This is indeed the case since a while yeah, itās really good but making them go back and forth can be painful without a lot of DEX for evasion or telling your tank how to do it.
You can do stockade damage back and forth on bosses, Iāve done it quite a few times, a lot of bosses rarely move though so itās dependent on the boss and in most cases you have to move VERY far for them to decide to move towards you, doing that back and forth isnāt worth the 6 hits.
Iāve done it so many times. Iāve had bosses walk into my stockade and do damage unless theyāre flying. Idk what youāre doing wrong but I do it on every boss. The issue with Archer and itās cool downs arenāt as bad as people make them seem. I can live with the way the CDās are. Itās the SP consumption thatās a pain in the butt. If you shorten the CD then the SP consumption problem will just be twice as bad. Managing your skills and knowing when to use them properly helps a ton. If done properly you should have at least one attack up at all times. If for whatever reason all my skills are on CD then I gather up my mobs and set them up for my traps. Sapper obviously isnāt like other classes, so looking at it and expecting it to be like other classes, then calling it inferior just because it doesnāt work the same way is a flawed way to look at it. Of course youād use more Archer C1/C2 skills. Those are your bread and butter skills that youād have to use regardless of what class you pick until like R4.
Detonating boss traps⦠for me isnāt that large of an issue. Clearly it doesnāt work on all enemy traps but it does work on all of your traps. It seems as if itās best use would be to watch the HP of your own traps and Detonate them when theyāre low for a little extra damage before they die. Itās best not to pout about what doesnāt work, but rather fully utilize what does.
I consider mobs attacking the stockades to be a good thing. Archers are squishy enough as it is. Im counting on it for the rogue build too. Itāll help set-up backstabs when Feint is on CD.
It can be a lag, but not even a single Boss has been damaged when he simply run into stockades. And Iām not talking about flying ones, not sure why do you repeat and stress on them so much.
There should be more utility to traps, and I donāt mind them being SP consuming: in fact, oblique is much more sp-consuming than traps, if you compare them. Especially, given the fact that there is a CD on every single trap that you have. Iām not asking for an utility that hunter had with traps back in RO. This is a different game, with different mechanics⦠But still, it shouldnāt be this one sided as it is right now. Also, it seems rather strange, that even bosses can use ankle snare, but you - a Sapper, the man who excels at trapping - canāt. It would be strange if you could sprout out a rock pillar out of earth, but mines and snares would be perfectly fine. I think, they should enlarge an amount of different traps, but cap them on lvl 5, or 10.
Also, if we donāt pout about something that doesnāt work, then it wonāt work ever. We should pout. Actually, we are here on this beta for that sole reason. Its better to pout now, than to pout when game makes it to release.
Ok, youāre clearly doing something wrong because myself and others have seen it work. As for as for the rest of your paragraph and pouting⦠Thereās a section for that. I actually donāt particularly care about any of what you just said. Iām not disagreeing, but iām sapping fine the way that it is. Put that stuff in feedback and maybe itāll make itās way into the final build! Hereās to hoping ^.^
Ty ill do it, made it archer2/ranger, barrage helped alot.
But thinking about remaking and going other path.
What would be the advantages in going archer3/ranger1 instead of archer1/ranger3? Mostly for PvE
More oblique levels, twin arrows? Archer2 i see its for the crit bonus on attribute
I really liked barrage skill, High anchoring i couldnt aim it properly (using mouse), didnt tested other skills too much so idk if they are very useful to get high levels.
@lajkonikes Hey there laj, Iāve been using one of your builds in the OP, the Poisonous Hunter skill build, and so far, its hectic kinda on getting to Rank 4, but I recently got to Rank 4 Advancement, going to advance to Hunter C2 as the build states so, and well Iāve wondered since 3rd Rank you maxed Praise and Rush Dog to 5, theres another 5 skill points, where should they go after I advanced to Hunter C2? Since I see there are kinda alot of skills to be up in Hunter C2 that Iām confused.
Also well along the way, I had to say that build was kinda hard at the beginning of Archer C1 and C2, but once I got hunter, things change in a sort of weird way, you would get a pet for free of course since well Hunter had to use skills for a pet anyways, and by just having Praise and Rush Dog, I find them to be very very useful when soloing a boss, as in even bosses that deemed very hard for other classes to solo(Like the Worm Boss in Fishing On Land Quest).
What I usually do is that to just send my pet to go for a suicide Aggro boss mission, make sure the boss and every trap or mobs aiming at my pet and while I flank them from different sides with my Archer skills, occasionally Rush Dog when its nearby so itāll rush quickly towards my target. Funny thing is that Rush Dog is not as OP as I think it is(for C1 at least) I guess it could deal maybe 500-600 or more when critical maybe, But I found out that Rush Dog is so useful for Quest instances with a structure you had to break, like a Demon summoning tower or etc, I just use RUSH DOG ONCE on that structure and it Blew up and Quest Complete, which makes me laugh sometimes as in I feel pity for the mobs surrounding/defending that structure since I can break it in seconds. Also heās useful for when I wanted to save SP by normal attacking mobs, the thing is, I didnāt know about walking and shooting with a bow, is faster than STANDING at a spot, weird since I thought if I stand at a spot, itāll be much faster than moving and shooting but anyhow I discovered it too late(at 70 level LOL). Once I knew about this, Iāll just be normal attacking a mob and walk slowly away while my pet would bite the targets, multiple or one, since itās AOE as well I also like to round up mobs and rush dog into them at the right time for burst damage.
I am just level 80 now so I wish it will be more fun till I reach Wugushi. Also thanks for that build, itās kinda lifesaving at sometimes by letting my pet suicide over and over again(I know its kinda bad for it) but it kinda works in that way I suppose. My stats were mostly DEX(its 100 now) and a very little of STR(32 now) and maybe a SPR and a CON somewhere, I hope the info was useful or Iāll be wasting my time writing this all lol.
Main Questions
I wanted to know which to up 1st when Hunter C2 Advancement is done, and so on. Maybe is there any changes to it that I need to be aware of the Poisonous hunter build.
I like it when I can boast boss soloing with an Archer base class against others(But I think they can solo easier lol). But on higher levels, there are some bosses still can kill me, and I did have to use Icoins from time to time, but well itās all for the test so its fine? Also the Iām not sure with the Attribute levels too, I did up at least 1 for those I seen in the skill build but I know you can up more than level 1 but I guess Iāll be saving up my Silver for those for now. Also can I ask about Pet Training at the Pet NPC. Is it worth it to upgrade my petās stats or just let it be?
Also thank you if you respond to this.
just wondering if anyone here knows where to farm for the heart seeker recipe?
The skill you go first always is rush dog - it increases your petās autoattack by a lot and itās awesome to see 900+ hits flying off one after the other, even more if you do it while sitting down and just let your pet kill stuff haha. I guess coursing is better to max after but since your pet doesnāt seem to be able to attack while coursing I went with retrieve instead. It doesnāt help at all, I just want it for pvp reasons
A tip for you - when your pet goes to 0 hp, go into character selection and go back in. Poof heās back at full hp - magic.
I also die from bosses sometimes still itās inevitable.
I upgraded my petās stats until they cost 1k silver each now, Iām going to save up more before I upgrade again, but itās definitely worth it.
Make sure to feed your pet, if he doesnāt have stamina heās much slower but I guess you figured that out by now.
I am a mostly spr build now with some con, I can spam oblique shot and rush dog all the time though I do have to quickly sit every 10 seconds to recover SP otherwise it goes down fast.
Glad youāre enjoying it so far! I do too
@lajkonikes Iām trying to decide between Archer C2 > Hunter C2 path or something like Archer C2 > QS C1 > Wugushi C2. Already went full SPR. Now that you went with SPR too, would you vouch for Hunter or do you think the AI still poses a real problem?
Oh wow that was fast. Well thank you for all the tips and guides, I will proceed on with that build I guess.
Actually about that feedingā¦I was actually quite stingy until like now with my pet(I felt sorry for it) cause I didnāt really feed it much, like I feed it only when I think the boss or when I go up against a ranged enemy that may just fire from afar at me(Mages, Archers, or my Hunter Master Sempai herself LOL.) This is because at 1st, I tried feeding it and then maybe bring it out to the field and fight with it maybe, but eventually I realize that it would decrease very quickly even if Iām AFK, I know that you can off the pet and stop it from reducing the food decrease, but I always wanted my pet by my side so lol. So I ended up didnāt feed it and actually keep it that way EVEN soloing bosses till now lol. I eventually even got use to its slow speed and even utilize it(Iām such a bad Master). I guess thatās how most players actually went with their own pet as well, but at least⦠I AM ABLE USE IT FOR ATTACKING FROM FAR huhuhu(Hunter Skills)
Anyways since you did say SPR build⦠I wonderā¦should we even touch STR if I wanna like go for Dex majority and some SPR with some STR or just DEX and SPR? Will it be good just at like maybe 25 SPR? Since thats what I heard SP recovery is quite good at 25 SPR. Well about the skill I guess Iāll go for Retrieve 1st I guess, since well Iām not a PVP person at all, like I hated PVP on MMOs seriously(Glad something like PSO2 exists). Since PVP is unbalanced and all. Iāll try to level up as much as possible maybe til Wugushi then Iāll come back to ask. Thanks for all of that tips too
Sorry for the long passagesā¦not sure why I canāt reduce my wordsā¦>.<
If youāre a hunter you need nothing but spr really. Rush dog needs a lot of SP, you spam it on cd. Oblique for farming on CD, it requires SP. Multishot is fine regardless. The way I play it right now, I couldnāt be able to do it without 2k+ SP so thereās that. Try it, you can always reset back if you donāt like it.
@pd_hlima I like my hunter, it feels strong. Full spr builds compliments it because you can spam rush dog on cooldown all the time and it really brings a lot of damage to the table. Sometimes vs boss you can even sit down and let the pet kill it, haha
you will have to dodge eventually but I did that for half of boss hpās once xD
Would I vouch for it? I donāt know if itās better then wugushi. The problem is getting to wugushi 2 which is rank 5. Itās going to be hard on archer and QS alone but I do like that build aswell. I have a character started for a wugushi which is currently archer c2 -> qs c1 but it felt so bad in comparison that I just capitulated and went back to my hunter. Itās definitely viable, but I have a feeling as levels rise the petās damage might fall off, and itās no where near what wugushiās throw gu pot can achieve number wise. I donāt think AI poses a problem, if you feed it and buy the hunterās attributes then it becomes quite the beast indeed. It will not heal to full hp when you use a meat but you can always relog or change map to bring him back to full so thereās that.
I donāt want to tell you yeah, do that because if you donāt like it in the end youāll blame me for it but if you want to see how my c2 archer c2 hunter combat looks like I can record some of it.
Please do. I was pretty inclined to follow the Hunter path already, but the bad AI was giving me second thoughts about it. Tho it seems the AI is irrelevent, since weāre spamming stuff now. Looking foward to watch you in action man, thanks for your help.
Thatās with close to nothing invested into oblique shot, unupgraded bow and mobs close to 20 levels higher then me (trying to get savage bow). Hope it helps.
I stopped on QS3 + Wugushi or Rogue 2 build. Just reached QS2 and I am wondering now what I should be investing in in terms of skills. Caltrops is an obvious choice, but what else? Is rapid fire or teardown worth investing?
And how often should I be looking to use my deploy pavise later on? It seems like lvl1 takes care of just about everything I thought I could use it on.
Looks good enough. Definetly going Hunter C2. I play mostly solo, will I have trouble later on without a party? Looks like you got some con, what do you think is the ideal stat distribution right now?
I have no idea about an ideal one. I went a bit into con because I felt I needed it, some mobs really can deal damage fast later on, so that additional bit of survival helps. I will stop going SPR when I will feel that I can spam my skills without the need to rest after every combat I get. I will probably change the build fundamentally later on but for now this works for levelling so thereās that.
That oblique damage would be over twice as much if I invested into attribute and had a well upgraded weapon, but Iām waiting for a savage bow with the upgrades and not really convinced about maxing obliqueās attribute so thereās that.
The one with the huge backstabs?
Nice video there, at least from what I saw, thereās no need to be worried about my damage I guess with lack of STR and DEX crits. Iāll try it out with a Stat reset and maybe use that to grind till Wugushi kinda. It was almost like mine except my pet was without stamina haha. I think Con is kinda viable too as it increases survivability, and boy some mobs would hit you by lag, or even by range which is unavoidable, and is painful too. I just wish my pet was able to tank all the way kinda, if it died by any chance, all the stamina will be gone sadly.
Hi lajkonikes!!
Thanks for amazing post!
What you say about status?
DEX/STR or full STR?
