KToS General Thread v5.0

yeah, they received some deserved love but as a whole i still feel that is lacking, a lot.
is like they are putting bandaid in a open wound, it needs a lot more than that

.

but the tone of the changes as whole do paint a dark picture, we got rebuild some years ago because imc wanted to “open” up more classes “paths” and now they are closing it all again and worse, classes like ret and hacka is literally starving for classes to combo with them and here comes imc and kills even more, hoplite as well since outside of it’s 2 handed variants it also starved in 1hand spear scenery where he was supposed to be as well, simple put imc had a perfect chance to make more viable paths for hop(1hand builds), hacka, ret, cata’s by making them work with each other thus opening new paths but went complete in the wrong direction.
cata changes as whole was “nice” if you put him in the standard “comfort” zone with dragon-lancer etc, since the changes of OH and cd would not have a big impact and would in reality really buff a little the overall damage of that combo (since you barely use cata skills because of it’s low % in dragon-lancer builds) but as the class itself i see his changes more as nerf than a buff in the end, huge increase in cd and not so good increase in dmg etc, really brings it down in the end.

now: hacka have channel too; and i do believe that imc already changed the buff from fencer to “not” work on “no pierce” skills, plus hacka now also have 30% dagger atk on main atk att, overall i don’t know if they can outdps fencer, since fencer alone is a lot stronger than hacka, but would be nice to see some hacka-barb’s around, without doubt it can do good dmg with dahlia, since is another class that have channel, but since imc killed stabbing sword and rush never could be used with sword in the end, is hard to say how it will be in the end.
i just don’t understand how imc can give sword shield 15% defense on atk power on shield and complete “kill” all 1hand builds that could go with hacka by removing spear in hacka and sword in hop-ret.
maybe imc plan to put hacka with shield classes in the future? don’t know

They could potentially subvert it by adding a 3rd rapier class, which… this is just my own speculation, but feels like what they may be leading into doing. Too early to tell for sure.
I just hope it isnt anything like Arque for Musket/Cannon, if they are aiming to do that. I don’t think its a bad class, or hate it, but it plays as if it’s basically Musket/Cannon DLC.

Also… weird Stomping Kick change.
I hope its good, I used to like that skill.

sorry to say, but at this stage i think is impossible for imc to put a “rapier” only class, not that is not needed but doing a “arque” stylish class would make a lot more sense and would be a lot better for the game health in the long run since having a class as “all rounder” with multiples builds to be fit with it would be better for the playerbase that plays differents characters and to be true, i think this is better, it brings more variants than simple “closing” rapier build to matador-fencer-(new rapier class).

Yeah they dumb down falconer so much…
The only fortunate thing is the only content left with bulky and dense mobs are Relic Dungeon.
DS/CM are jokes now so whatever.

Oh, I agree actually, I prefer variety.
Arque, to me though, feels like that closing 3rd Musket/Cannon class that it didn’t need.

I would have preferred if it stood up on it’s own two legs (…or one leg, apparently) like the other 4, and around the idea that you could have picked it alongside Musket/Cannon or T.Hunter/Matross without the other sister class. Or all three together. That way, there would be even more variety in how you could play Musket or Cannon, in addition to the usual 3rd flavor class of choice (Hunter, Wugu, Sapper, Piper, Falc, Appr).

As for Swordie, they aren’t really as open-ended as Archers are, unfortunately.
I would prefer if they didn’t do a 3rd rapier, but I’m expecting it to happen due to their current design philosophy, that’s all.

On topic because I’m curious: Do Barb’s while-mounted effects for Frenzy and Warcry change the original effect, or add to it?

IMC hates Physical Clerics, its well-known enough. Skipping over Physical Clerics again and again, this time to balance Swordsman tree again, but they never miss out on fixing out the good bugs … though this is actually the 3rd time (or 2nd) they are fixing Palm Strike bug so what the hell are they even fixing … :joy:

Time to wait for another 3-6 months.

For those interested in Krivis.

I don’t really understand the changes that forces you into a “caged” build with the same classes. Why have a class system with advancement then. If that’s what they want it would be much simpler to remove the advancement system completely and make single class builds like all other MMOs. A mage, a paladin, a warrior, a rogue, a cleric…

@4lkruzeth Melstis gem is probably just renamed into Piety gem, right? I might want to farm that one before the changes come here, then, it seems to be really strong and is probably the best choice for raids and WBR.

No clue, though with how IMC treated replaced gems, it will probably be changed to Piety Gem or something. IMO Piety is a decent DPS skill, but its gem really adds that oomph to it. The meta for kToS Clerics (both Magic and Physical) is currently going through all kinds of Krivis builds, rest assured it will be really sought after.

no mention of changing SFR, idk if that mean Control blade (I presume it’s control blade, gonna need translation) gonna be stronger. This would be kinda big for BB build since lv4 bb vaivora give 100% final damage to control blade. That is if you can even manage to get a lv4 bb vaivora. Other than that giving the slash build min crit chance (thanks god) and make doppel not clunky with massive cd is a nice update. I don’t think it can beat the fencer build tho (maybe the highlander variant can)

I’m asking because it will probably be the best choice for the Legenda set. I’m currently using Restoration + Demolition in my Savinose Dysnai set and planning to use Restoration + Piety in my Glacia Legenda set since Demolition, although the damage is great, is better in the cases where there are multiple enemies that can actually be hit.
For once I’m happy that you need two different equipment sets so they can be optimized towards the content.

Edit: By the way, if I remember correctly, someone else stated that bosses will no longer attack with specific elements, rendering the Paladins skill “Resist Elements” useless aside of the damage boost option. Is this true?

nah i’m sure the korean archers will complain in droves as always and the IMC will change some skills again like aiming.

To be fair Archers no where complain the way clerics do lmao. Clerics got that SOS sign and everything

No class complain as much as Clerics, even here. Every little change in the cleric class you’ll see 1000+ posts complaining because clerics want to do everything and be the best at everything.

On topic: Ktos patch notes will come up soon hope to see if they change something and some translations hopefully. They already posted Vaivora and System changes.

To be fair, even non-Clerics complain about Cleric changes since y’know … every serious party needs a Cleric and Cleric changes usually have overreaching effects beyond their class tree?

Cries in Paladin’s Barrier: Devotion.

On a side note, IMC once again bringing kTest things to kToS too fast to offer any substantial testing. With that said, kToS players do us proud this time and complain enough about Falconer’s Aiming for IMC to change it beyond just -10% evasion, please.

Btw after imc killed devotion what’s the new replacement for chill raid run with group tanking?
