Musketeer Synergies

Hey there
• I was rolling a QS3 - A3 - Musk, but on my way up I just realized that I wan’t having fun. It’s nice and all attacking fast, seeing numbers poping all the time, but the lack of AoE is too big to ignore.

• Then I decided to make a Ranger c3.
It should look like
A1 - R3 - Sc1 - Ro1 - Musket
But after some extensive reading, I’ve come to realize that’s no good.

• So I’m here, trying to figure out nice synergies for Musketeers.
• I’ll play Archers exclusively for Musketeers, so I’ll not consider cannonners as an option (even if taking a cann. at r7 is better)

• I’ve come to think:

Archer c2 - Sapper c2 - rank 5 (maybe scout/rogue?) - rank 6 - Musket

but I really didn’t find anywhere with enough info about Sappers to keep it on.

Considering this all, may I listen to you guys. Can you help me figuring out nice synergies overall for a Musketeer?

ty.

musketeer is use to be an single target burst dmg class. If you want aoe you should pick cannoner instead

A1>QS3>A2>Falcon>Musketeer. Cirling will compensate your lack of AOE because it will make you skills hit a larger area.

If you’re in need of vast AOE then make sure to at least take Archer 2 - Sapper 2 - Scout - Falconer

or if you like to live dangerously then
Archer 2 - Sapper 3 - Falconer
^
This one obviously has more DPS if you can pull it off without dying.

I’ve heard that Circling was nerfed and Snipe can no longer be used as an AoE skill. How did that impact this build:?

I would think sapper is a good choice with musket since you dont have to suffer the weapon swop delay. Archer 2 for the crit buff + evades, sapper 3 for your aoe, rouge 1 for your even more crit buff + capture for 2 broom traps, then finally musketeer for swag.

Could even go archer 2, ranger 1 (just for damage buff since weapon swopping sucks), scout 1 for utility, wugu 2 for your aoe, then musketeer.

That’s what I was thinking, but I can find any good info on that.

My korean is very basic and I need 10 minutes to translate a website’s title, so seaching kTos forum is out of the equation for me.

Well if you need info on Sapper then I guess LunarRabbit is your best bet

Honestly, I haven’t even gotten past Sapper C1 cause I’m busy levelling my Main @_@

Please do the honors @LunarRabbit :sunglasses:

circling nerf is a rumor. the snipe+circling nerf was done by make snipe aoe radius smaller.

broom trap from sapper is a really good aoe vs ground enemies, but sapper and musketter skills has a little long CD you may need some filler skill to do dmg when you’re on CD

other sapper skills have some limitation to use PvE in late game.

i cannot vouche for the effectiveness of this build, but this is what i’m following:

Ranger 1 for early, extra AoE damage. Sapper 3 for broom trap, collar bomb, and stake stockades. Scout 1 for survivability (cloak, camo, fluflu). Musketeer for single-target nukes. Couple that with the +50% damage bonus from Scout1, and it might work at picking off low-hp targets in PVP as well.

Don’t get overexcited about +50% dmg buff when casting spell from cloaking. It does not increase spell dmg by 1.5. It only give you extra fixed amount of dmg to the first hit you land equal to 50% of your p.att value.
Eg. if you got 600 p.att, when casting any spell from cloaking you will deal extra 300 hp loss only. And before you ask, no it doesn’t make every hit from multi hitting skills benefit from that. Just first hit.

you could also go qs3>wugu2>musketeer, the aoe from wugu2 is consistent but he has medium-long cd(around 30s)

Why not rogue1 instead of sap3. For double broom trap and feint+barrage?

@aqupaq thanks for clarifying that. thought it affected skill/spell damage :frowning:

@frontler because capture has a 180 second cooldown, and i plan to put 1 point of dex for every 2 points of str in my build. i’d rather be able to cast higher-quality broom traps than two broom traps every 3 minutes. collar bomb 10 looks nice as well for bigger mobs, which can be manageable with scout 1’s camo and cloak. looking at feedback for spike shooter, it seems bugged right now - so i’ll just move the 5 points to claymore for the lulz. or i could stubbornly get it at 5 and see how it works.

• Then I decided to make a Ranger c3.
It should look like
A1 - R3 - Sc1 - Ro1 - Musket
But after some extensive reading, I’ve come to realize that’s no good.

Why do you think this one is bad? In my opinion your build is a very decent one.

Musketeer is all about burst damage. If you also plan to get rogue for the extra crits, you should notice you will need some additional skills to complete your skill rotation while your musketeer abilities are in cooldown. In this specific case, going R3 is a good bid:

  • R3 will provide you those additional abilities you are looking for (specially barrage and spiral arrow).
  • It will provide you some more AoE, which is a nice addition to the limited AoE capability of musketeer and rogue.
  • Plus it will grant you extra 20% burst damage. In fact, this build will allow you to unlock the highest burst damage you can probably get in this game.

If I had to change anything in the build you suggest, I would just probably drop Sc1 and replace it by something else, for example QS1 for some PVP utility and survivability. But that is more of a personal preference.

I’ve read that Ranger c3 isn’t worth it. Barrage level 5 or level 15, the difference is minimal. The more patk I have, smaller is the difference.
Maybe SteadyAim stands for it, idk.

and I’d probably change scout for archer 2

He just clearly said he doesn’t want people to recommend playing cannon instead of musket, and first comment “play cannon”… I just don’t get it sometimes lol.

If you go R3 is not only because of getting 10 extra levels into barrage. Spiral arrow is also a very good addition to your skill set: 6 hits, 2 charges and insta cast, 39% crit chance.

So in summary, compared to R1:

  • 10% extra burst damage from steady aim.
  • +9000 damage from barrage on single targets (with feint).
  • +12 hits from spiral arrow, 39% crit chance.

It all depends on what are you looking for. If you are looking for burst damage, what’s a better alternative for low tier circles?

for now, anything that works.
for the time being, and lots of reading, and translating korean

A1 - R3 - A2

that path opens up almost every build I sympathize.
From there I can go Rogue - Musketeer, which seems really nice.

I can even go SR c2 from there if I want it.

My only question now is, my Ranger damage will feel not enough at some point?

this is what im rocking right now
barrage+feint combo, double broom trap, good crit from rogue.
and i also dont like cannoneer
