šŸ„ Archer builds/ Skill synergies / Mechanics etc Megathread! šŸ„

no all your stats work relative to your enemies stats, so if you want to hit someone your accuracy stat will be measured against the evasion stat of your enemy, same goes for crit.

So it’s not a % it’s just a Number vs a Number? hrm.

with LOTS of Dex, the amount of crit rate you get from swift step buff becomes significant, if that’s what you want to know

Hm no I might get rid of Archer C2 altogether, and just take sneak hit. I’d rather not waste an entire 15 class levels just for 1 attribute. Now what about the stuff in bold? Can anyone answer that?

So I’m lvling right now and at lvl 65 base class 9 , Archer 1 Ranger 2 i really don’t know what to run next since our archer class tree power spike is so weird and weak compared to others. Trying to run right now an Pure Dex build only a few points on SPR combined with itens to go 20 points and sustain a bit of SP , i wonder if i go 2 Wugushi now and an S.Reiter would work or if i could go Ranger R3 and Rogue R2 would still work on PVE and PVP kinda lost on ideas i need some guidance help me out

huge cooldowns, high cost, troubles with setting. Claymore fires in a single direction. Stockades can hit anyone as long as they (mobs) run into it. Right into it, not just come near. Punja is extremely hard to set and works more as a catapult for mobs. Detonate traps works… strange. It detonates sum opponents traps and damages them… And it sometimes doesn’t detonate anything at all. On C2 Sapper you can get collar bomb: I’m still C1, so can’t say anything about it, but seems formidable… though, depends on how it would work.
All in all, I’m not sure 'bout synergy between Sapper and Rogue. I’ve around 45 str, and 50 dex right now, 20 in spr and about 15 in con… And I use Iron Bow with yellow gem. Crits are good, but dmg to bosses are so miniscular now, that I want to cry =) Besides, stocakdes works on bosses ONLY IF you plant them RIGHT UNDER the feet of a boss. They won’t get any dmg if they just run into it.
It is still fun to play, but I’m considering about checking mage or sword… Just to feel the difference.
They should make cooldowns more reasonable, than they are now. Otherwise, its just C2 Archer with a kick on setting traps for fun. Also, they should make it possible to install more than 2 stockades at time, and more than 1 claymore/punja.

so thinking about the problem with aoe for archer and how skills for a lot of paths don’t scale well or not at all with your stats i remembered how int was supposed to increase the aoe ratio every 20 points.
trying this on a new archer hitting 20 int did nothing…

does anyone know if the increased aoe ratio is only applying to magical attacks or do you perhaps get 20 int on top of your base for the effect to apply?

edit: respecced my high level hunter, int doesn’t give aoe ratio for archer classes at all, which makes me wonder why we even have a skill that hast an int stat

ya i’m a C1 Sapper too. Cooldowns aren’t that bad. High cost can be offset by SPR. Until they fix that, dumping some points into SPR makes it easily tolerable. I’m at 30 spr and i’m good with that. Claymore is at 1 for a reason and quite frankly far too expensive to use, silver wise, not SP wise. Trouble setting? A little thought and patience goes a long way. I literally corral the mobs and run in a direction, plant a stockade and wait for them to walk over it. If it doesn’t kill them the first time, then I use Full Draw to push them back into it. If that doesn’t work, then I drop a second stockade. Truthfully I get by easily with just one. I mob so easily with sapper it’s laughable. Punji Stake is a GTFO not meant to be used 24/7 even then Full draw can skewer and hold enemies in place until I can set it up or with a little anticipation you can just set one up before engaging monsters. Bosses do indeed take damage from Stake Stockade if they walk over it. Not sure where you go that from. If the enemies or bosses are flying type then they avoid them altogether. Detonate trap works every time I use it. It doesn’t do much damage but hey idk where else to dump those points.

Synergy between Sapper and Rogue can hinge on two things. The first, if Stake Stockade can successfully proc a back hit for bonus crit chance (I wish someone could confirm this). The second being that for whatever strange reason mobs tend to try and kill your stockade over trying to kill you. If they’re prioritizing me, then I’d focus on damage from the Stockade by luring and pushing them into it. If they’re prioritizing the Stockade then I’d focus on doing damage with backstab, Vendetta, and setting up traps with a more lengthy cast time.

@mihmoi0 Just passed QS C3, Running Shot is amazing !! You can do walk forward and shot backward if a monster follows you. Sadly cannot cast the skill while running.

I feel like they could fix archer if by making it so that each charge of a skill has it’s own separate cool down… or would that be too broken? Well… it could be lol.

So, Im archer c2 now and don’t know what to go for circle 3. I want to get wugushi at 4, so what do you guys think? Thinking about hunter now

There are some kinds of BOSS traps that are not affected by Detonate Trap (the rocks for example, which makes sense at least).

Stockade duration is too low IMO (less than 15 sec) and the dumb npc UI makes me cry when a try to mob up (the damn monsters stop following you; sometimes they just stand still taking damage (this can be good for another archers branch but for sappers this is hell).

More important, i’m dying from boredom. Aside from stockades, the class is too dull (i’m still lvl 14 C1). Hope to get better at C2.

All that’s fine and dandy, but you do realize… the build comes with more than 3 skills right? I don’t get why you’d get hung up over 1 skills duration or another skills effectiveness in boss fight when you have a whole friggin’ arsenal of skills to chose from by the time you’re R6. I’m talking about the build as a whole. Not just one stage of it. At C2 your effectiveness for general mobs will dramatically increase with the use of Collar Bomb alone, but boss functionality will essentially stay the same. Sapper is by no means a single target DPS. That’s where rogue’s buffs/debuffs and single target beast skills come in.

Since no one can seem to answer my question about whether Rogue’s buffs effect Stockades and if Stockades can back hit, i’m going to just try my hardest to rush there and find out myself.

I never said anything about get hung up over one skill on boss fights, i just gave one complementary information to your affirmation of ā€œDetonate trap works every time I use itā€.

The commentary of Stockades was not about boss figths either, but… whatever.

This is very similar to the build I’ve done and I’m Sapper C2 with it, only difference is I didn’t take full draw and maxed oblique shot. I’d recommend your way better. Do max detonate traps. It does increase the amount detonated and at lvl 1 it won’t even detonate both of your stakes, which if you’re against a boss that doesn’t move much is a bit of added damage, it’s also not enough to force off most other people from training spots you’re occupying (Kriivs, cleric, mainly)

If you’re going fletcher though you might want to skip Sapper entirely and go
Archer>Ranger>Archer>Archer>Fletcher>Fletcher
No reason to suffer from Archer C2 earlier than needed, if you go with ranger C1 it will give you enough AoE to last until Fletcher, if you really want the Sapper C2 then go for it though, although the critical bonus gained from Archer C2 which is the main reason to do it, isn’t really amazing, though it’s hard to test exact % without wacking the same mob over a thousand times with it on/off for at least a start.

It does… It detonates my traps every time I use it o.O I never tried to detonate boss traps simply because I try to stay as far away from them as possible.

My comment about Stockades wasn’t referring to bosses either lol.

Oh another thing to add to this, get Stake 5 Claymore 3 Detonate 2, save 5 points to instantly get Broom lvl 5. In the CBT you can just reset skill points and do it after switching but, this way is much better. Claymore you probably will not use much unless you have a lot of gold. It’s 300 per use. Punji stake as you’ve probably guessed based on your build, is mostly trash, it spreads mobs so it works against the rest of your kit later (Broom Trap, Claymore, Collar Bomb), unless the mobs are fast this just splits them up and is very very annoying.

If at any point you are going archer archer ranger, go archer ranger archer instead. Leveling archer c2 is no fun, you don’t gain any good AoE for leveling with it extra.

I think we are playing different games, no? Bosses doesn’t gey any damage if you set stockades on their path and they just simply run into it. They just ignore it… At the very best, they could stop to start attacking those traps. Nothing else.
They do get damage from stockades when you actually put it under them. It works for ground-type bosses.
Cooldowns are bad. I’m enjoying sapper even with all this whinning, but its simply ridiculous with such CDs. Look, auto-attack isn’t a good way to attack, fulldraw is all good and multishot is even better, but it comes to that, that you use Archer C1/2 skills much more than Sapper skills.
Also, I detonated rock pillars (you can lure boss into its own traps and detonate them then), but it doesn’t work always.
FIre traps doesn’t detonate, mines as well (from my experience, though).
Also, mobs that stop on stockades and just start to attack them, while standing at the same point, so not getting any damage: that irritates, though that may show us as well, that AI ain’t that bad, lol.

could you set up stockades and pavise to trap enemies between them?
