[MAJOR COMPLAINT] Market now requires cash to use + trading removed

I don’t know much of the ecenomy in ToS but no player/player-trades is just abhorrent either way. That just sounds very anti mmo to me.

Also if it would cost real money to put items in the market it would defeat the purpose of some crafting classes, no?

Pretty much ruining the trading and market in an mmo is just unacceptable.

Hopefully this is a test but it wouldn’t surprise me if it wasn’t sadly.

PSO2’s trading system was my first thought, but that game has a few important mitigating factors:

 1. There is no PvP system at all, and your participation in most important content is through a randomly-assigned multi-party groups (12 people total, where 4 is the max for a single party). The ability of other players’ gear to negatively affect your game is limited.
 2. The top tier of gear is also untradable. While you can get 12* weapons right now via trading, you cannot get the 13* which are the important and more valuable ones. The best 12* weapons are also often pretty easy to get – my オロチアギト took only a few XH EQs to get at 50 ele.
 3. There are always catch-up equipment which heavily limit the need for those 12* passes. Right now, it’s Invade gear – run PD a dozen times or so, collect a 13* weapon that is fully elemented and grinded out the gate. There’s also crafted Red weapons with their incredibly useful potential, and those are freely tradable.

I don’t see any similar systems in ToS at this time which would limit the impact of this change. PvP makes a fairly prominent appearance, and I don’t see any system offering gear which would prevent that player divide. I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing to limit trading. Skyforge is another such game with no trading of any kind, ever. Steam just had to put a waiting period on trades to limit the impact of hijacked accounts. However, such systems have to be handled with care.

I wouldn’t mind so much if it wasn’t TP for a few hours and stayed up until we pulled it back from the broker or it sold. But eh, i can’t really start complaining until i see it in kobt

Come to think, the players who farms big kepa will be benefited from this,
since using the attack button hold cheat, the player will be able to leave his
char online for hours farming for icoins while they do something else.

Congratulations, another incentivation to afk farming.

This change will stop my friends from playing. As a result, it will stop me from playing. That is saying a lot, as I highly anticipate this game’s release, have put in a lot of time contributing to it, and about 800 hours into playing its betas. I also am able and would not mind spending money on many different things. This is in no way one of them.

This also destroys one of the things I enjoy doing while playing. I hunt things for my friends while they are offline. I’ll gather materials and recipes, and try to make sure our gear is up to date for the current or next level bracket. With these changes, I can’t do any of that. It’s nearly impossible for me to help my friends out by farming gear ( or for them to help me out ).

It also makes managing your inventory/market a giant pain. Many times I’ll make multiple characters, stock up items while playing and then much later sell everything I’ve found on the market. This can be up to 30-40 different items I need to sell on a character. With this system, that becomes a giant pain.

I already had to use buy in shops / market to trade things between my own characters, and instead of there being a convenience change like an account storage, it’s now almost completely impossible to pull off. This is definitely a leap in the wrong direction.

I’d go on to mention the other problems with this, but the fact that person to person trading alone is disabled makes any further discussion on my part not worthwhile. The reason being is that this change alone will cause my friends not to play.

Also as a note, I don’t see why anyone is trying to rely on the 10 TP regen as a mechanic - this is clearly only in place for the test server, since no one is spending money to gain TP there.

just cap items that can be sold on AH to 20 30 50 100, i dont know (diferent kinds, not stacks).
removing the buy in option is fine, screwing AH isnt, removing trade is crazyness.

That is NEXON bussiness model, it depends on the publisher not the developer.

A lot of maybes around to get bothered by the post, but still a thing to have on watch.

We will see when we get our next beta session.

I believe the intention of IMC is good to protect from bots, especially massive farmimg bots who make money out of it.
Even the game is not p2w, but 3rd party selling can make it so.
Up until today the most effective method is just to ban trading and item bind, but that become limitation for players interaction as well.

All mmo have different tackles, but none have perfect solution. IMC is scratching their head very also, lets give brainstorm n constructive suggestion to them.

First of who is doing this? IMC or Nexon? Don’t assume IMC is doing this without any evidence that it wasn’t a request by Nexon. Maybe Nexon feel like they were not making enough money with the shop and such or maybe IMC feel that they should provide a way for income. Unless either company has not confirmed that is there doing, we don’t know who’s doing it. We can could up with reasoning based on situation.

it’s ok cuz TOS fanboi are fine with whatever shjt IMC pull :joy:

Problem is that IMC didn’t say anything along the line of “we are only doing this in Korea because Nexon makes us to”, they kept silence.

There are multiple ways to lessen gold (silver) farmer already

 • Make item appear on market after random time, not fixed time
 • Make only high level character can chat all/shout
 • GM patrol to ban advertising
 • Heavier tax on personal trading

But yeah, let go and make market harder to use for normal players

How do you even know they actually read this thread? What if they don’t have time to reply? You are just assuming they had read this. Besides, what you think the relationship between IMC and Nexon would go after IMC said “oh well Nexon made us do”. You can’t take sides until given evidence that it was that company that did it.

The funny thing here is that most of you ppl here don’t know how much in real cash that each TP cost here!!
come on, if 1000 TP cost $1 will you guys still react in such manner?

I don’t care about the market but the real problem for me here is the “trading” they remove the “TRADING” so dont say
1000 TP cost $1
Cause most of us here the problem is the “TRADING” Well lets just hope this is not permanent ;D

Don’t worry, the koreans will be the test subject here. If it’s bad it will be changed by the time we play. IF it happen to be widely accepted, then there is nothing to be feared. see the big picture? we just need to wait and see.

@tanchengfai
Personally, I don’t really have problem with TP or Market, I know they will make money by selling TP point in cash shop or something, but removing trade player to player is not really a good move.

^ This

I don’t know where I read, but I saw DiscKZee said IMC gave more TP Point to all testers to test TP point features.
Probably they hide Trading system just to force tester to use Market or something. I hope i’m right .

If this is true, I must say…

THIS IS THE STUPIDEST MOVE I HAVE SEEN

Back then on PSO2…
The Market was already like that even before those 10* Gear and Up got implemented.
But over time… When they implemented them, They also implemented other ways to get the gear and not just through the market or heavy grinding.
We will just have to wait and see how TOS does this.
They might implement other things that will make getting gear easier…

It would be nice if it was permanently listed in the market until sold or pulled.
But the number of things you can put for sale should be limited in slots.

lol, not entering about if its a good or a bad idea… but REALLY… kids… lets say it’s a Nexon move or request… and you’r asking IMC make a public statment against the principal partner of IMC over an internal business decision… sure… how about you all suggesting this…grow up a little?.
