The point of SPR Archer is to get levels since weāre beyond underpowered against the meta that mobbing and AoE gets you more EXP. Today I plan to try out full SPR over my current full DEX build because Iām level 84 and itās taking way to long to level with my kneeling shot and other skills since I canāt spam bosses for levels.
I wonder if theyāll power up archers at all. This whole situation seems opposite to the one that was in OldRO, where archers⦠Well, mostly hunters, had an enormous advantage in normal leveling. Though, they were more or less useless in locations like BioLaboratory.
Also, meh, where da hell are my beloved musician classes == I so wanna play a bard >>
What does lvling up hounding do? Canāt find any information about it. Is it even worth it? Because the pet is out of combat for the duration of the skill.
Anyone has any experience with QS c3 running shot?
They were still great for levelling in valkyrie land due to sharpshooting. I get what you mean though, we remember them as explosive but relatively vulnerable. Yet the devs decided to make them into a somewhat primarily single target long range dps.
I am more inclined to say that it is the start of the whole archer thing in ToS that is rather underwhelming, as opposed to ROās archers that start fast and stay fast.
And stance limitations are the biggest hit.
With the way skills and classes are spread out for archer tree it does not even feel as much of tree, there are too many obvious choices that you only can miss on purpose. I know it is beta, but artificial restrictions is what I hoped to have a lot less in archer in the second beta.
Well, archers have 4 stats theyāve to invest statpoints: STR, CON, SPR, and DEX.
Looking at mages (I can be wrong, though), they only have 3 such stats: INT, SPR, and to some extent CON.
That alone gives them an edge over archers.
Iām currently playing an archer and tbh after reading this i feel so discouraged⦠is full spr archer really that bad?
It is not that bad. Just in terms of building, archer has a lot less options than other classes due to a number of artificial restrictions like stances, mounts, some skills not working together.
Every time you go somewhere on archer, level up or pick a new class it feels like you are missing something. I did not have that feeling playing cleric or swordsman.
Really? I say your reading comprehension is bad if thats what you gathered from this thread.
I see, thanks for more input.
Well, considering Iām already at Ranger, I might as well just keep going. While I doubt Iāll find anything interesting itās worth a shot (hah, get it?). And if it turns out bad, it really doesnāt matter at this stage in the game.
It is beta, weāre here to test and learn. Make sure to report your findings!
So i just ran the first dungeon for the first time today, once as linker the other time as hunter.
obviously running a dungeon without a linker feels really gimped, so my hunter run ( we couldnāt find another linker) went 5 times as long.
i felt with the pace in those dungeons even max spr builds canāt really keep up their damage, i was chugging potions on cooldown to be able to keep up rush dog spam on groups with multishot and oblique woven in between.
we really need some real aoe options before rank 5 ( wugushi throw gu pot or fletcher aoe) aside from sapper ( very high costs) that arenāt dependant on the mobs being linked onto 1 spot.
oblique should at least hit 3-4 enemies for itās cost and damage and the pet should really take your target to charge, not its own, most of the time my rush dog hit only 1-2 enemies
multishot basically being single target hits that alternate in hitting multiple enemies is really unfortunate, splash damage ( maybe arrows splintering of or smth) would be quite fair for a charged move. see cartar stroke in comparison, the area hit is huge with all the + aoe on weapon and skill.
not very impressed with archer group play right now, hope you guys have a different experience
His first clip shows a different build than the second clip. In the second clip, it showed that he went Ranger C3 and eventually Rogue C2
So is it 120% confirmed that Hunter and Falconer canāt have both doge and birb out at the same time? I havenāt seen a class path for it in this thread (or might have skipped it), so Iām assuming itās not viable due to inefficiency.
I have a thoughts on a build! Im hoping some of you can help me out.
This is a Rough build thatās still in progress iām going for. Iām picking Rogue as my end class.
So Obviously you get the crit buff from Archer C2. Iām not sure if this is even necessary at all so I might pick a different class entirely instead of C2 Archer. You also get a huge buff from Rogueās Sneak hit. At lv 10 itās +80% crit chance on back for a duration of 70 seconds w/ a 70 second cooldown. you pretty much can have it up non-stop. Iām going to be really synergizing this with sapper, but thereās two things I canāt confirm:
#1. Idk if traps benefit from your buffs.
#2. Idk if the traps can back hit if you set them backwards (Facing away from mobs) and have the mobs walk through them.
If any of those are true then thatās pretty much crits all the time. If #2 doesnāt proc back hit by having mobs walk through the traps, but can still proc a back hit if you push them into it, then you can just use heavy shot and full draw to push mobs into your traps.
Feint: Iām leaving faint low (idk may raise it higher for the larger hit count) but maxing the attribute to turn enemies around for easy back stabbing.
Burrow : ⦠Idk what the point of raising higher than 1 is until someone can enlighten me on that.
Evasion vs Lachrymator: Well⦠not being hit is nice, but I assume that āDarknessā is just blinding? Now that I think about it, Lachrymator might be a better choice since it can also do dots while enemies are within the skill.
Vendetta: ⦠Coupled with backstab and bleed it can do double damage. I understand it has a lot of controversy surrounding that skill but double damage on something that hits hard af already sounds like a boss killer to me lol.
Capture: The cooldown is just too long for me to care about it. Iāll leave it at 1 just to have it.
Backstab: Self explanatory. Get it.
Iāll be stacking nothing but STR and SPR. Donāt plan on getting dex since the buffs will cover that for me. Itāll be a struggle until then, but yeah. iunno. Thoughts?
Is Coursing not working on big enemy types? Tried it on Mauros and it just kept walking draggin my hound behind it while having the debuff shown.
all crit buffs are relative to your own crit chance, so your +80% need a base to apply to.
swift step gives 25% which increased my crit rate from 51 to 63
yeah rank 5 buff on swift step is x1.25 on your crit rate , not 25 more crit rate NOR 25 more crit percentage
Mk, I see. So pour a few dozen points into Dex then, and itāll be all gravy? Now what I donāt understand are the numbers. For crit chance, are these numbers % based?
