KToS General Thread v5.0

What annoys me tbh that the missing add damage from binatio also cuts your add damage in half for prideti…and then they still want you to have add damage on your own with vvr…like wtf…

I can’t even rly make these calculations because there are rly lots of lots factors but I don’t see at all how prideti with vvr could come close to pyktis or triukas…
…and I can’t test it myself to see at least how far it is from the other versions…

Since Binatio’s attack speed don’t really differ using either maces (not sure if its due to kTest ping), there’s nothing really stopping Chaplains from ignoring Chaplain Vaivora and going full raw.

The assumption I get from the bits of information we have so far, is that playing Chaplain with Chaplain Vaivora is a playstyle that relies on not only the Additional Damage you get from equipment and Cleric Support classes, but also from other party members, implying a rather … different approach with that Vaivora.

Chaplain is changed to be much more reliant on raw, so I have no idea what IMC wants to do with Additional Damage and Prideti, really.

Now that you no longer have DoublePunch or attack speed from Binatio, to use two-handed mace is a little unviable, because your speed attack slows down considerably.

I was thinking to do Chaplain-Plague Doctor-Inquisitor, and use Plague Doctor Vaivora, but the attack speed will be really slow with two-handed mace.

I know the attack speed of default auto-attack differs between 1H-Mace and 2H-Mace, I’m just pointing out that Binatio changes the attack animation of your auto-attack itself into a slower Paladin’s Conviction animation that makes you do 2 auto-attacks per second regardless of which mace you’re using.

With that said, I can’t confirm it since kTest ping exists (maybe the speed will really differ with low enough ping) so I may be wrong about this part.

when those changes kick in, can we receive some compensation? like reset arts/atribute vouncher extractor? because from what i’m seeing, monk will became a caster, while chap will be the AA dealer, so i’m really curious about what to do with my chap-monk  :tired:

Sadhu Cloth Arts can boost your ADD damage, Wastrel Dagger boosts add dmg per anvil and trans lvl, Mirtis assister, its possible to go beyond those 15k, at least 20k i think its doable.

Welp, in kLive Binatio just got nerfed 15% while Aspergillum got nerfed 33%.

Chaplain changes to kToS:

Binatio: 1176% x 2 at max level
Aspergillum: 925%
Aspergillum Magnus Exorcismus attribute: Duration changed from 10s to 15s

Welp, new Chaplain (with all the equips and Pyktis, not Prideti) did feel quite strong, now it feels like Chaplains must land almost all auto-attacks during Binatio with the changes. Disappointing that they didn’t change anything about Monk going into kToS as well.

On a side note, they increased Aspergillum’s Magnus Exorcismus duration from 10 seconds to 15.

Interesting changes, looks like I’ll keep my Chap after all.

hahaha, rly? They nerfed chaplain? HAHA
why they don’t nerf Crusader or Blossom?

and honestly, Chaplain vaivora is a trash in comparison with Plague Doctor or Exorcist Vaivora, or SR Vairora too

So another year without my chaplain, thank you for nothing IMC, you are:

It seems like a huge nerf…is it justified at all? You say it was strong but was it that op compared to other classes?

I feel quite disappointed rn.

Justified? Nope. Was it that OP? A huge maybe if you have ALL the various equipment (Luciferi Pyktis extra hit + Saint Oath + Swift Ark etc, anyone?) needed and there are enemies that let you auto-attack for the full 30 seconds (everyone knew Cleric melee auto-attack is an impractical and flawed playestyle), and only in a bossing situation (melee auto-attack isn’t suited for mobbing). Not many classes can benefit from Goddess Armor and Chaplain can finally benefit from Saint Oath, along with Magnus Exorcismus changing from 10s into 15s being a huge buff, but eh … wish they could’ve done more. How is it compared to other classes? Strong enough to pull its own weight assuming the aforementioned circumstances, but IMO Chaplain’s Binatio + Needing Zemyna/Swift Ark interferes with your two other class choices.

My initial ideas (I believe other players had similar ideas on this) of Chaplain buffs were to increase damage, range, and give a mechanic to allow stacking auto-attack damage when not attacking and releasing it on the next auto-attack you land on enemies (IMC sucks at balancing low/no cooldown damage sources). They went all in on damage to make up for the other two, but now that they nerfed the damage, I would’ve hoped that IMC do something about giving it range or such a mechanic.

AKA Nope, I don’t think Chaplain deserved those nerfs, but in the first place, I never thought that forcing SFR buffs into classes IMC said can’t be fixed by merely increasing SFR, would change anything anyway.

It’s just a shame that Cappella was nerfed, that was another reason to pick Magical Chaplain, you can still pick it but it won’t be the same.

I still want to slap chappy with monk and just alternate between slapping things and kamehamehas.

Not worth, change on DP makes it a must to use skills to get bell buff so would be not only aa + blast.

Is Sauk still okay after balinta set remake?

As much i can tell:
Sauk for intermittent bursts.
Balinta for constant dps.

chaplain was busted op on ktest release, the skill changes are too significant and interact incredibly well with gear + ark

Can anyone from KTOS post a video here of the OP changes of Chaplain doing solo CM7 or DS5 and WBR tests?

To be fair, Chaplain had too little power in the whole auto-attack equation with how the gearing works now, those skill changes are vital for Chaplain to be relevant with Saint Oath. Its up to IMC to balance that going forward, though eh, balancing a class according to an armor set …

I’m just happy Chaplain is finally separated from Monk, to be honest.
