šŸ„ Archer builds/ Skill synergies / Mechanics etc Megathread! šŸ„

Ok well after reading from top to bottom (avoiding the redundant or lackluster skills) this is what I came up with. I will probably have a hard time on the earlier ranks when it comes to killing bosses since I chose Oblique over Multishot for aoe but hopefully it will pay off once I reach Fletcher with Broadhead & Barbed.

I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

i found out that you really can’t avoid getting oblique up a bit, but i started focusing on multishot, because it’s the only thing that is actually working well to kill strong enemies/ bosses or small groups effectively.

just unlocked rank 3 hunter and that class quest is awful, at one point i had to kite and fight like 7 level 57 enemies to get to some rocks ( i was level 42!) <.<

Multishot is alright for mobbing to some extent, at higher levels might be better then oblique - and costs less. With the attribute to increase casting time it’s very good.

I took hunter on rank 3 aswell, god damn that was a bad choice haha  honestly, the bastard is supposed to heal to full when you give him meat - he heals for 250? The hell is that, a gust of wind will disable him :joy: and since I’m fighting mobs 6 levels above me on average, his autoattacks deal 1 all the time :joy:

I guess he gets better later on as he levels and you invest more into him, but right now it’s bad to the point I’ll probably remake my character and go archer 3-> wugushi. Oh well, fml. I’m still waiting for confirmation from @jochris, I sent him a message earlier today but as it is, damn it’s bad. Like, with the amount of mobs and aoe they do when I was in the chapel, there’s just no way to keep him up seriously.

Since i like pet and poison thingy, i think i’m going to try the ā€œpoisonus hunterā€ build from the 1st post
Just a question: how should i distribute my stats?

I wouldn’t propose poisonus hunter, hunter counterpart is really meh at the start of it, might get rolling but pet AI seems wonky at best.

It might be due to latency issues but sometimes I can kill a mob with autoattacks before he even notices there’s a target. Sure he helps when I’m being swamped with mobs as he attacks them nicely then, but I’m an archer I’m not going to be swamped with mobs it’s counterintuitive.

I’m remaking my wugushi with c3 archer instead, I’d propose you do the same unless you’re not a powergamer and just want to enjoy yourself, then hunter might be alright.

So i got leather mastery lvl 2. But it doesn’t seem to have increased my evasion stat in the char info. Is it supposed to? When I use < 3 leather equips my evasion doesn’t fall. And it doesn’t increase when I have 3 or 4.

I think at lvl 2 it’s 2%? So you know, it will take some time to actually get the full benefit.

yeah the hunter pet can’t even keep up with enemies that you kite in a small circle, so besides doing 1 dmg per hit it doesn’t even connect with the enemy 90% of the time…

seriously considering ignoring my archer for now until i get the funds to stock up on massive amounts of manapots, low level the new pet is quite useful, so at least leveling new chars has become even easier

Is there any ranger/hunter build out there ?
I really like the ranger and I would love to get a pet with the hunter but I’m wondering if these 2 classes would work together ?

I was thinking with something like archer -> ranger -> hunter (for the pet) -> ranger -> ranger -> X (hunter again or wugushi since it seems quite usefull ?)

Does the hunter is usefull if stay at C1 ?
And it seems the ranger is only ā€œgoodā€ if you’re C2 or C3.

If anyone have any idea to help me that would be amazing !
Thx

hunter pretty much fits in everywhere for the pet skills besides SR, higher levels of hunter just give you sttronger pet skills and pvp skills, so if you don’t care for steaƶth detection you can just use rank 1 hunter

Hello. Was wondering about this one:

Shall I pursue this path? Or better not?

I was planning to try this one:

But kinda unsure now what is better.
I’m lvl 31 atm. Soloing anything and everything and died only twice. First time 'cause of lag… Second time when I accidently went on the 4th Floor of Mines

Archer counterpart in the 2nd build should get you to fletcher, though it won’t be the easiest road.

In the first build I’d leave scout for later on if you really want it, sapper into sapper c2 would help much more with levelling - even more since the amount of mobs in some areas are simply over the roof.

Thanks for the info!
What about stats distribution?
And, c3 ancher, ok, but 1rank is missing between it and the last 2 rank in Wugushi

I need feedback for my build:

I’ve always liked Archer, though for playing the same old 2-handed bow for so long, I decided to try something a little different.
Basically it’s a Shield+XBow Archer that works on reducing the enemies’ defense, as well as having a balanced amount of AOE and Single targeted skills. Having two beasts at once sounds good too.

(I have posted a thread without knowing the existence of this one :relaxed:)

@Anarth this might work, but you have to know that you will be very slow, since quarrel shooter and hunter don’t actually give a damage boost ( hunter pet needs to be leveled a lot at first)

you could try grouping and aoe mobbing with your caltrops

@Rhagius
Very slow as in leveling up? Or as in it requires dedication to develop the class (Pet growth)?

The point of my build is to become e bit bulkier and have a more sustained damage, instead of the high DPS/burst the other archer classes have.

you don’t really have strong aoe damage ( oblique shot hits 3 enemies max and seldom does, while costing a lot of sp, caltrops do very little as well, i had trouble with c2 archer into hunter.
Being bulkier is fine, but sustain is not that great in this game, at least for archer it isn’t even with hich critical chance and damage, the auto attack is just too slow

you could utilize multishot with caltrops, since you can pull enemies on 1 spot, might be the best grinding method aside from grouping

Hi fellow Archers! I’m currently archer circle2 and going rogue for pvp. I used to play sniper & rogue/stalker in RO so I figure this build would make me feel at right at home. I would appreciate some feedback on it. http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/7pocdgmxyp/

Questions:
How does Lachrymotor(Does it blind the surrounding just like in sword of mana etc…?), Feint and Sneakhit(Does the buff works with backstab and all melee attacks?) works in pvp.

Actually you might actually try it, I levelled up my pet a bit and I don’t know man, it’s just like a different type of gameplay then archer where you had to be constantly on your toes, you just autoattack and use rush dog every so often and well, the pet does a fckton of damage honestly.

Sure AoE kills him more or less, and the meat is supposed to heal him to full hp but once that’s ironed out and AI will be more responsive I think hunter will be very strong.

I actually am enjoying myself now that my pet is levelled up a bit.

@Rhagius Give hunter a try, it actually grew on me.

@lajkonikes Trying to build an AOE fletcher. Is it worth getting Ranger to third tier for bounce shot and spiral? My plan is Archer - Ranger - Ranger - Ranger - Fletcher - Fletcher

This is where I’m currently at

I didn’t get multishot because I assumed spiral could replace it, but so far I’m having to use barrage at point blank for any decent single target damage. Starting to regret getting full draw as it doesn’t seem very helpful. I liked the bonuses for archer c2, but even if full draw is instant does it help that much? And I get a swift step crit bonus from archer C1 anyways. (Though I’m not using this that often either)

Suggestions? I’m looking to be mobile with some aoe variety with a lil single target for bosses.
ORiginal idea was to go archer - archer - sapper - sapper then to fletcher, but I figured it may be a waste to try to mob to level with traps when areas are so populated/groups burn baddies fast.

Right now aoe dmg is great with barrage and oblique, but I burn sp fast and single target damage is pretty much not there.
