grind (especially now on the kOBT, the grinding spots SUCKS), we have a huge gap between the good grinding spots, this causes an ENORMOUS amount of players grinding in the same spots, fighting for some EXP, there should be other grindind areas, and more mobs in secondary channels.

2-The SP: I know that the game is supossed do be based on auto-atacks, but still, the mana regen is soooo bad, playing as archer (sigle target AA) is hard to compete against those Barbarians who just jumps+AA. During combat it’s good to keep the mana regen low, helps to avoid ranged classes spamming skills, but the out of combat mana regen should be a lot better.

3-Boss Figths: Bosses should have a lot more “action”, atm bosses just spam skills that you usually don’t even need to worry about, while you keep trying to reduce it’s huge amout of HP.

3-The Storage: We realy need a shared storage, if I dropped an item and want to use it on my alt, i’ll reduce it’s potential by at least 2, while if you need trade money between characters, you need to wait untill one of your friends can help you, that’s just stupid.

4-Cash (kOBT issue): While i was thinking that the cash system would work, after playing in the kOBT, I changed my mind, it’s just the usual pay to win. For those who aren’t playing there, here’s a few samples of this bullshit: (As a free player)
You can put only one item on the market (now the market charges you before you sell the item), and after you sell that item you need to wait a few hours to take the money.
You can only have 5 “iCoins” at the same time, and you use tem to buy the item that you use to ress, (costs 2 coins, one “Megaphone” costs 1 coin), aparently you’ll recive more coins after a few hours, but again, another reason to keep coming back to a city, (like leveling up atributes wasn’t enough).
They still changing some stuff, so I HOPE, it’ll get better.
But realy IMC, make the cash stuff only visual, a lot of games do that, like custom mounts/hairs/hats etc, I realy enjoyed the game, I don’t want to quit playing because of the P2W.

The other problems i’ll just make a quick list, many ppl already talked about them:
Not having a lvl ballance to play with new friends.
Game AI: Enemies and companions need a great “AI Boost”.
Reseting: We need a reseting NPC.
AFK farming spots. (People on top of walls, etc farming with no problem)

That’s it, the main problems with the game for me.
Again, sorry for bad english
~Thanks~

Stopped reading at “NA CBT2.” Sry.

I dont think that feedback on the kOBT should be posted here, maybe in the off topic section.

Oh.

At what level did you feel you needed to start ‘grinding’ over there?

Invest in SPR and Blue Gems, and problem solved.

I agree with 3 and… 3.

I half-agree with this. Their Cash Shop model needs to be re-worked, but cosmetics-only is not the answer. That may work in popular MOBA’s or visually-attractive full-3D MMO’s with fast-paced combat (Triple-A FPS games, Path of Exile and only Path of Exile because I haven’t heard of any other MMORPG of this decade that has thrived off a cosmetics-only income), and cell-phone games, but this game is neither of those.

No way José. In CBT yes, but not OBT. Choose your stats and skill points wisely, or pay for a reset from the Cash Shop. If you don’t wanna pay, then do like Drake and start from the bottom.

  1. What are these sucky grinding spots you speak of? I wouldn’t call it a grinding spot in the first place if they sucked that bad.

  2. Use potions bruh.

Yeah potion chugging is hard here.

Alchemist will be pretty popular xD.

I love grinding. I wish this was a grinding game. But grinding in the kobt sucks. It’s punishment for not having quests to do. And the spawns are not good enough to accommodate for the players. What are the sucky grinding spots? Everywhere in the game that isn’t constructor’s chapel, mage tower lvl 5, and demon prison. But since there’s so little choice in where to go, guess where everyone is? Suddenly the only good grinding spots are bad because there’s someone on every part of the map waiting for fresh spawns. The spawn times aren’t even as fast as they were in the CBT2.

I don’t think SPR is helpful.
I had a Wizard with 1/3 SPR, and it did not help. Potion and SP items seem to be the only way.

However, since skills do not scale with SP, in higher level, SP will be less of an issue.

True.
Some skills even are better if you have less spr.

%drain skills.

Like sorcs summon.
You can easily uphold it with pots, while when you take any spr … you can jugg them down and still dont come close.

If I invest more in SPR, without the Reset my final build would probably sucks, and btw, in the kOBT we don’t even have a “Cash” way to reset, in fact, you can’t even trade with other players O_o
And potions are way too expansive, you need to wait ppl lv up, or create an alchemist to use lv5 pots.
About the Cash, I think they should keep the “Ressurect Here” and the reset scrolls, but give a few coins/day or with the Quest Journal (in kOBT the NPC don’t give you iCoins, gives you money). Then:
Ress here = 1 iCoin
Reset scroll = 50+ iCoins
Then free users could reset if they needed, and using real cash still being a better choice.

Exemple: Right now it’s hard to find a good place to grind between lvl’s 10 to 30, the only good spot is in minners village, so we have 5 channels with 10-20 players in each channel afk-grinding.

I went basically the same amount during my final build (I believe mines was about 120-140 SPR points @ Lvl 191, and all the rest in INT). I had no problem up-keeping my SP with those stats, Blue Gems, and Pots, even though I have 2 skills with no cooldown and one of them costing 47 SP per use (Bokor). I even solo grinded in Demon Prison while in that level range and leveled faster than a full party would because I was using skills almost non-stop. Unless you’re a Sorc, it does help.

If you don’t invest enough in it, and depending on your class (Which is most), you’ll find yourself sitting down often in late-game even with your SP Pots. You can tell us your class and planned ranks for advice if you want, so we don’t have to shoot in the dark. And yeah I know about the reset thing; you’ll get that in the Cash Shop sooner or later.

Potions/Repairs/Regents become easy to afford in stacks by the time you hit ~140. Which honestly isn’t that hard to reach considering Quest EXP is still high.

???
You shouldn’t be grinding that early on-- you won’t need to grind until around 80 and that’s only for a few levels. Just do all of the Quests in the maps you enter, and cross-over to Orsha (Or Klaipedia) to grab those within your level range too. You won’t even need to bother crossing over into Orsha (Or Klaipedia) until you hit the early 40’s.

I had a pure SPR Priest up to level 80, which has over 120 SPR, but I did not find it viable.
I also create another char with 2SPR:1CON up to level 120 as a Priest C3 / Krivis at 120 SPR, and I neither find it useful.

As mentioned, high level, you simply don’t need that much SPR for SP, even 1/2 in your case (120 at level 191) would be excessive. Since I have not level to 200, but based on other comments, it seems higher level, the less SPR you need for SP. Unless you need it for magic Resist, which is hard to measure. The time you level up, you get more SP regardless. With skills not scale with level / total damage, you probably gonna get more than enough SP at endgame than in early game.

As for my experience with 1/3 SPR as a Linker, it takes more than the SP Recovery I use. Even I only use link and knot, I am still slightly behind. You will need potion regardless to keep up in Dungeons.

The mob density at nefritas cliff by the second quest giver is very good. Pantos, Mallardus, and the flowers north of tenet garden’s goddess statue is also very mob dense. Both are great for 25-35. 10-25 is easy if you’re using all your lv1+2 cards. Any other problems?

Why would you even…

xD.

Just grind till level 15 at red kepa locations, trash mobs. Not the acutal mini-mini boss.
(Get’s you a good amount of mats too, channel hoping advised if you yren’t level 15 after clearing it compeltely.)

Then do your job change, the miners quests.
And you will come out around level 25.

Till you hit tenet, you’re around 32~35. Without grinding and without using “ANY” exp cards.
If the rates are the same as ICBT.

If not. I suggest to grind trash mobs, about your level.

NEVER use card before needing too. xD
As soon as you hit tenet, grinding to level 50~60 is rather easy. As long as you know how to or party up with a good aoe killer class. After that do 5 dungeon runs … you now should be about level 65+.
Just do “all” the quests till you get to the next obvious good grinding spots, where you will stick around till they don’t give good exp.

The first time i went through the levels. I had problems after reaching the tombs at level 81 … making me unable to quest F2.

I didn’t grind for enough at egnomes and i didnt do dungeon runs.
I missed half of the quests even … in the areas around klaeipedia. (rushing main quest … elllooo.)

After doing the before mentioned … when i hit an grindy level wall, with no good spots to level and no quests to do.
Card spam~

Archer c2 Sapper c3 Rogue c1 and still thinking about rank 7

One of my characters, without any grinding, I was at lv 27 after killing the Tenet Garden Boss, using almost all exp cards.
Now I created another one, and I’m getting both Klaipeda and Orsha Exp cards, It’s MUCH better. But I think they should buff the exp from mobs, so ppl don’t need to make both path quests to keep up with the recommended map lvl.

Seems like we have a “Exp block” before lv 45, I had to use a few lv3 exp cards to get from 44 to 45, but then only 1 card took me to 46, and it’s gooing pretty fast now.

The amount of exp needed decreases and increases in intervalls.

And i suggest grinding.
You will feel it, as soon as the quest lines merge. No more easy gaining exp cards xD.
And that’S around femidian, where you will hit mage tower.

Now that’s there’s Orsha, it’s possible to never grind until 130.
