Someone needs to be a sacrificial lamb, eh? I can see the potential. Main thing stopping high Dex builds would be block pen. If the trend of high skill damage continues as we get more ranks, strength will provide less and less to the overall damage.
Nope it was just sarcasm what i said. High dex is very viable in PVP. I tested it myself because for some reason IMC decided to changed the TBL time. I was rank 2 as full dex cata3 dopple in 2v2. Managed to rank 30 something in 5v5. I can kill full con PD as long as i have DOV level 5(Lapasape) and their safety wall is on CD. Also dont go PVP if you dont have 3 pcs of rhevisans.
The only block classes youll have a rough time are Thauma full int and Priest 3 stone skin. Both of which are a rarity now compare to what it was before. Meta Clerics already changed, they are now Kaballist, Diev 3 variance.
With the upcoming Lancer block penetration buff for me that buff is not that great anymore unless Meta clerics went back to priest 3 again.
Can the lancer use one handed spears?
I was thinking about swords3, cata3, peltasta & lancer, but It wouldn’t be good if it can’t use an one handed spear.
all lancer skills are 2h spear only.
Will you pick pelta for taunt?
Lancer can already block with 2H spear (with the skill buff), you do not need a shield. Also you cannot use a shield for for lancer skills (require 2H spear).
I am bored of seeing 1000 plague doc fencer dragoon inquis mergen so I am researching Ktos lancer now. Very interesting class.
Inquisitor kabbalist is very annoying at pvp.
The top player will throw pear and use revenged sevenfold damage reflect buff on herself + on the pear.
Pear will fly to magical users if they try to use skills near the pear.
Physical classes will get hit by revenged sevenfold damage reflect if they try to destroy the pear.
And stepping on pear -> receive damage too.
If anyone uses AoE randomly on pear -> revenged sevenfold. Especially many dragoon2 dethrones will suicide.
Can Joust remove the pears? If so, will R7F still trigger upon Joust?
Joust will remove magic circles only (such as heal tiles). Sadly, pears are object (like diev statue) so they cannot be removed unless you hit them (and get revenged sevenfold).
I saw some vid of cata3 lancer using rush into pear and get revenged sevenfold. You could take ausrine diev buff to counter.
I also found most lancer are from cata3 dragoon1 because they were already dragoon. The only use of dragoon for this build is some knock up cc and the 2H spear passive. Another r7 might be more useful for pvp. I will check ktos lancer pvp statbuilds later if I can find them.
Well, that’s an interesting insight. I was thinking of Sw3->Cata3->Cor1->Lancer+. Given that Swordsman at the moment is more of an enabler, I feel you don’t need a damage dealing circle at rank 7. I guess both have merits though.

As for having Dragoon for R7, it’s really not that bad and with the info we have right now, it seems the best - at least as how I’ve experienced it being Sw3 Cata3 Goon1.
With decent attribute levels, even at just C1 both lv.5 Dragontooth and Serpentine provides decent multihit DPS/burst for PVP, supplementing or perhaps acting as finishing/filler skills for the Cata3 skillset. I can’t say much for other skills (Dragon Soar is very situational even as a filler).
Can’t disagree that this may change, and possibly for the worse, once R8 finally comes here in iTOS though.
I’m still hopeful for the best.
Different goal different purposes, corsair is great for cata, hook alone is extremely useful. You can aim more accurately because youre highly mobile. Only downside i can think of is youre locked in place which makes you prone to damage or freeze, magnetic force.
Cata3 is like an Alchemist in dota, both are mobile. You can build him as carry or support defending on your goal. Both are viable.

Lancer’s skills alone seems like not enough DPS at all. He was relying a lot on Doppel 1’s cyclone to help dps after Rush. If Lancer didn’t have Doppel he would definitely lose. Lancer’s dps comes mainly from Rush + Cyclone. In TBL you don’t have the luxury of dismounting for cyclone then getting back on your mount afterwards (if it’s still alive). This puts lancer into a purely support role in TBL (breaking magic circles, etc.)
Dragoon just seems much stronger, 2 dethrones = half enemy hp already.
The reason one use cyclone is because it is a pseudo rush. It work well with restraint to stun lock someone to death. Normally rank 7, cat3dop will never cyclone another cata (aside specific scenario like low hp, or CC’ed by something else) because a cata3 can just run out of it (even with restraint sometimes with sheer luck); however with lancer umounting, that footman will never get out of it. The point is… It is the CC that we use cyclone, the DPS is just a bonus (like rush). If restraint is not up, u can bet he spam his lancer skills instead.
So if a fight ever come down to both side’s rush got disabled by impale, doppel still have unmount + cyclone which would give great advantage in close combat.
IMO dragoon2 vs dopLancer, should really be a cat and mouse game. Dragoon2 should stay away and just use dethrone only, no reason to take risk in melee. (then it come down to how big is the battlefield, the bigger the more advantage dragoon2 has, vice versa)
Lancer should go dex, and the meta build for Lancer PvP is actually Sw3 -> Cata3 -> Dopple -> Lancer in kToS.
