KToS General Thread v5.0

when will this hit ktos btw? the dev blog? I’m looking forward for actual demos … by ktos players …

Cleric support revisal is scheduled for May, same with team achievements.

July has Goddess Raid & equipment, New Hunting Ground, new arcade contents (Assister defense and ToSHero [whatever that may be]) and treasure hunting in fields .

In the months after that will be episode 13-2 and episode 14, the housing workshop and further improvements to the achievement system.

There will be a new Q&A roadmap stream tomorrow(29.04.2021) at the same time like the stream on the 20th (18:00 Korean time) on the official imcGames youtube channel.

The Q&A will probably released afterwards in short text form just like last time within a week or so.

I hope somebody bothers asking what will happen to the base materials like vaivoras. We know making a lvl 4 won’t require 8 vaivoras…but how are they going to reimburse those after the change? Giving back 8 vaivora and ending up with 7 leftovers would make them kinda meaningless, so maybe they could give boxes back instead…we’ll see what they manage to do.

having 7 vaivoras to sell is not meaningless, it’s rather meaningful, because it will reduce the entry investment for new players via the newfound abundance of vaivoras on the market.
Lowering to entry hurdle to endgame content will provide the base to keep new players engaged instead of hitting steep walls, which is the only chance IMC has to keep the game running as more and more people are quitting.

One way to keep the worth of multiple vaivoras would be if they make the vaivora storage into a collection that requires the specific character to register a vaivora to access the lv2, lv 3 or lv4 vaivora that has been unlocked by the main character, resulting in every additional character that wants access to the effect using up 1 vaivora.
I doubt IMC implementing it this way, I rather believe they will pay back up to 8 vaivoras so they will be abundant on the markets again.

You would have an abundance of only few specific vaivoras though, of which only one per player is needed. Prices are gonna crash down if they do so…and i don’t see why “reducing the entry investment for new players” must be implemented by screwing up old players, unless they want those to quit as well.
Especially considering that due to the changes, even old players have to get new sets of vaivoras now that both weapon set stats are applied together (gotta see exactly how vaivora effects will apply, though).
Even worse is if people did start getting those vaivoras but couldn’t do anything due to the reducing supply of certain materials plus the heightened costs given by the removal of +2 and great success. They would end up with multiple vaivoras they don’t need anymore, and that now aren’t even worth much, while never having seen their lvl4 vaivora to begin with.
That’s why i hope they’ll give selection boxes and change current ones to selection boxes instead of just reimbursing the vaivoras used. At least you can recoup the costs by getting vaivoras you mean to use that way, and sell the rest.
Cause frankly speaking they made a terrible mess with this change. And you can’t expect the players to pay the costs of their confusional lack of planning. If you want them to keep playing, at least.

I’m not sure where everyone is getting this only needing 1 vaivora moving forward. Unless I’ve missed something they’ve announced changes and some possible reimbursement but not expounded on that and nothing indicating a reduction of actual vaivoras as part of the process.

It was mentioned that we won’t need 8 vaivoras anymore, but no details on the new number

Source it please. As far as I can find they’ve mentioned no such thing.

Just when IMC already shoved player with heavy grind of vaivora lv 4 and molded us like a lantern fish adapt to bottom of the sea, now they want to make everything easier/cheaper and pull us to shallow water?
and that character-bound goddess equipment which has no poten? i see it as IMC excuse to sell those goddessEQ dungeon entry tickets package to any DPS slave who want to reach +40 quicker

Idk it feels…err. Only because personally vvr drops geared me, as well as archstones frags and other rarities. Wouldn’t this mean a huge crash in prices? So getting one after the patch would be sort of meaningless, but are the silver fees for crafting things still there? IDK maybe i’m crazy but sort of sound like they are trying to kill silver value that players would have to rely on TP. I hope not.

New QnA from IMC games ongoing on korean.
It seems like they’re cancelling the common class system? Also some adjustments to Dual Weapon system and stuff.

I already hate the changes they plan, goddess equipment will only be able to equip vaivora ichors(weapon) and lvl 430+ unique ichors(armor). Where is my Moringponia shield and skiaclipse mace I was planning to use to get some nice crit and skill boost?
This is plain stupid, the old fixed ichors are now officially dead and buried. If the goddess set would’ve allowed to use old ichors on the second weapon set, it would’ve revived lots of item ichors that became obsolete.
The only hope left would be if you can have the set effect(Balinta/Sauk/etc.) with just 6 parts and put non-goddess weapons in the other slots so you can at least use the effects.

One new class will be released every month

You don’t like common classes? Well, now we’re gonna release a class every month! :prince:

It seems they also talked about the development of a skill point synthesis function. It would be interesting, if we could use unused skill points from one classes for another class.

One new class each month … for either Archer or Scout (probably). :poop:

I reserved my thoughts on the kTest changes simply because we haven’t seen the full picture of Common classes that’s only fully revealed in July, but with Common classes being cancelled (RIP Nak Muay Monk 2021-2021), the latest changes just looks awful for scouts in general.

To be fair, there was no way Common classes are going to take off with how IMC was presumably taking at least 5 out of 15 Scout classes for Common classes despite their trouble in trying to bring the number of Archer/Scout classes in line with other class trees and their inability to balance the current class system right now, let alone trying to balance 5 class tree with 1 shared class tree.

IMC clearly went all in with the Common class idea with no intention of backing out initially with how IMC changed Enchanter and Thaumaturge into the most magical-looking Wizardry classes they could’ve been, pray tell whatever the kind of lore they will make up to justify Enchanters and Thaumaturges being in Scout with how magical and how not-scout-like they look and play now. :joy:

Nerf Scout classes plz. Scout tree is OP in PvP and PvE now.

There goes my hope that Taoist and Bokor could come back as common classes to be added to Cleric again.
I hope they rename the current Bokor into something else like Cursemancer and bring back the original Bokor with 20+ zombies to Cleric, the class was one of the most iconic classes in the whole tree and would still be fun to play, especially if you could convert it to physical damage dealer (Bwa Kayiman for example was a physical attack initially).
Easy to recycle, good gameplay, much fun to use, what’s there not to like.

Common class is still a good idea, maybe they can specifically design a few new classes as common classes that don’t really fit into any class tree (Mimic, Shepherd, Puppeteer, Centurion to name a few classes that could be made open to all trees).
Common class would be perfect to group classes locked behind a quest in the future, while basic classes would be free for everyone with a character of the specific class tree.

It would additionally lower the discord of the community if they release one or two common classes and 1 or two class tree classes per patch, since everyone would be able to play a new class.
These Archer and Scout-only patches are gruesome for people who play neither.

Rip my plans of unironically playing a Wizard-Nakmuay. But oh well, not having common classes is probably better for the game overall.

They said somewhere that goddess grade stuff will have higher attack/defense values too. Also if I recall correctly, the new goddess instance can only be entered if you are in full goddess gear. Might be wrong on this though.
