šŸ„ Archer builds/ Skill synergies / Mechanics etc Megathread! šŸ„

Thats what I was wondering, Iā€™m only lvl 35, and spamming it at lvl 3 already drains my sp really fast.

Another thing, earlier you said that hunter was BS, not worth it at all, now it seems youā€™ve changed your opinion. Is your build at tosbase updated? Is hunter good like youā€™re saying?

@lajkonikes could you give me more details on the ranger r3 > scout > rogue build? I assumed ranger wasnā€™t really worth it without R3. Also, could you explain fulldraw to me? Iā€™m playing on keyboard mode and pretty much tab targeting. Iā€™ve never managed to land full draw on two targets.

Planning to do a Archer C2 -> Quarrel Shooter -> Wugushi C2 -> Schwarzer Reiter

What skills do you pump for Schwarzer Reiter o_oā€¦?

too bad full draw skewer lower you damage to 1/3, so if you normal attack does 60, instead you do 20 ~_~

this is with 2 enemies, iā€™ve never seen how much lower damage if 3 enemies; so this skill is ā– ā– ā– ā–  for AOE replacement, its more like a utility bindā€¦

There are Quarrel shooters here? I have my build Archer > Ranger > Quarrel and bought a crossbow. While Iā€™m shooting, the normal shoot or the Stone Shooter, my char constantly get stuck, I can only run after I jump, sometimes she does walk, but doesā€™nt run. I donā€™t know if itā€™s a bug or just lag. Anyone else experiences this?

Thoughts about my lvl50 Quarrel Shooter C2 experience and piece of advice:
Archer > Quarrel Shooter > Quarrel Shooter

Attributes to get as soon as possible:

  • One-handed bow mastery lvl5 (Archer master) -> ignore 25% of target defense
  • Shield mastery lvl4 (Quarrel Shooter master) -> can block incoming projectiles while granting a physical attack boost, not bad !

Skills:

  • Rapid Fire: good in-line damage, very good range
  • Multi Shot: good damage at low sp cost
  • Scatter Caltrops: I love this one, lvl7 at the moment, getting better and better and hits hard
  • Teardown: does great damage, I like to combo Deploy Pavise for the knockback and immediately Teardown to deal damage.
  • Stone picking and Stone Shot: still at lvl1, still useful and does okay damage. Not sure if itā€™s worth upgrading it because of the high SP cost. Very lag-sensitive as @nandhuco noticed

Stats:
STR/DEX 2:1 (60/30 right now)

Overall, more and more enjoyable ! I will go C3 for sure

Are you investing any points into CON? for the block rate? planning to make a quarrel shooter too.

I have no CON but I guess it could be very interesting, especially coupled with Shield Mastery attribute, you would be very very resistant to incoming arrows.

EDIT: actually Iā€™m going for some CON right now

Anyway, talking about archer. I am wondering what is wrong with Archerā€™s animation of normal/spammable attack. Whenever I use other skills, the delay is tolerable. But whenever I use normal attack, the arrow just wonā€™t come out soon.

oh no, itā€™s not updated. edit: updated it now.

I have a love/hate relationship with my hunter. Pet really needs a buff in terms of speed/responsivity/area of targetting enemies.

If you compare it to one of the mobs you can call for you from the blue orb for example, thatā€™s the type of resposiveness Iā€™d like to see on the companion. They attack who you attack, they follow you around, hell they attack on their own even. The pet is much more docile, and much more movement speed wise slower too - so there are times where mobs just outrun him unless the hunter stands in a spot to let the pet deal damage in. Yes, he does great damage then, but I donā€™t think an archer is ment to be played this way. A hunter is not a tank, itā€™s neither a dodge machine. Maybe hunter into rogue with the evasion bonus from rogue will work fine, because then you can tank 20 mobs on you and not get damage. As it is, itā€™s a bit wonky and definitely needs polish, but damage wise itā€™s good.

Itā€™s a more of a Iā€™m going to stand here and shoot while my petā€™s autoattack will kill everything that comes close and attacks me. Like a turret with spikes around, Iā€™m more of an active player so I went back to my archer 2 -> qs for now to get him to wugushi and see how that works.

@tampwn I gave the rundown a couple of times in this topic already while giving opinion on other peopleā€™s builds of this kind.

@jelly Limacon for single target heavy hitting no cooldown skill, running shot for the best aoe in archer tree from all the archer clases yet, aaand Iā€™d say caracole, it has a nice aoe if I remember correctly so Iā€™d go with that. Concentrated fire if you like a sort of multishot. Iā€™d go with caracole, Iā€™ll be focusing my SR on aoe damage though.

sorry I read through the whole thing and hadnā€™t seen any ranger 2 builds =(

YO!

Hate to be another one dropping a build in this thread but would like some feedback (still nub)
I was following your first build and just became a hunter on my c3, then kinda wanted to go halfway with one of your other ones.

How do you think the output would be with this? Or am I being too optimistic with something so basic?

Also any feedback on stat distribution would be great. Kinda pumping the STR but think I should probs switch to higher DEX as oppose to evening it out.

Classes like hunter, wugushi and most likely falconeer donā€™t get much of a boost from strength as their damage is either dependant on skill level ( poison damage, rush dog autoattack and rush dog ) or their own level (companion, hits for 1 at first)

So for the ones above Iā€™d go dex with an add on of some con later on not to die to mages easily.

The rest benefit from strength.

Fletcher is more of an active type of a gameplay where as hunter is more of a passive one, I donā€™t think they mesh well unless youā€™re just planning to use the pet as a bit of CC. Hunter/wugushi works well because not only do you have to stay in/around one spot for the pet but also for the wugushiā€™s aoe later on. But they really need to look into companions, I left a report in the bug section hoping it will be fixed before the beta is over.

I think if you went hunter Iā€™d consider resetting my stats into a dex build, going hunter 2 into wugushi later on and realize that the playstyle is simply different then what archer made us get used to which is button mashing and using multishot on cooldown while on bosses.

I think thatā€™s the best you can do with where you are, for a fletcher a ranger prior is better because ranger skills provide aoe where as fletcher brings another one to the table and very strong single target skills too + a great debuff.

So as to what youā€™re supposed to do, well decide for yourself.

Thanks for the reply, Iā€™m sure youā€™ve gotta be dying from all the archer talk.

I think Iā€™ll switch to mainly DEX. Is it worth putting any into STR? It feels like a 3:1 Dex to Str would be nice for if I get stuck auto attacking but at the same time it might just be a waste with so little.

I only wanted hunter for the companion as bonus dmg and CC. And ranger felt like it would only bring Barrage and High Anchor. So archer c3 seemed like a good choice (but am nub)

I think I was focusing a lot on DMG so I ended up looking at all the DOTS and Heavy hits. Am I making a typical mistake? Haha

Thanks.

I was forced to full str due to how low my damage was on some bosses, hitting for at most 10 damage per shot. You can go ahead and full DEX, but I want to warn you that this stat build is a pain to level.

Whats your dmg now that you have full str

@time2sleep00

Right now Iā€™m a lv36 Quarrel Shooter. Being full STR makes me do from 80 to 110 on basic attacks, my Oblique Shot Lv5 does 220 to 300 and my Stone Shot Lv4 from 400 to 550. Multi Shot Lv5 does 120 to 180 per hit I think.

Against bosses I do 30~40% of that amount normally.

P.S. If Ranger is better should I swap archer c3 with ranger like this?;
