BB meta coming back?

How IMC is so good at designing 2h swords and so bad at designing staves blows my mind.

Also, Zanas is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Truly a good boy.

You know if they turned staves into gloves or invisible I’d go wizard

Masi the staves around that time did look great, but all the goddess cube ones have been hilariously bad.

Would also be cool.

Zanas finally getting some love.

None can stop whale to investing game, you agree imc need running, how they get the money from this free to play game?? Of course creating stuff to getting money, whale is good for all, even for casual player who dont wanna spend gacha for wing, let whale gacha, casual player buy with silver what they achieve for free,

You kinda missed the point…

The only thing in common between whales and free players is the fact the bigger the game population the more they can do in game (playing with parties, trading/market, goofing around at town, competitions, pvp, etc)

While whales are the major revenue source they also are the minority (in numbers) as population, so whenever IMC does a power spike on whale products it pisses the playerbase majority. So… if free players stop having fun, can’t keep up with the game pacing or feel like they’re an afterthought, they’ll start quitting and that comes from the free side first.

If IMC only focus on whales, free players are more likely to quit and their departure will slowly impact whales as their power and relevance is proportional to how big the game population is. What’s the fun of being a large aquatic animal if you’re stuck at a puddle?

THIS. This is the real thing they have to think about, and it has nothing to do with whales x free players, it’s just a matter of how to make the game better and get more people into it. The reason ToS doesn’t stick to people is because the main attractive element (flexible class system) isn’t aligned with the gameplay experience. People can’t find such a flexible class system anywhere but they can find a better similar gameplay experience, so the only real reason to pick ToS over them is the art style, which is far from ideal…

Just think about this for a bit… According to steamcharts, except for ToS’ first semester, it was never able to beat Euro Truck Simulator 2, and that’s a ā€˜pay to play’ single player game released in 2013 with not a single free DLC, which is more of a niche game than ToS. There are many more ā€˜pay to play’ single player games that have more active users than ToS (yes, some are AAA games and fewer among them are fresh games), which is free, online and receives (free) consistent updates. ToS wasn’t able to hit the 5 digit mark since 2016.

IMC has to stop trying to make ToS the best game it currently is and start making it the best game only ToS can be.

This is a very good point, but by far not the only reason.

Tree of Savior is pumping out so much new endgame content every few months only to be forgotten and replaced by other endgame content later on, which makes the game feel hollow.

I’ve seen countless posts over the years from so many new players that are completely lost on what to do once they are done with the main story quest, which is a result of oversaturation of forgotten content and the lack of a direction for new players what the game has to offer after the main story quest is finished.

We’ve been dealing with a world map with many maps / zones that are completely useless for many years now. Traditional farming on such maps is therefore dead, because it’s simply not worth it and hasn’t been for quite some time.

The same goes for many classes that are refused to be re-worked, because they want to stick to the original concept come hell and high water.

The list goes on and on with mercenary quests, leveling dungeons, fishing, old raid dungeons, old hunting grounds, collections, heathran badges, etc. that are all outdated, but still in the game Don’t get me started on the overly complicated item identification / re-identification / dismantle mechanics and how to upgrade your gear, so it’s end-game ready. I think nothing really is explained in-game with a proper tutorial except assistors.

A big issue is also the lack of marketing. The game virtually had none for years. It’s not visible, which is a huge issue. Have any of seen how much insane marketing Mihoyo does for Genshin Impact all over the world? IMC doesn’t need to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on marketing, but appearing on the front page of Steam every once in a while would be a start.

The new trend seems to be to turn Tree of Savior into a gacha game by limiting everything. Maybe because of the success of Genshin Impact? Other MMORPG’s tried this as well and they all failed with it.

Is there any upcoming balance change/ buff for Scout class as a whole?
I’ve been checking wbr top rank people’s gear for awhile.

Our server’s top Scout Tyhz has gear so good/ so overthetop it beats all the wizard on the leaderboard by at least 5 times.
However when it comes to WBR score, he’s not even doing half of the damage of wizard that has much worse gears / accessories/ seal than him.

The damage factor of most Scout’s skills just seem terrible and with tiny AOE .
Most Scout classes you take it just for that one or two passive dps buff , but most of the other skills are garbage. (Like Sheriff)

Do Ktos notice this issue and plan on fixing Scout more?
Those ā€œbuffsā€ are so tiny, plus Scout has some of the worst VVR out there compare to other classes like mergen/ cleric/wizard.

(Red arrow is where we are at now)

IMC already did a few Scout changes in this half of the year (whether that did anything though, lel), so I don’t expect IMC to touch Scout anytime soon. As long as IMC doesn’t deem Scout buffs as urgent/important or the kToS population does not make enough noise for IMC to change Scouts over their other plans (Nak Muay, Shield Swordsmen, Wizards (lel), Sadhu and making new Classes), Scouts will probably expect a long wait for any changes to occur.

In the meantime, let’s sit together in the league of low DPS with Physical Clerics and wait our time.

:tired:

Well… I’ll give my take on how the game went wrong:

Back in beta, the game had a way healthy(er?) field farming. Attack scaling was flat, weapon damage was flat, buffs were flat (for the most part)… But let’s come back on this later.

And then suddently, BOTS HAPPEN! Overflowing the economy with silver, helping RMTs buy themselves into whale gear in weeks, or even days after new content is dropped.

IMC was literally losing a lot of easy money to Bot Farms and cheaters/exploiters, man… How Insane.

Failing to deal with this whole situation was IMC’s worst mistake. From there it was just a downward spiral, really.

Within not much time since launch, IMC had to powercreep the hell out of the game, trying to keep whales from being bored and quitting.

I personally think this began with Earth Tower. There, If your build were to be anything apart from DPS, healer or CC, you were out of any top party. Basically, being ā€˜classblocked’ from the endgame, placing the average Savior even further behind of top 1%.

This also include this cluster of mechanics that we have nowadays. Anvils, gems, transcending, ichors, ark, seals… All to make whales/RTMs ocuppied for a little bit, while also having a devastating impact on dolphins and F2P altogether.

Coming back to the flat damage topic, we already know how many classes and mechanics renewals we got these past few years, right? All of them were directly linked to our content powercreep, which was linked to RTMs, which was conected to bots… But anyway, smarty IMC decided to buff classes, sometimes by shoving %scaling everywhere in the game, or by removing entire unique mechanics, interactions, dumbing down most of them… So these classes wouldn’t be auto blocked from new stuff. At least it was the goal, I guess.

ā€œThat buff which made your class kinda unique? Now it’s just a regular ass %scaling buff just like every meta build. But yo, you can thank me by buying this LetĆcia’s Cubeā€.

These renews actually brought back a considerable amount of players, but all of it was easily undermined by the overflow of new mechanics to learn. ā€œWait, now I have to transcend my weapon if I want to be relevant at all?ā€ … ā€œWhat!? I need to farm this very specific monster, on this very one and only heavilly disputed map, under a Drop Per Kill sistem, to craft the new gear!? And what is this Practonium bs??? Nope nope nope nope… I’m outā€¦ā€

All of this in a spam of 2~5 weeks.

We also can’t forget the optimization problem. ā€œTrying to do world bosses or GvG without a 3k~5k PC? Too bad! Enjoy these 10 frames per second. Cyaā€.

In the end, I would say we are already on the ā€˜absolute milking’ part of a MMO’s lifetime. IMC have cut their budget to the point where even GMs are that rare of a species right now. They could just be getting enought revenue to invest in their next project……

…. But you know, I could be totally wrong as well. I hope I am at least…

WHAT Sheriff is fine now, the new (not so new) buff, plus the new Vaivora makes him great (to me), maybe not ā€œmetaā€ but definitely not garbage -_-

Still doesn’t change the fact Scout is currently the lowest damage class in the whole game though.
Shadowmancer is doing at least twice or three times more damage than the best Scout build out there with absolute best gears.

It’s not even comparable.

I’m curious, in KTOS I bet there are Shadowmancer with even better gear than Tyhz .
With that much gear on the most op class, doesn’t that make them doing at least 3 times more damage than any other classes on WBR?

Do KTOS never really notice this? Also did they also not notice Scout is almost always on the bottom of wbr list too even with absolute best gear?
