KToS General Thread v5.0

Well one way to look at this is that it caters to veterans and not seasonal players as well as pay2win but that’s just for now

Since every day you get those little Res Sacrae quests that give some mats to level up the relic, I was curious to see what it was about. I thought it would be like arks which you level up with nucle and it’s indeed the case. But there’s a twist… You need to refine those mats 10 at a time to generate ONE refined version… and EACH time you do that you need to sacrifice two endgame mats (BG, mystic pages, practoniums…). After that, using those refined mats increase relic exp by 50… and you need thousands of exp to level up the relic. So yeah, f… this.

Same feeling. It makes the game unnecessarily complicated, unrewarding, tedious and expensive. Not fun at all.

I realised that as well.

IMC is giving too much add ons to enhance anything, too much materials to craft everything hence the rate of acquiring materials are absurd.

Cost is increasing by small steps, with big steps once in a while
1 -> 2 = 5000
2 -> 3 = 5500
3 -> 4 = 6000
4 -> 5 = 13000
5 -> 6 = 13500
and so on, you can see on above screenshots that 12 -> 13 = 32500 exp required

It’s meant to be something you upgrade over a very long time, like Boruta Seals. At level 1 it’s pretty much a baby toy and the Liberation skill is a waste of RP.

Leveling the Sacrae is fine, it’s just a matter of time and silver. Leveling the gems is the main problem, because it’s very random and costly, and without it, your Sacrae is only a small passive stat boost. They heard the complaints on kToS, IIRC they will add a new item you can get in raid and that will allow you to upgrade a gem without mats. We’ll see how much it helps to alleviate the problem.

I don’t think it’s really a problem of leveling the gem if you’ve got enough resources to level up the res sacrae since it is required to be at twice the level of the equipped gem. 5000 EXP = 100 units a 20 blessed shards each means 200 blessed gems just to level up the res sacrae to lvl 2. For lvl 3, that’s 220 gems, for level 4 it’s 240 gems, so you need to spend a total of 660 blessed gems to be able to equip a lv 2 gem on your res sacrae.
By watching that video above, it only costed the guy 118 blessed gems to achieve level 2.
Even if he was lucky and the average gem would cost ~200 blessed gems to reach the next level, that would amount to a total of 600 blessed gems, which is still 60 blessed gems less than all the upgrades cost to be able to equip the gem.

If you ask me, the gem upgrade seems to be relying on RNG,but still is likely to be cheaper than the required upgrades to be able to equip the gem. Looking at this, I think that it’s made expensive so that people have an incentive to upgrade the ark to stage 10 before (costs 736 blessed gems from stage 6 till stage 10) because most people were heavily turned off by these high costs.
Now with the new equip these costs seem to be relatively low/tame in comparison,and usually have a better payout than the investment into the new equipment.

If they make Arch Stone more available through auto match raids, maybe getting karaliene/lucifieri is also an option to invest blessed gems before going towards res sacrae, but right now there is still too much RNG involved, even for the incomplete Karaliene set (which should’ve been much cheaper, 10 Arch Stone fragments for the whole set, to make it more readily available, 2 Arch Stones is still too much at the current drop rates) so the ark seems to be the best option to sink these gems for the time being.

i think you can use other cheaper material

it’s been a long time since a “big” update came out on the Korean server, I wonder what they are working on.

you can use blessed gems(2x), blessed shards(20x), practonium(1x),magic stone (2x), refined heart of glacia(1x), mystic tome pages(2x). It could be that mystic tome pages are cheaper on some servers, but the rest of the items should be equal in value or more expensive, so it should always be around the price of the 20 shards. Each purified breath also costs 1m to craft (but you can use discount coupons from goddess grace to reduce the silver costs) so you spend around 100m silver on lv 2, 110m for lv 3 and 120m for lv 4 additionally to the resources.

They are, supposedly, working on (fixing) Giltine Raid. That said, hopefully they show us new vaivoras soon :satisfaction:

WTB Druid buffs and VV (Lycanthropy wolf please)

after making vaivora ichor mandatory for auto matching, I wonder why they didn’t batch-release all the vaivoras still missing. I mean it shows you the middle finger if none of your builds classes has a vaivora weapon released, and yet they put out that requirement, making certain classes mandatory or enforcing an otherwise useless vaivora to your class.

It’s very strange how they release vaivoras,too. Looking at for example the Archer class tree, the majority of specialized classes (in the sense of weapon specialization) already has a vaivora, even if there are only two or three classes using that type of weapon, like Cannoneer and Matross each having their specific vaivora already as the only two classes that use the cannon, or Arquebusier,Musketeer and Tiger Hunter all having their vaivora weapon already, same with Quarrel Shooter and Arbalester.

Yet these specific builds locked into a weapon could’ve done for months with only 1 vaivora released since the class that has the vaivora is most likely to be included into the build (a musket build without Musketeer or a cannon build without Cannoneer seems unlikely), while in other weapon groups that are less specific there are only a few classes with a vaivora.
The worst example is support Clerics with only Priest having a vaivora so far.

Vaivoras still missing:
Swordsman(4): Murmillo, Barbarian, Peltasta, Templar
Wizard(7 or 8): [Alchemist], Necromancer, Elementalist, Sage, Featherfoot, Onmyouji, Taoist, Warlock
Archer(7): Hunter, Ranger, Sapper, Wugushi, Pied Piper, Appraiser, Falconer
Cleric(9 or 10): Krivis, Druid, Dievdirbys, Oracle, Monk, [Pardoner], Paladin, Kabbalist, Miko, Zealot
Scout(6 or 7): [Squire], Corsair, Thaumaturge, Enchanter, Linker, Outlaw, Assassin

That Swordsman bias is blatant…

I can see it already… falconer vaivora = pre emptive strike deals 100% rather then 25% of the skills sfr. Vaivora 4 would allow tomahawk to be used automatically from pre emptive strike xD

I’d argue it would be a trinket but it locks Crossbow user without a Falconer Vaivora option. So, I dunno.

How would a Squire Vaivora look like?
+1 Extra Camp?

The Concept of Vaivora is to bring back skill effects they removed in the past (to turn them into vv).
So it would give: Can tele to Camp from anywhere

Or +buff duration% if they wanna be real brave.

If that’s the case then falconer vaivora would be next level OP. Remember the old effects of aiming for falconer? It duplicated every physical attack within aiming :joy:
