Absolutely - please let me know.
Reaching rank 6 quickly is the most appealing to me as well since the second circle in Monk is very desirable.
What I concluded so far is that one has the choice of grinding either Demon Prison/Dina Bee Farm early on or the 175 dungeon a bit later.
Theoretically a higher level should yield better xp but if there is a lack of mobs or the 3 dungeon runs a day too little for the desired playtime then it doesnt work out as imagined =p
The only problem here is that one only knows after reaching lvl 175 - and by then it would be too late. How many hours did you play per day after reaching rank 6?
Did you group or solo… Prison or Bee Farm?
You can solo, but you would be better off in a group if one is available. What class are you?
Demon Prison District 2 grind. It’s really better than Dina Bee farm. I got around 1.7-2.1m exp/hr
Edit: with a pt.
I only play 2-3 days a week, so i guess 5-8 hours per day?
Do 100% maps and all dungeon instances and u wont need to grind.
That happened to me =).
Currently lvl 200, I did not have to grind once.
Just do your missions from 100 and onwards every single day. Each boss you kill in Sai Mission gives you the equivalent of a level 8 EXP card(might be less for early 100s, I started running missions at like 150), as long as the level ranges are close.
Do every map exploration, and every monster kill achievement from level 6 cards and onwards. Every map yields 6-7 cards if you do this, and you will need to grind if you dont. Also doing the monster kills will grant you a big chunk of EXP as it is, and you are working towards a goal, so it isn’t really grinding.
Grinding in this game pre-200 is never efficient thanks to the spawn timers. My recommendation would be to not overdo it with play time. Doing 3 missions, 3 dungeons, and a couple full map clears per day will make the game fun.
This is absolutely not true. From 150-160 I got better xp per hour in demon prison than I did in indun 145 or missions.
p.s.
Doing the exact same mission 3 times per day, every day IS grinding.
Yeah, well, you know…that’s just like…your opinion, man.
It is with a different party most of the time, and it is pathetically easy to do. You can interpret grinding as you wish, but for me it is staying on the same field map and killing over and over.
“doing your dailies” is not grinding IMHO.
EDIT: Would you consider the 5 repeatable quests to be ‘grinding’? It is 5 quests and you do them once a day.
This is also a gross mis-interpretation of my post. I did not say ‘just do missions and induns’ vs grinding.
You do them, then go and start clearing maps for your monster kill quests.
Sure, if you play 6-8 hours per day you are going to have to grind. There is no one ‘right’ answer.
I consider those worse then grinding personally. But what each person classifies as grinding does not help the op guys. I think its safe to assume the op refers to grinding as
you described it. lets avoid the semantics.
Hell, sometimes you can pick up the 5 repeatables and spam complete them if you already have the materials.
Also once you ‘grow out’ of level 9 cards, they are a great waste of time. I am almost at that point.
What!? I literally quoted the words you said. There is only one way to interpret the phrase “never efficient”. And you are 100% wrong. Demon prison is very efficient. Here I’ll quote you again because you seem confused:
Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. Totally, utterly wrong. There is no possible way to interpret this sentence that isn’t completely wrong.
No. The word grinding has 1 meaning in the context of MMOs.
to repeatedly kill AI-controlled monsters, using basically the same strategy over and over again to advance their character level
Sound familiar? Like Repeatedly killing AI controled monsters like… golem, mole, poata, tree?
Different party? Irrelevant.
Easy to do? Irrelevant.
It’s the same content. It’s the same monsters. Over and over and over again. Stop playing semantics games. You are grinding, whether you wish to acknowledge that fact or not.
Would you consider the 5 repeatable quests to be ‘grinding’?
Not relevant to the discussion but I’ll answer it anyway. IMO, daily quests in ToS are a grey area because they are picked at random from a pretty large pool. Since it is not the same content every day, I would consider it to not be grinding, but it’s a very fine line.
Doing the same mission 3 times every day for weeks at a time is not a grey area or fine line. It is grinding by definition.
Yeah im not going to bother, enjoy your e-victory.
Sorry, it just really annoys me when people say “oh yeah i reached lv 175+ with no grind”. What inevitably follows is “Just do the same missions and dungeon every day!”. Misinformation just irks me. Dunno why.
And it’s this exact same lie repeated over and over on these forums that leads to people being confused about why they have reached a “wall”. It’s exactly what lead to this post.
Not going to defend your misleading statement? Good. I wouldn’t have taken the bait had you tried. You know, there’s nothing wrong with admitting being wrong. I don’t know why you and everyone else on this forum is so adverse to it.
I would do different missions every day if the community didn’t default to Sai.
Sometimes, in the same mission, you get groups with no healer and have to adjust the way you play. But hey, grinding is grinding and it is not open to interpretation.
EDIT: Also you are going to like this.
Look who decided to differentiate between grinding and missions/induns in the 1st place! Whoops!
Grinding missions is the same as grinding in the field, really. It’s even less efficient when you need to wait 10+ minutes in a queue.
When each boss gives ~200,000 exp, and mobs give between 1,000 to 3,000 (pre-200), you can quickly see why running missions is important.
You would have to kill 66 ‘large enemies’ in the time it takes for you to get to and kill rough grey golem alone. Sure there are exceptions like the black coliflys in Roxona that give round 8k, so you could kill them and be more efficient, depending on your class.
