I can understand why pso2 have such mechanics for the gearing and so on but taking it onto a open world game where player interactions matter the most just no pls no
I guess soâŚ
I will wait and see if they will implement other things that might make things easier for people to interact with each otherâŚ
The point now isnât to speculate what is going on behind the scenes or figure out their business decisions.
The point now is as players, to see something that is â â â â â â â awful, and call it out ASAP before the game is ruined for real.
It would help if IMC were a bit more communicative. Really feels like weâre in the dark here and have to datamine files and lurk Korean forums to get the tiniest bit of infoâŚ
Theyâre not suggesting that IMC tell us âWE WERE AGAINST THIS BUT NEXON DEMANDED IT, ITâS NOT OUR FAULT!â All we want from them is confirmation on if this is a temporary change or permanent, and if itâs permanent, is it being considered for our version too.
P.S. - Showing dissatisfaction towards a change in something that you plan on spending money on doesnât make you a kid. It makes you a concerned consumer.
P.S. 2 - I was laughing at some of the posts and my 12 year old cousin came over and watched. She then saw your post, and asked me why youâre calling people kids with grammar like that.
They tend to just leave whenever our cbt ends. It happened prior to and after the first one up until the second one.
Now they probably have a lot on their plate to deal with considering obt opens in less than one week.
I agree, but isnât that the reason they created the Community Managers?_?
to keep an eye on forum for them and interact with us when they cantâŚ
@Sixaxis well said
Its pretty much the same as here. with similar ratio of people.
people who are against idea vs people who like
and as always people who are against the idea threads and comments are much more
Most games today have heavily limited trading. Even FF14, a subscription game, limited the value of tradable equipment to 2 tiers behind endgame raid stuff. I rather expect at this point that trading in any given MMO be limited, especially in f2p MMOs. RMTs will do far worse to your game than any p2w market system. Nevertheless, the difficulty with ToS is that I have yet to see steps taken to accommodate the design. That does not mean that no measures have been taken, only that I have not heard any as yet.
People should not assume (if you do) that Iâm against because I AM. Iâm just saying unless you know who to blame, donât assume it and just because this happen in the Korea doesnât mean itâs going to happen to the International version or Japanese Version. You canât really say right now until they release the open beta. The only thing that we can do right now is express our feelings about feature and maybe a prediction based on what we know not what we assume.
True.
Though because everything is still undergoing testing and everything is subject to change they may not want to make a statement on the issue at hand until a later date when everything is more in a âfinal stageâ of production.
Especially considering that weâre two different regions. One thing might work there that might not work here.
Iâm sure you know that weâll see what itâs like in our version of the game vs KRs when the time comes. Iâm sure IMC can see the uproar this has caused and will hopefully make decent decisions based on what they think is right for the game along with taking into consideration the player feedback/suggestions.
Do you remember those exploit spree that ruined server for other players because some guy was being âhelpfulâ by posting how to do it publicly?
I made analogy of it being akin to seeing a fire but no presence of fire department team, then decide to spread the fire on the assumption that maybe theyâll notice it this way, instead of calling any fire department to report it.
See, on that exploit thread, I flagged it as something that needs attention, and explain that itâs a critical issue BUT also something that shouldnât be open to public because some portion of the player will abuse it with ill intention.
I got a reply to that flag, something I didnât expect.
So you know what? your previous thread that got flag probably got viewed already.
Stop grabbing more gasoline just because you canât hear the siren.
I donât care how much the hair colour change costs or paying for exp boosters, premium accounts etc. This is fine.
But this market bulls*t is too much. I donât wanna play a single player game. As much as I like TOS graphics and the RO feeling it brings, I am not going to waste my time on a game where I cannot sell anything or trade without paying $$. Iâd rather pay 15$ a month for a p2p game.
It was fun testing the game, thank you. Bye.
Youâre forgetting that it worked. If it werenât for that, theyâd be going into an obt with a game breaking exploit unfixed. What was the downside? The last 2-3 days of the closed beta a bunch of people used exploits. Damn, that was sure not worth it to get a major problem fixed.
Spread that fire on.
It would be interesting to see a board feature where somebody can post an how to do this exploit by using the spoiler tag that can only be seen by mods but, then you have abusers.
The only way I could see that work is when a button is click by a mod, it will send their session id and info and have the server verify it so that it knows that a mod wants to see it and nobody else and send the exploit how to to the mod browser. If somebody else clicks it then it will send session id, etc and then verify that this person isnât a mod.
I believe the session id is unique and keep in a database? I havenât done web programming in a while and things change really fast.
Except the âfixâ in place is just a stop-gap solution, a patch work to close the hole.
Sure that ONE exploit got fixed, guess what happened next? Someone else post another exploit that points out the same core problem (server is lacking some checking to ensure the incoming command is valid)
And how can you be sure they werenât going to fix it? For all we know they mightâve been working on an actual solution.
But nope, some people set server on fire, they have to stop working to put out the fire.
Again, this goes back to the same fire analogy.
Just because you donât hear the siren doesnât mean theyâre not coming, and burning more houses is not helping.
@ndsetobol : Itâs called PRIVATE MESSAGE.
It was already reported well before it was publicized. Nothing was done. But youâve already read, and you know this. I donât need to tell you.
If anything, it proves that we need to be speaking up about problems.
How it did? It was the last three days, the game was dead since the bullet hell crash, how did it ruined other players game experience?
That exploit had been reported since week two.
This.
You guys have to remember that it is in the korean test for a reason.
âItâll be removed in the open betaâ, âtheyâll not follow with itâ, âItâs just nexon!â, âwait for the open betaâ, nothing of this makes sense right now, because itâs a feature already in the game.
How can you say this and explain âif itâs not going to the open beta, why did they even bothered implementing it?â
If they are testing something, we have to show that we donât like what they are testing.
Trading restrictions are a good thing imo, for a few reasons:
Proâs:
- Item security
- Limits RMT ( a lot) as Gamemako said, FFXIV has limit trading and it has done amazing things for the economy. Especially in terms of people hunting their own weapons and such.
- Makes the game more social in terms of hunting and questing.
- Gives you more to do, rather than buying your gear off the market.
Cons:
- Takes longer to get geared (This can both be positive and negative)
- Makes it difficult to help friends who are just starting up without holding their hand through the game
=====================================================================
Speaking in all seriousness though, Limiting trading does wonders when it comes to gaming, by making you hunt and farm your items it gives you stuff to do for a while which gives the game a much more active feel and does not impact on the game to the extent people make it out to be.
Having played games with trade restrictions, this is in no way a âp2wâ feature, it does not give someone an advantage over someone who does not use the marketboard at all.
Just because trading is restricted does not mean this becomes a â1 player gameâ it actually makes you work more for your gear with teams who run dungeons, honestly, if people find it hard without market, ill post my IGN up here when OBT is out and i will help you get what you need by playing the game with you and run dungeons until we get what you want, Just like the old days.
Keep an optimistic mind guys, constructive comments win over criticism any day.
Smile more. Frown less~
Your idea is right, but wrong game. You see, limited trading work because the game is designed to use that. TOS isnât designed with limited trading, that thing doesnât appear until 2 days ago after nearly a year of beta.
