No, I don’t. That’s the problem. ONE guy, or even just a few, calls you a monkey, and you assume the whole community is then toxic. You assume everyone is racist and that’s the way everyone feels about you. Take a step back, realize it’s just a select few idiots, and move on with your life. There are bigger things that you could be worrying about then some idiot in a game who calls you a monkey.

This is just offensive, there is no reason why I would want to gain attention on this forum by any means, personally I don’t gain anything by doing so. This needs to be discussed, so if you don’t want to be a part of it, please keep playing and ignore us. But I want to be respected just like you are when you’re talking on your native language. Of course this topic would present some controversy, but fighting with each other just for the sake of calling the other a drama queen is not gonna help. Keep playing your game like you always did, it always had been really confortable for you to say. I will keep on trying to change it whether you like it or not.

Don’t feel like reading all of the replies but Brazilian isn’t a race, they’re comprised of many races.
Also, Brazillians don’t get hate simply because of their race/location… they get hate because of how they behave.
I play a lot of games, and I have to say that every single BR player I’ve EVER seen has been rude, steals, and/or is toxic to the game in some other way… now am I saying there aren’t any decent BR’s? No, I’m not… however I’m just stating what I observe from the majority of BR players.
If you want to be treated better, then you should behave in a better way.

I’m not going to say you can’t change anything, but, you need to realize that most of the people spewing the anti BR stuff you see in chat are just idiot 14 year olds that don’t know any better because their parents never taught them any better. The whole community does not dislike or hate Brazilians. I think you are making it into a bigger issue then it really is.

You are clearly wrong, you have some fine examples of the opposite on this very topic. But that’s your opinion dude, I’m done trying to convince you otherwise, I showed every single one of my arguments and all I receive back is that it’s not such a big deal, we just have to ignore them because they are young and foolish, because that is how bully should be treated, right? Just let the other kids mess with you, you’re making such a fuss, calm down and ignore them cause it will pass. But it doesn’t. It does not pass when you are on elementary school and the older kids ridicularize and mess with you, it doesn’t go away when you’re in high school and you happened to move to another country and you are the funny accent guy who does not deserve to be respected, and specially it does not go away when you’re past your teenage years and you’re trying to get a job in another country and you feel like the whole country is against you because you are going to steal their jobs and use their money. Trust me, it’s not that simple. The mindset of the players are directly linked to all these things, like it or not. It’s not a trivial thing to be called a monkey so you just need to walk away from it. All I’m asking is for you to analyze the situation and see that there are racists and xenophobes and it’s not a small deal. If you want to keep calling me a drama queen who seeks for attention that’s fine, but I’m done trying to argue otherwise.

I sincerely don’t comprehend why people are so bothered whit foreign languages, if it’s written in a language you do not understand the message is in most of the cases not aimed towards you. Sure, some people may curse using foreign words thinking they are clever, most of the cases however that foreign is not saying mean things about your mother. Plus, if you are really that curious about the content of a message written in a foreign language you can use google translate, though it’s most likely a message looking for friends which speak the same language.
I wonder where the whole “HUE” thing comes from since in the twenty five years of my life i never heard or read anyone laughing like that among my circle of friends. I really hope my IP won’t be blocked because of a few retards which may or not be from may country spam the chat with Portuguese while the people which utter xenophobic words are free from any harm.
The main reason i play international games is to meet people from other nations, that is aside from trolls. If however i get IP blocked, loosing the chance to socialize with other cultures i hope that at least the Brazilian publisher is decent, something which i have very little faith at based in past experiences.

I pretty much agree with you. I only speak English and if I don’t understand what is being said because it is in another language I couldn’t really care less what is being said. If people want something from me then they need to speak English. Not because of anything other than I just don’t know what you are saying.
There you have it. I’m confronting the bullies instead of just letting they do whatever they want just like you did, t’s the same thing, denying to see it is just playing dumb.

And how do you expect I or any other Brazilian to individually go about doing that? Do you think I have control over what two hundred million people do or say? Because I haven’t ever harassed, harmed or disrespected anyone in this game and I try my best to be fair to everyone. Yet that doesn’t change anything. There is no justifying the generalizations and idiocy people spew on chat, and it’s also against the terms of service.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. /shout is where the toxic players gather, and probably make a small amount of the community. The fact that they are spreading cancer in a global chat does not mean the entire community is toxic like them.
This is easily fixable by reforming the whole chat system and later on adding chat moderators.
Played with brazillians yesterday, we did a few quests together and we treated each other nice, just like it should be with any player.
Having been born in Portugal, my mother tongue is obviously portuguese, so I can understand both english-speakers and brazillians, and from what I’ve seen in /shout, both parties are to blame. The first few hours of the beta, I remember seeing players asking questions. Then members from both sides began to trigger each other with little insults, which eventually evolved into extremely racist things, usually involving which “race” is superior.
You might see more english-speaking haters due to the server being international, therefore having a bigger english-speaking population.
Every hater is to blame, and the best thing you can do right now, is to press ENTER > Press the little gear on the right of the chat box > Uncheck the top notifications of shout, and then proceed to test the game and send more bug reports to IMC.
We’re here to test the game, not to play around Game of Languages. There is no Iron Language Throne, and with the limited time we have for the CBT, we should find as many bugs as possible instead of giving IMC issues when this is not even a main priority at hand right now (perfect time to fix this should be during open-beta imo).
